Chapter 356 356: Lost Memories
Chapter 356 356: Lost Memories
Naledi's eyes turned into golden orbs whose light dimmed the sun itself. The tips of her blue hair turned from white to gold.
The pillars of ice lit up with golden light, they were positioned in a hexagonal form and golden light spread within their domain.
Before anybody could react, everything came to a stop. Time froze within the domain of the pillars.
Naledi coughed up blood and felt as if her head was being split apart. She knew she didn't have time and attacked.
Ved's claw had drilled a hole in the bird avatar's chest but the ancestor was in the forehead.
That's where she aimed her sword, her massive blade pierced through the forehead and stabbed through his body.
Since it was an image it phased through his body and directly pieced his soul, a split second later, time continued.
The ancestor looked down and saw a sword piercing through his body and a wave of mind numbing pain followed.
He had no idea what had happened, he heard a sound then found a sword through his chest.
He screamed as the sword cracked his soul, before Naledi could react the avatar disappeared and the ancestor also disappeared.
She had no idea where he had gone nor did she care, she had no power to fight anymore.
She rushed to grab Ved's falling body but she only managed to take a single step before her vision blurred.
Using World of Stasis placed a heavy burden on her soul and spirit. Cracks ran through her soul.
She could feel something growing inside her soul but it was so powerful it was killing her instead.
She had an idea what it was, when she received the inheritance in this world she met a spirit of its previous owner.
It was her who told her the truth about her and Ved, biut all of it but enough to paint a clear picture.
She knew what was happening to them was related to that, unfortunately they were still too weak to touch upon that power.
She outstretched her hand to reach for him as they fell to the ocean below but she could not reach him.
Then her mind went blank. Before they could hit the ocean, their bodies came to a stop, a woman appeared in the air above them.
She looked at them gently then waved her hand and they disappeared. A moment later, a cloud of mosquitoes appeared.
The mosquito queen looked around, she could smell a strong scent of incredibly potent blood.
Even more than that of comprehension realms, she felt herself getting hungry, unfortunately that scent ended here.
However there was one that left a trail, one she recognised very well. She grinned she flew in this direction.
Her children and her drones followed behind her, before long they saw a floating island that was relatively small in size.
It had a hill and she saw a cave in the hill, she could smell her target inside the cave.
Inside the cave, the old ancestor of the Kadaris empire was cursing, the damage to his soul was greater than he had expected.
His soul had a crack, a wound like that will take too many resources to heal, treasures that can heal souls were expensive.
Even if you found them, healing the wound would still take a lot of time. He thought back to the fight and couldn't help but feel fear.
While the would delivered by that girl was massive, it was the one caused by that dragon that terrified him the most.
The damage delivered from his avatar to his soul was naturally much less than damage delivered directly to his soul.
However, the issue was that this wound did not feel like a wound. A piece of his soul was gone alongside a large portion of his laws.
That piece of his soul could be regenerated with treasures but the loss of his laws brought his cultivation down.
In comprehension realm and above, ones cultivation progresses by continually comprehending their laws.
That claw however had completely destroyed his laws, not just that, it had cracked his connection to the outside world.
His vessel itself had been damaged even though the claw had never even touched it, he couldn't comprehend it.
Now, not only had his cultivation dropped to comprehension realm level 2, comprehending laws will be much harder.
With his lifespan, he already knew he had no chance of breaking through to late stage comprehension realm let alone creation realm.
However he still has hope of reaching level 4 which is the start of mid stage comprehension realm in this lifetime.
Not that hope had been shattered by a child, he was infuriated and humiliated by the entire ordeal.
Just as he was wondering what to do next, whether to hide his wound so their enemies wouldn't know the empire is weakened he felt something look at him.
He raised his eyes and his face contorted with fear. Infront of him stood the queen of mosquitoes, their domains greatest nightmare.
In his state, he knew he didn't even have a chance to run away, let alone fight back, the creature smiled at him making his heart jump with fear.

Ved woke up, he looked around and found himself in a cave of some sort. He looked down and saw Naledi sleeping next to him.
He had no idea how they got here or what had happened. So he asked Manas.
" That old guy knocked you out cold with a single attack, it was quite pathetic." She started laughing.
Ved gritted his teeth, unfortunately he couldn't punch her smug mouth. He figured Naledi was the one who brought them here.
Naledi woke up a few hours later, " Ouch, my head hurt, what happened?" She asked which confused Ved.
He thought this was her doing, when he explained that her face changed with confusion and worry.
Both of them were lost on what happened, " Something strange is going on here."
He nodded agreeing with her, " Do you remember the last thing you did?" He asked.
" I think I used some technique, I can't remember what it what, why can't I remember?"
He sighed, " It seems whoever brought us here also took out memories of what happened."
Ved didn't believe Manas when she said he was knocked out cold by an attack, the only way for that to happen is if that attack directly harmed his soul or spirit.
