Chapter 334: Unifying the Horror World? Was this not a form of madness?
The inheritance was soon complete, and a new Ghost City tab appeared in Alexander’s attribute panel. Casting his gaze at Isolde and the others, the corners of his mouth curved into a smile.
He believed that not just Untold, but these people would soon willingly transfer their Emperor seals to his duplicates.
Sure enough, it didn’t take long. Under the torment of Alexander’s duplicate’s tentacles, Isolde and the others quickly expressed their eagerness to transfer their Emperor seals to Alexander’s duplicates. Alexander conveyed his satisfaction and gratitude, while Isolde and the rest pallidly insisted that no thanks were necessary.
Both parties reached a mutually satisfactory agreement on the matter of transferring the Emperor seals and amicably confirmed a work employment relationship that required no salary. Through their conversation, Alexander got a grasp of the current state of affairs in the First Ghost Realm.
Unlike the Third Ghost Realm, where Alexander resided, the First, Second, and Seventh neighboring Ghost Realms were expanding their Mist at a much faster rate. Especially the border Ghost Cities, which faced the constant threat of Mist encroachment.
When the Mist arrived, escape wasn’t entirely impossible; one could leave before it fully descended.
But the question remained: even if you could escape, where would you go in the vast Ghost Realm without a system-recognized property or Instance protection? How long could you last? Dying at the hands of hell warriors became almost inevitable.
To counter this situation, Ghost Cities in these three realms formed alliances. In this way, if a Ghost City faced a calamity, like impending coverage by the Mist, the entire city could relocate to an allied Ghost City. This prevented them from becoming complete wanderers, constantly worrying about the increasingly frequent appearances of hell warriors.
The Lake City Alliance was one of the five most powerful ghost alliances. This "Top Five" didn’t just refer to the Third Ghost Realm, but included the neighboring Second and Seventh Ghost Realms as well.
Even more, Lake City had connections with other major alliances, such as Explode City led by the Explode Ghost Emperor, who was one of the two major alliances in the Seventh Ghost Realm and Anguish’s deputy leader.
"Your alliances are formed to counter the encroachment of the Mist world and to relocate your ghost citizens. Collaborating with Anguish and others serves the same purpose, so you must have a way to relocate a large number of ghost citizens quickly, right?"
Listening to Untold’s introduction, Alexander’s eyes widened.
For Alexander, the biggest obstacle to unifying the Horror World wasn’t military strength or numbers; it was distance. Though Alexander had teleportation portals, they were ineffective for inter-Ghost Realm transportation.
Even within the Ghost Cities, the portals had a limited duration. He initially thought he could only rely on his duplicates to achieve his goal, but this unexpected gift changed things.
Indeed, Untold nodded and directly handed Alexander an item.
Item 1690: Teleportation Array
Description: A wondrous item crafted by a ghost obsessed with strategy games, crafted after his death.
Function: After use, it places a large teleportation array with a diameter of 10,000 meters at the designated location. Enter the array code to teleport troops to the corresponding array.
"How many of these are there? Where is the person who made these teleportation arrays?" Alexander asked impatiently after a glance at the array’s attributes.
"There are quite a few. The creator of these arrays died long ago in the Mist world, but these arraies are common here. Nearly every city lord has one, and I have four of them myself," Untold replied, handing over three more arraies to Alexander.
"I have two as well!"
"I have one here!"
"I have some too..."
Indeed, the number of Teleportation arraies was substantial. Almost every Ghost Emperor had one or two, with some even possessing up to five. Just from those present, Alexander collected nearly a hundred arraies.
No one dared to hold back. Although their Goodwill scores were enclosed in parentheses, they were a solid one hundred before any deductions.
Alexander wasn’t worried about decreasing Goodwill; he would assign a duplicate to keep an eye on that. Most likely, any reduction in Goodwill would be because he had been too lenient.
With a one hundred and twenty-eight-fold increase in sensory perception, Alexander had plenty of ways to ensure these people’s Goodwill remained at one hundred.
Are they not afraid of tickling, cold, or heat? Everyone has something they fear. Under the enhancement of 128-fold sensation, even a mosquito bite could cause enormous torment.
With a hundred Teleportation arraies, plus other teleportation items, Alexander felt he now had more than enough for his purposes.
Stowing away the arraies, Alexander looked at the crowd with a smile.
"Mr. Alexander, do you have any further questions or orders?" Untold and the others shuddered as they asked. They had already developed a psychological shadow over Alexander’s smile.
"Don’t worry. I just want to know if you have the teleportation codes for other Ghost Cities, especially for the Seventh and Second Ghost Realms."
Hearing that Alexander’s intent was to wreak havoc elsewhere, the crowd sighed in relief. Untold quickly responded, "Yes, we do. The rate at which the Mist World is engulfing us has recently accelerated, so we’ve tightened our communication. I have records of several codes for the Third Ghost Realm. I also have the code for Explode City in the Seventh Ghost Realm."
Feeling a twisted satisfaction in betraying the Explode Ghost Emperor, Untold added, "You don’t even really need to know the codes. The codes below one thousand are likely from the Seventh Ghost Realm, and those beyond twenty thousand should be from the Second Ghost Realm. Arrays infected by the Mist can’t teleport, so you could just try a few times until you successfully teleport."
"Excellent, you’re smart," Alexander said with a gleam of joy. Turning to a duplicate, he commanded, "I’ll initiate the teleport. You go back and mobilize the troops. Each duplicate will be responsible for a unit; bring all the forces from Dark Hell here. It’s time to unify the Horror World!"
"As you wish," the duplicate responded, teleporting away with the Teleportation Array, sharing a field of vision with Alexander.
Alexander looked at Untold and said, "Let’s go. Lead me to the teleportation array. We’re welcoming the Dark Hell Army."
Untold, Isolde, Penelope, and the others were utterly stunned, mouths agape. They couldn’t believe what they had just heard.
It would have been one thing if Alexander was simply summoning reinforcements from Lake City, but his orders indicated plans to unify the Horror World!
Had they gone mad, or had Alexander?
The Horror World was immense. Even the First Ghost Realm, severely afflicted by the Mist World, likely had a population exceeding a trillion.
Unifying the Horror World? Was this not a form of madness?
