Chapter 382: Fated ones, I am Hades

Chapter 382: Fated ones, I am Hades

Within the water curtain, unbeknownst to anyone, the third chess piece had already been placed and was slowly drifting into the chessboard.

Above the water screen, the voice of Green Clothes resounded. "It looks like this is a spiritual world, spiraling in the universe, a civilization of the mind, perhaps? Perfect, this should be father’s favorite type of sustenance."

Then came Black Clothes’ voice: "Something is off about this world! Our thought processes have been significantly accelerated upon entering here. In a spiritual civilization, this would imply a hastening of time flow. A day in the outside world could be years in here."

"Indeed, it’s peculiar!" White Clothes frowned, seemingly deep in thought, and spoke, "It’s somewhat inconsistent with universal laws. Spiritual civilizations, although rare, do exist. It’s not unheard of for spiritual energy to give birth to an entire spiritual world.

But this intense level of cognitive activity, and on such a large scale – if not replenished, this world might exhaust itself in a few years. Moreover, it’s filled with demonic energy. A world constructed on demonic energy as a framework is very strange!"

"Why bother with all that! Better for us if there’s demonic energy; we can grow stronger. Maybe we can even nurture a new guardian. Let father start devouring it quickly!" Purple Clothes’ eyes gleamed with excitement as she spoke. With her words, a formidable energy began assaulting the surrounding spiritual world, evidently aiming to tear it apart.

The space started to crumble under the intense energy assault, and black beetles appeared around them.

"Wait!" At that moment, White Clothes stopped Purple Clothes, seemingly having discovered something. She reached into the shattered void.

Soon, a grey-white mist appeared in her hand, and her eyes sparkled with silver light, bringing forth tiny runes that constituted the white mist.

"This is the ruling force of this world! The essence of a world, how can it be so easily obtained! And this ring, it’s made of pure demonic energy!" White Clothes exclaimed in surprise. Suddenly, the mist in her hand churned and rapidly formed a ring.

The ring emitted a rainbow light, seemingly pulling at something. Moments later, more rings appeared around them. A grand, authoritative voice echoed through the space.

"Fated ones, I am Hades. Unwilling to see living beings tormented by spirits and souls without a resting place after death, I created the Horror World to house ghosts from all realms.

I left behind ten divine seats, but little did I expect that this would lead the souls of this world into endless war. This is the Ring of Forbidden, holding the authority of the world. Use it wisely!"

"It’s not just a spiritual world; it’s artificially created, attached to a real-world foundation!" White Clothes seemed pleasantly surprised. This meant that beyond the vast Horror World, there was an even larger reality, a veritable feast for the Underworld River.

However, an even greater surprise was yet to come.

Ninety-nine rings were drawn out from the void, immediately beginning to absorb the surrounding forbidden power. As this power was harnessed, the Ghost Energy in the vicinity became purified.

The black beetles let out excited shrieks, rushing towards the now pure Ghost Energy. The forbidden power absorbed by the rings was swiftly drawn into White Clothes’ body. The eyes of the seven guardians shone brightly.

In a symbiotic relationship with the Underworld River, they depended on it for strength and protection, even as they guarded it.

However, their enhancement was usually limited to the overall strength of the Mist; they had control over the Mist but their own powers were fixed.

Now, these rings were directly absorbing the surrounding forbidden power, effectively attaching an external ’digestive system’ to the Underworld River.

Importantly, this absorbed power wasn’t going straight into the Mist but was enhancing their personal strength.

Due to their symbiotic nature, the guardians instinctively revered the Underworld River as their father, prioritizing its wellbeing. However, this didn’t mean the guardians were devoid of self-interest.

The Underworld River wasn’t just one entity; it was divided into regions, each with varying strengths among its guardians.

"Big sister, not only can these rings accelerate father’s absorption, but they can also increase our strength. Perhaps this will make our branch the main one," Blood Clothes said excitedly.

"It’s a pity it’s so slow. With just these ninety-nine rings, it’ll take ages to absorb this massive world," Green Clothes remarked somewhat regretfully.

"The structure of this world isn’t complicated, and these essences are constructed from power akin to ours. Maybe we can decode it and use it to create more rings, even a complete system. Remember the humans we encountered before? Their memories contained something called ’games,’" Black Clothes suggested thoughtfully.

"Why don’t we decode the essence and turn this world into a game-like structure? We won’t rush to devour it but instead use this foundational power to absorb demonic energy. We’ll provide the pure spiritual force to father while we draw demonic energy to grow stronger."

"That’s a good proposal if we can create a complete system! This is even more important than finding a vast civilization of intelligence. Let’s temporarily stop the devouring and work together to develop a complete system," White Clothes agreed, clenching the ring in her hand and waving, causing the surrounding black beetles to halt their actions.

In the Horror World, where time flows much faster than in the outside world, a hundred years passed in the blink of an eye. In a corner of this world, a Mist formed, creating a vast forbidden area.

A century later, within the Mist, the seven guardians appeared elated. They gazed at the enormous green flame before them.

The surrounding Ghost Energy was rapidly absorbed and separated; a part of the pure Ghost Energy was devoured by the black beetles, while the separated forbidden power merged into the Mist and partly into the bodies of the seven.

The Mist began to expand. Armies of hell warriors, clad in black armor and beetles, were summoned. Any malevolent ghost appearing in the domain of the Mist world was slain by them.

Their corpses were decomposed by lanterns filled with green flames, continually augmenting the Mist world.

Another hundred years blinked by. By now, the Mist world had grown immensely, with its rules becoming increasingly refined.

"White Clothes sister, the system is now perfected. Should we start devouring?" Green Clothes asked excitedly within the Mist. In these hundred years, the spiritual rules of this world had been fully decoded, and the hell warriors were a product of these rules.

The method of devouring and purification had also been perfected. To them, this world no longer served any purpose.

"Intruders, leave our world!" Just as White Clothes was about to agree, a stern shout resounded.

The seven turned their gaze towards the edge of the white mist, where tens of thousands of formidable figures, led by a man, stepped into the Mist world.

Within the white mist, the atmosphere churned. Squads of hell warriors immediately charged at these intruders.

However, these people were clearly different from the natives they had encountered before. Each one had highly condensed Ghost Energy, impervious even to the forbidden power’s influence. Their attacks also caused damage to the hell warriors.

A fierce battle ensued. Hell warriors were torn apart, and natives fell in combat.

These hell warriors of the Mist world were merely by-products of the guardians experimenting with the fundamental rules.

Although much more powerful than those encountered by Alexander years later, the natives of the Horror World were also significantly stronger, leading to the swift annihilation of the hell warriors.
