Chapter 562 - 272: Xu Dejun on the Run (Part 2)

Staring at the unfamiliar ceiling, Wu Chang sighed and turned over.

He had hoped for a fulfilling night but didn’t expect this ending. Lights out!

In the darkness, Wu Chang thought about what the All-Knowing Crystal had said and couldn’t sleep.

The three Pillars of the Present World, the Power of Faith from three planes, combined to construct a massive Secret Divine Kingdom.

With just over thirty days left before the World Dungeon, completing all this wasn’t going to be easy. On returning, he must discuss with Erin and make plans in advance.

To gather faith, naturally, it was up to her, the Eternal Pure Light, to step in.

With the All-Knowing Crystal’s answer in his mind, he fell into a half-dream state, unable to distinguish if he was awake or dreaming.

In a daze, a scene appeared before his eyes.

In the scene, a middle-aged man in his fifties piloted a low-altitude aircraft, speeding away. Behind him, three or four players in different attires chased closely, unleashing various skills at the man.

The middle-aged man’s face was pale, with a piercing wound in his lower abdomen. The wound’s surrounding area was decayed, preventing recovery.

The severe injury made the man too afraid to turn back and fight. He could only focus on fleeing.

But he wouldn’t escape for long; under pursuit, his aircraft suffered frequent attacks, and the shield’s energy was nearly depleted.

At this rate, his aircraft would be blown up within two minutes.

The scene swiftly shifted, advancing in the direction the man fled. There, a closed plane portal was seen.

Seeing the portal, Wu Chang immediately knew through temporary admin privileges that it was once the entrance from the Realm of Reason to the Underground Shelter.

After making the Hymn Company a private plane, his temporary admin privileges in the Desolate Realm improved, allowing him to traverse between the Desolate Realm and the Realm of Reason via the Pillar of the Present World.

If he wished, he could instantly appear at the portal in the scene and save the pursued man.

But on what grounds should he save that guy?

The Realm of Reason was Joy’s territory, where Joy could utilize its full power. Was he going to walk into a trap?

Wu Chang opened his eyes, detaching from the scene. He took out the All-Knowing Crystal, noticing it glowed faintly.

The "Inspiration" skill under the Item Effect section of the All-Knowing Crystal also emitted a faint light.

"Skill Description: The All-Knowing Crystal will randomly provide you with revelations related to the answers you seek."

Was this the All-Knowing Crystal’s response to his answer?

Was the pursued middle-aged man in the scene related to the question Wu Chang asked earlier about the All-Knowing Crystal?

Without further thought, Wu Chang immediately put on the Disguise Mask and chose to appear at the portal shown by the inspiration, fearing that any hesitation might lead to the middle-aged man’s demise.

The scene before him abruptly shifted, and as his gaze refocused, he found himself in a valley.

The valley was about three hundred meters wide, flanked by steep rock walls. Inside were many irregular stone pillars, each over two hundred meters tall, making the valley’s terrain extremely complex. Piloting an aircraft among them was risky, with the slightest carelessness causing a crash.

The valley was barren, with only scattered vegetation on the grayish-blue rocky mountains, along with boulder-sized stones that appeared to be fragments of stone pillars collapsed by external forces.

His Master of Breaking the Game had not been triggered, and despite the lack of a pollution value in the air, it felt like he wasn’t in a dungeon but rather in the Crimson Courtyard.

Yet, in the scene he saw, several players were attacking the middle-aged man.

Was it that those players could break through the Crimson Courtyard’s rules, or was it that the Realm of Reason’s Crimson Courtyard wasn’t a safe zone, allowing players to attack each other within?

Before Wu Chang could figure it out, he saw an aircraft crashing from the sky, drawing a wobbly trajectory before smashing into the ground not far ahead, stirring up a dust cloud.

The middle-aged man he had seen earlier staggered out of the smoke, clutching his abdomen, a large knife in hand, ready for a last stand.

A few seconds later, four low-altitude aircraft followed, descending from the sky in four directions to encircle the middle-aged man.

The leader among the four pursuers was a player dressed as a Future Warrior, wearing tactical goggles and an intelligent exoskeleton.

The Future Warrior maneuvered his aircraft to hover in the air, looking down at the middle-aged man below, and said, "Old guy, surrender without a fuss and come with us. Maybe then you’ll have a chance to live."

The middle-aged man sneered, gripping his knife even tighter. "The Bright Society sent just you few to hunt me down. They really don’t think much of me. Before you came, you should have investigated me. Instead of wasting your breath trying to persuade me to surrender, it’d be better to just take my head back."

The Future Warrior shrugged and said, "I actually thought the same, but there’s a higher directive to try to capture you alive. If you don’t cooperate, we’ll have to reluctantly break your limbs and carry you back."

As the Future Warrior finished speaking, the player across from him, dressed in snug Leather Armor, a leaf camo cloak, and a Jungle Assassin outfit, had already vanished.

When he reappeared, he was behind the middle-aged man, bending low to slash at the man’s Achilles tendon with a dagger.

The middle-aged man seemed to have eyes in the back of his head; as the assassin appeared, he swung his knife back. The blade, carrying all his might, fell like an iron gate. With no defense, if it struck, the assassin’s small frame would likely be sliced in two.

Four against one and injured—taking more damage was hardly a win. The assassin wouldn’t trade life for an injury and promptly retreated.
