Chapter 328: Alexander is quite incredible, especially his tentacles
"Traitors, all of your are!" White Clothes’ fury reached a boiling point, her white gown billowing as her aura surged tremendously.
"Why the fuss, sister? Unless you awaken Father, you won’t be able to kill Alexander, not with us here," Blood Clothes shook her head. Releasing Alexander’s arm and joining Blizzard and the others, she added, somewhat wistfully,
"Are you sure you don’t want to give it a try? Alexander is quite incredible, especially his tentacles—"
Hearing this, White Clothes’ anger verged on erupting in a rampage. However, at that moment, the air temperature plummeted, frosting the ground. The white mist engulfing Cangshan City churned and parted as if commanded.
A youthful figure, his face a blend of naivety and innocence, emerged from the mist. Adjusting his glasses, a smile crossed his visage. Though miles away, his voice sounded as if he were right beside them. "White Clothes, long time no see!"
"Black Clothes, you’ve come after all," White Clothes’ wrath dissipated, replaced by a solemnity.
"Salutations to Black Clothes," Karin, Blood Clothes, and the others bowed simultaneously.
"I’ve given myself another name—Louis. What do you think?" Academic ghost Louis, also known as Black Clothes, took one step and instantly spanned the distance of several miles.
His ethereal aura ascended rapidly, nearly equaling White Clothes in intensity. Gone were his glasses and his youthful naiveté. What remained was a divine beauty.
"You...you’re a woman? And a Guardian at that?" Alexander was left stunned by the unfolding spectacle.
"What else did you expect?" Louis flashed a smile, her eyes twinkling as she looked at Alexander. "On the rooftop of Fierce Ghost Apartment, you stared at me for quite a while. Didn’t you notice anything then?"
Alexander suddenly felt awkward. He’d made a mistake—a mistake born from empiricism.
He had judged Louis to be male based on physique and the absence of a noticeable Adam’s apple. He had never questioned her gender. He’d forgotten that in Horror World, appearances could be altered at will.
"Hold on! If you’re a Guardian, then what’s the deal with Alice? Where did she go?" Alexander abruptly asked, as if a light bulb had gone off in his mind.
If Louis had been pulled into the cycle like White Clothes, and if Blizzard’s assistance to Alice was directed by Louis, and if Alice and Louis truly had a mother-daughter relationship, it all made sense.
However, Alice had existed in Horror World for thousands of years, while Louis had only appeared a few decades ago. If they were merely adoptive relatives, their resemblance was too uncanny to ignore.
"Actually..." Before Louis could respond, Blizzard interjected to clear up Alexander’s confusion. "Alice is Black Clothes. During the event at Fierce Ghost Apartment, Black Clothes had to protect Dark Hell but couldn’t act in her capacity as the city lord. Hence, Louis came into being."
"I see," Alexander exclaimed, enlightened.
"I prefer being Louis," Louis suddenly interjected, her eyes fixing on White Clothes, her tone unequivocal. "I’m taking him with me. If you disagree, Sister White Clothes, I’ll have no choice but to take you back into the cycle."
As soon as these words were spoken, six immense auras soared skyward. Karin, Blizzard, and the other three immediately took their places beside Louis.
"Or you could awaken Father now," Louis said.
White Clothes clenched her teeth tightly, pausing before she finally spoke. "Fine! Take him. It’s not the time for the final battle yet. Awaken Father? You should know what that means. Leave, and let me never see him in the Mist World again."
"Thank you, Sister White Clothes," Louis said, showing no signs of irritation at White Clothes’ hostility. She nodded with a smile, grabbed Alexander’s arm, and with a flash of light, they all disappeared from Cangshan City.
Watching them vanish, the anger on White Clothes’ face slowly ebbed away, replaced by a smile. "It seems this is the last time, huh? This pawn is quite significant. This time, I should be able to catch you all..."
.....
Aboard the airship, in cabin number 69. Six women and one man sat in silence, exchanging glances.
After a long pause, Louis spoke with a smile. "You must have a lot of questions."
Anyone in Alexander’s position would indeed be full of questions.
Why had they helped him? What were their objectives? And so on, like who exactly was the ’Father’ White Clothes referred to, what was the purpose of the Mist World, where did they come from, and so forth. At this moment, Alexander’s mind was filled with a myriad of ’whys.’
"I do have questions," Alexander admitted.
"Ask away. Anything we can answer now, we will," Louis assured him.
The other women also looked at him with welcoming smiles, prepared to answer whatever questions Alexander might have. Some answers were meant to be shared, while others were not.
"I only have one question. Can you answer it?" Alexander fixed his gaze on Louis, his expression grave.
"Just one?" Louis was taken aback before asking, "Do you want to know who the ’Father’ that White Clothes mentioned is? Or are you curious about the origins of the Mist World? Or perhaps why we’re protecting you?"
"None of the above," Alexander shook his head.
The women all looked curious, and Louis exclaimed, "Then what do you want to ask?"
"I want to ask..." Alexander’s eyes were fixed intently on Louis, and he spoke, emphasizing each word, "Have you ever had sex?"
"What?" Louis was stunned, and so were the other women. Alexander, with such a solemn face, was asking this question?
"Is this really what you want to ask?" Louis finally inquired, face stern.
"Yes!" Alexander nodded sincerely.
"Damn it!" Louis, Karin, and Blizzard all simultaneously burst out with a swear.
"How romantic!" Blood Clothes and Green Clothes, on the other hand, looked on with faces full of envy.
"I gave you a chance to ask, this is your own fault for not asking something else!" Louis grumbled.
"I did ask! Now answer me!" Alexander persisted.
The questions Louis mentioned were, as Alexander had said, unknown to anyone; be it the pawns or the players, he had never been an insider from the start.
It was all an act—who couldn’t play a role? In comparison, Alexander found this question far more interesting. His feelings for Louis were too unique; if he could have identified her as a woman back on the rooftop, he would have certainly pursued her.
"Get lost!" Louis snapped back, but not without a light blush appearing involuntarily on her cheeks.
She was blushing again!
....
Outside compartment 69 of the airship, a dozen people were rapidly approaching. They were all at the Ghost Emperor level, with half of them being inheritance Ghost Emperors.
Leading them was the city lord of the First Ghost Realm, Untold, whom they had met twice before.
"Untold, are you messing with us?" One of the Ghost Emperors in the group, skeptical, asked, "Is there really someone that amazing?"
"No bull! Who would lie to you, he’s like the Xiao fish that gets chewed every day! I saw it with my own eyes, this prodigy has freaking four Guardians in his room! One Blood Clothes, one Karin, and two others I don’t recognize, but you can guess they must be Guardians," Untold asserted confidently.
Upon hearing Untold’s definitive answer, the previously speaking Ghost Emperors, Zephyrina and Isolde, became hesitant and wondered, "If there’s someone that incredible, should we really be scheming against him?"
