Chapter 73: Exalted Boss, Rewards
Chapter 73: Exalted Boss, Rewards
The air thinned as Axir ascended.
The Garden of Ages fell away beneath him, continents of scorched land shrinking into insignificance as the World Tree dominated his vision.
It was not merely tall.
It was absolute.
Its trunk stretched upward for one hundred kilometers, bark layered with rings of time so dense they bent light. Each ring represented an era, each pulse a civilization long erased. Roots thicker than mountain ranges spiraled upward and downward simultaneously, piercing space and history alike.
At its crown, something waited.
The Garden went silent.
Not even pressure screamed anymore.
And then, the announcement rang.
[ World Tree Core Guardian — Awakening. ]
The sky fractured.
A massive figure descended from within the crown, its form assembling from interwoven roots, radiant sap, and condensed laws.
Three cores burned within its chest, rotating in a slow, deliberate cycle.
Axir hovered before it, Blazing Blood stacks ticking.
Blazing Blood Stacks: 99
Vitality remaining: 7%.
The Guardian’s first core ignited.
A translucent shell of emerald-gold energy wrapped around its body, roots hardening into layered bulwarks of life and time. Regeneration flooded outward, restoring damage before it could properly register.
[ Phase One Active. ]
[ All damage reduced by 99%. Regeneration massively increased. ]
’My first Exalted Boss is you again.’ Axir grinned at the boss.
Exalted. The type of monsters above Champions.
These types had such high stats and skills that only players with strong decks that boosted their parameters, gave them defenses that prevented them from getting one-shotted, and damage high enough to hurt them could survive and fight against them.
[ Arborion Prime, the Guardian of the World Tree ] — Exalted Boss
Level: 500
Vitality: 10,000,000
Mana: 10,000,000
Constitution: 1,000,000
Agility: 100,000
Perception: 100,000
Arcane: 1,000,000
Axir exhaled. This boss had three phases. The first phase was tanky. And while it could take damage, it would debuff and poison players as well. It also had one more pesky immunity, though it wasn’t a problem for Axir.
Liberated Drift.
He had used Liberated Drift over a hundred times already since he triggered Liberated Forge Protocol six seconds ago and unleashed its hundred phantom weapon cards.
So he had already acquired 100 phantom weapon cards again.
Axes. Spears. Blades. Guns. Bows. Halberds. Staves. Hammers. Weapons manifested behind Axir like a cloak of destruction.
’Highest damage.’ Axir’s eyes glinted.
He wanted to make a new record of damage since he had distributed his stat points after reaching level 500 and equipped new gear.
[Axir Grimspire]
Level: 500
Power Level: 7,777,343
Vitality: 3360/42,000
Mana: 27,128/38,500
Constitution: 700 (+3500)
Agility: 600 (+3000)
Perception: 800 (+3500)
Arcane: 700 (+3150)
Luck: 48
Charm: 72
He raised his Perception further just to be able to perceive his own actions better and direct them. The boss’s 100 stats were juicy, and he was going to get them again once he defeated this final boss.
99 Blazing Blood stacks = 4950% boost to move speed, attack speed, and damage.
Sunlit Motion Engine = 500% action speed.
93% vitality loss gave him an additional 3999 Arcane from the Wailing Misery card.
93% vitality loss also gave him 3906 Agility.
With all that, his current movement speed was...
Mach 31,660.
Roughly 10,900 kilometers per second.
3.6% the speed of light.
And his swings per second were...
41,660 per second.
[ The boss is immune to damage-over-time status effects. ]
Axir knew it.
But he didn’t care.
Just the act of attacking with the blade dealt the basic attack damage of
100 + (100% Agility + 100% Arcane) per hit.
That was—
Attack = 100 + 7,506 + 7,849
Attack = 15,455 damage per hit.
15,455 × 41,660 = 643,857,300 damage per second.
[ Phase One Defeated. ]
One of the three cores in its chest shattered.
Axir floated in external inaction, but he could feel every cell in his body in motion as he reined in the power.
The boss took two seconds to change its phase as an unbreakable barrier protected it.
But two seconds later, Axir took one second to destroy Phase Two.
[ Phase Two Defeated. ]
Two seconds of break again.
Axir swung for one second.
[ Phase Three Defeated. ]
[ Congratulations. You have defeated the Exalted Boss — Arborion Prime, the Guardian of the World Tree. ]
Axir descended as the massive body of the boss fell.
Mist and air flowed before its body turned into sparks and vanished, leaving the drops behind.
[ Congratulations to Player Ace for being the first player to defeat an Exalted Boss. +100 stats. ]
The world chat exploded while Axir began looking over the loot.
[ Zahgrin: 100 stat points again! What the fuck? ]
[ PeePeeGunner: Just how strong is he right now?! ]
[ SagePoop: Can he destroy a mountain with a punch? ]
[ GodSlayer: Probably. Don’t know how strong those bosses are, so can’t say what stats they got. ]
[ ExpertGamer: According to my calculations, 10 Agility means you can swing a sword properly once per second. I can already swing eight times per second with 80 Agility once I got used to it. I tested it. So Player Ace could probably destroy a mountain with his punch if he has crazy stats and large boosts from cards at level 500. ]
[ MuMoYo: Indeed. I can vouch for the expert above. I was a professional swordsman before the game descended. In short flurries, I could swing three to four times per second, and normally two swings per second. But after the game reset stats and I only put 10 into Agility, my speed was lower than usual. I have a card that boosts my Agility by 100%, so I can swing 31 times per second at full power while equipped with agility-boost gear. ]
...
While the players talked, Axir took the loot and teleported.
In total, he acquired:
— 1 × Wisdom Tree Seed (Special)
— 1 × Card Constructor
— 1 × Random Prime 5-star card
— World Tree Guardian Armor Set (Prime 5-star | Mythic)
— Cradle of Ages Ring (Prime 5-star | Mythic)
He had obtained his first Mythic-quality items.
Those were only gained from level 500 and above Champion or higher monsters.
And lucky for him, one of the set items gave him 74 Luck.
Axir changed all his gear right away.
Cradle of Ages was good. He wore it and removed the previous ring. Although it gave the charm stat, it didn’t matter.
Luck was more important, so he could prioritize, but there was no need to focus on Charm unless it was required during a quest related to impressing NPCs.
The three set effects from the set were all passive, but top-class in increasing his survivability.
’Guess I am all set for the opening of Abyssal Gates.’
Axir arrived back at Suryax Kingdom Plaza and looked at the sky.
It was over.
He couldn’t level up anymore. It would only be possible tomorrow.
So only one thing remained.
Acquiring stat points by discovering dungeons.
’I should help the people of Earth progress faster now that I can.’ Axir grinned. He decided to share the locations of guilds after discovering them.
There was no point in hoarding them anyway.
’Wait.’ Axir looked at the friend list and saw that Jason was offline, but Selena wasn’t.
’Jason, oh Jason. What are you going to do?’
’You can’t harm anyone close to me with the protection I have set up. You can’t escape unless you go to outer space.’
’Just wait a bit. Wait until I discover all the dungeons I know the locations of.’
Axir licked his lips.
’One perfect stab. After I pierce you with it, I’ll send you to your father.’
’And then...’ Axir’s eyes flickered. ’Then what should I do?’
’It’s a waste to just kill pieces of trash like that. They must use their lives for something good while suffering.’
’Alright, that’s it. Got my next goal.’ Axir grinned.
’Before logging out, gather materials to create a crazy card that can forcibly mutate a living being into a monstrosity and put them under my control.’
