Chapter 189: I just wanted to ask, do you need any organs?
An invitation from the City Lord’s Mansion!
In an instant, all the members of the Evil Ghost Association widened their eyes in shock.
The City Lord’s Mansion! In the minds of the average denizens of the Dark Hell, it was mysterious, powerful, and unattainably elite!
Now that Dr. Charles was revealing an invitation from such a prestigious entity, could it be fake?
The Flame King, the City Lord’s Mansion, and the head of the Fierce Ghost Association... They were all in cahoots!
Was it possible... even John Harington was one of them?
This was madness! The entire battle for supremacy in Fierce Ghost Street was rigged!
Members of the Evil Ghost Association began to speculate wildly.
"Peter, Hello Kitty, what do you think? Want to join our Fierce Ghost Association? I promise you’ll both be highly valued!" Alexander said with a chuckle.
"Dr. Charles, what are you implying?"
Peter abruptly interrupted, proclaiming, "I grew up in the Dark Hell. Everyone knows I’m a ghost of loyalty and honor. I respect you for your character, Dr. Charles. Would I oppose you if I wasn’t given a prominent position?"
Following suit, Hello Kitty remarked, "Am I perceived as someone who isn’t loyal? I’m joining the Fierce Ghost Association! Whatever you need, Dr. Charles — or should I say, Chairman Charles — just command!"
These two are truly the talents of the ghost world!
Moved by their declarations, Alexander pondered for a moment before continuing, "It’s heartening to see such loyalty. But I wonder what the other ghosts think?"
"We must join! I’ve always seen Dr. Charles as a great chosen one. I’ve been waiting for you to engrave me with a fierce Pikachu tattoo!"
"Shut up! Show some respect and address him as Chairman Charles!"
...
Voices from the crowd began to chime in with various statements. Many of them had been patients of Alexander in the past. Yet, the majority of them were early members of the Evil Ghost Association who had reaped considerable benefits.
Opportunists, every single one of them.
It would be naive to think that these ghosts hadn’t harbored suspicions about Alexander’s past actions at the Happiness Clinic. In truth, they probably had an inkling.
If Alexander had shown up alone without the backing of a thousand Fierce-level ghosts riding ghostly motorcycles, and without the powerful Full Moon, these ghosts wouldn’t have been so courteous. They might have outright demanded compensation.
But Alexander was also playing a part. He didn’t trust the feigned enthusiasm these ghosts displayed. That’s why he only dared descend from Full Moon after making clear his relationship with Louis.
The higher one’s status, the more considerations one has to make. This holds true whether for humans or ghosts.
At this moment, the former members of the Evil Ghost Association were convinced that the entire competition was a massive conspiracy. Naturally, they weren’t foolish enough to reject Alexander’s invitation.
Now, with such a great opportunity before them, it was only natural they’d make the smart choice.
The reactions of these ghosts did not surprise Alexander at all.
Without hesitation, he declared, "From now on, we’re all brothers! Come, let’s find the brethren you all duped into joining the Evil Ghost Association. We can’t just let them march to their doom!"
"loard Charles truly has a kind heart!" Peter gave a thumbs up in admiration. "There’s a group of members following us, roughly over twenty thousand. We were just sent ahead to scout the way!"
Twenty thousand?
Alexander’s eyes lit up instantly. "Hurry! Let’s bring our brothers home!"
A few kilometers away, the horde of twenty thousand ghosts Peter mentioned was on the move.
"Soren, why hasn’t Peter returned? You don’t think something has happened, do you?" A ghost, anxiously inquired, moving up beside the leading Soren.
"Seriously? They’ve probably sprinted ahead to grab the best bits for themselves!" An irritated Soren hypothesized.
Soren considered himself a star of Fierce Ghost Street, talented in singing, dancing, and even rap.
With a fan base mainly consisting of enthusiastic older female ghosts, he always expected to be the center of attention.
Yet, Peter, that cunning fellow, had dashed ahead, not even sparing him a soldier-ghost for company.
"Why do they get all the special treatment?" A ghost, her face grotesquely disturbed from a car accident, voiced her grievances. "They have no idea how hard my brother Soren works! Even though he has just one kidney, he practices his singing and dancing for 15 hours a day!"
Embarrassed by this revelation, Soren quickly intercepted, "It’s true that I practice hard daily. But the rumor about having only one kidney is false. I’ve regained all my organs! My power’s reached soldier level, and if I ever meet that damned doctor again, I swear I’ll turn him into pulp!"
"Wow, you’re so manly!" The fan-girl, despite her mangled face, looked at Soren with the only eye she had left, completely infatuated.
Soren smirked, attempting to flex and show off his muscles. Although his demeanor was somewhat effeminate, he was undeniably handsome.
His death had been rather mundane: a bungee jump turned fatal when he looked down and died of
sheer fright. his good looks Even in the ghost realm, Soren could easily pass off as a charming female ghost if he ever donned a dress and grew his hair out.
Due to his appeal, the Evil Ghost Association saw a surge in memberships, courtesy of Soren’s massive fan base. This delighted the Association’s higher-ups, elevating Soren directly to soldier grade.
"Soren, let’s catch up with them. We can’t let them hog all the benefits!" The fangirl, inspired by Soren’s display of valor, eagerly suggested.
"Catch up...with them?"
Hearing this, Soren suddenly seemed to lose his nerve.
Although Soren possessed the strength of a soldier-level ghost, his expertise was in singing and dancing. When it came to actual combat, he was out of his depth. His power probably wouldn’t even match a ghost of Fierce-level!
"There’s no rush, no rush at all!" he urged, "We need to be cautious, we must not be hasty!"
"Soren," a female ghost walking beside him began, "I heard that you were betrayed back in the day. The traitor was chosen one from Fierce Ghost Street. We might encounter him this time."
"That would be great!" Soren’s blood pressure skyrocketed at the mere mention of Charles. "If I ever run into that guy, I swear, I’ll grind him into pulp!"
Suddenly, the roar of a motorcycle engine echoed.
Startled, Soren was on the brink of fleeing. Looking in the direction of the noise, he saw a thousand motorcycles approaching steadily, with thousands of fierce ghosts trailing behind them.
Is that all? Soren thought, relieved. Seizing a rare opportunity to display bravado, he shouted, "Prepare for battle!"
But as he voiced these words, he began to retreat, looking as if he was about to disappear into the crowd.
Leading the pack, Alexander rode up on his bike named Full Moon. Recognizing him, Soren shouted angrily, "Charles, it’s you! I’ve finally found you!"
"You were looking for me? What for?" Alexander halted his motorcycle, his expression one of confusion. The face was vaguely familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it.
It was clear this ghost had a deep grudge against him, and a peaceful negotiation seemed unlikely with the twenty thousand behind him. A chilling aura began to emanate from Alexander, and the Full Moon motorcycle revved up once more.
Emerging from the bike was Full Moon, clothed in biking gear. Although small in stature, she nestled against Alexander, her gaze menacing as she stared down the crowd, with lightning energy circling around her.
Behind them, a thousand more motorcycles quickly arrived on the scene.
Soon after, Peter caught up, glaring threateningly at Soren, "So, effeminate, think you can lay a finger on my boss?"
"N-No, of course not!"
Soren shivered, quickly addressing Alexander, "It’s a misunderstanding, all a big misunderstanding! Brother, I’m Soren, the one who loves singing, dancing, and basketball!
I just wanted to ask, do you need any organs? I’ve grown mine back! And they’re still fresh!"
