Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 575: The Unseen Enemy

Chapter 575: The Unseen Enemy

"So, the undead are forming their own military army now." Li Kian said with a shiver.

"We will take whatever comes." Chu Miao couldn’t afford the mood of the survivors collapsing.

So, she brushed that statement casually but she did take it seriously in her heart.

"Let’s go."

Qi Long stepped forward to point the way.

"The survivors we recruited are waiting in a military bunker shown to us by one of them who happened to be a soldier before."

He handed Chu Miao a small device containing the coordinates.

"They’re about two hundred kilometers northeast of here."

Pei Ming looked relieved when he heard that.

"They aren’t that far."

Chu Miao scanned the coordinates briefly with divine sense, then nodded.

"We’ll teleport there. Everyone, get ready."

Chu Miao made some strange symbols with her hands and the space in front of them began to ripple.

After absorbing the dark energy from countless zombies and immortal qi from many crystal cores earlier, her control over space had improved dramatically.

Now, she didn’t need to use too much energy when teleporting a large group of people, unlike before.

As the others watched, a wormhole appeared in front of her like the gate to hell, or heaven.

"Alright, everyone, walk through the portal. It’s stable now." She said and gestured for the teammates to go ahead.

Without asking questions, Gu Fan took the first step and walked into the portal.

The others seeing him disappear in the blink of an eye, followed behind him

When they appeared again, the group found themselves standing in the ruins of an abandoned military base.

There were half-destroyed buildings around them and it seemed that the snow hadn’t gotten to this place.

Also, maybe because the zombies were dead, the snow was already melting.

Even though the whole place looked like a ruin, Chu Miao could still feel the signs of life below.

No wonder Qi Long had chosen this as the hiding spot.

It was difficult for enemies to find out that there was livable space below.

"They are still alive." Ye Xuan commented.

Qi Long heaved a sigh of relief.

"That’s great."

However, before they could approach, Chu Miao suddenly raised her hand.

"Wait."

Everyone froze instantly.

"What’s wrong, sister-in-law?" Pei Ming whispered.

Chu Miao’s eyes slowly swept across the surroundings.

"There’s something wrong here."

Gu Fan tightened his grip on his weapon.

"Are there more zombies?"

Chu Miao’s expression became colder.

"You could say that."

"What do you mean?" A regular superpower user within the team asked.

After all, they couldn’t use divine sense.

"You cannot just define these as zombies. They are more than that."

Ye Xuan and the others with cultivation also scanned around when they heard that.

"Level six or is it level seven zombies." Pei Ming commented.

Everyone else froze.

After the battle today, they listened to Chu Miao and the others discuss while collecting crystal cores and supplies.

They mentioned that level six zombies were almost identical to humans. And level seven would be even more difficult to tell apart.

And now, there were such zombies where survivors should be.

Qi Long’s face turned pale.

"....you don’t mean that....?"

"Yes." Chu Miao replied directly.

"Some of the people in that bunker aren’t survivors."

Gasps rang throughout the place before silence fell.

"They infiltrated the survivors?"

Li Kian whispered in disbelief.

Ye Xuan’s voice was calm but cold.

"That means the King has already started spreading agents among humans."

Pei Ming scratched his head slowly.

"That is horrifying."

If zombies had started living among humans, that means their plans would never succeed, because intelligence would be sent to the zombie army constantly.

Inside the bunker, hundreds of survivors were waiting nervously.

They had heard distant explosions earlier but didn’t know what had happened.

All they could do was to stay put where their rescuer had asked them to stay.

Suddenly...

One man standing near the bunker entrance tilted his head slightly.

His eyes flashed a brief red for a moment before going back to normal.

No one else noticed this small detail.

"Something’s wrong."

Another person beside him whispered.

"They came faster than expected. But that doesn’t change anything. We will follow the king’s orders."

His fingernails slowly extended into black claws as he said that.

Chu Miao’s divine sense remained locked on the bunker.

And just happened to hear that whispered conversation between two high-level zombies.

"There are twelve of them." she said thoughtfully.

For twelve evolved zombies to have sneaked and infiltrated the survivors, it was not easy.

The king was not playing.

"Twelve?" Li Kian repeated nervously.

"That is not a small number." Gu Fan commented.

"It looks like in the future when taking in survivors, we have to scan their bodies. Find out if they have crystal cores or any death energy on them." Pei Ming said seriously.

"Yes, don’t just take a look and assume they are humans."

Another survivor among the rescued team said.

Chu Miao used her mental energy to scan all the people around her, just to ensure that their team wasn’t infiltrated either.

Luckily, everyone there was a human.

"That explains why the King had us trapped in the city and wasn’t worried about the survivors escaping."

Pei Ming looked impressed.

"Wow! Zombie spies...."

"The apocalypse keeps getting weirder."

Qi Long clenched his fists.

"Then we will rescue the real survivors and eliminate all imposters." He said angrily.

Chu Miao had never seen him so angry.

Not even when his superior sent people after him to kill him when he left the base.

"Use your divine sense once you enter. I will try to use space domain to isolate the real survivors."

Chu Miao gave her orders and like always, everyone obeyed without questions.

Even though the place looked quiet and peaceful, who could have imagined that just below the surface, humans and monsters were standing side by side.

It was just that, the humans were clueless.

But maybe that was for the better.

At least, they wouldn’t panic and cause trouble.
