Chapter 326-Acting On My True Intentions.

Chapter 326-Acting On My True Intentions.

Lara:

It had been more than two weeks, and I was done trying to be nice to Lady Vivian and her daughter.

Every time I tried to talk about Zoe moving out, her mother would instantly bring up the fact that Zoe was still traumatized and wanted to stay with her brother, and I was getting fed up with it.

"At the dinner table today, you will tell Zoe that you want to leave because this place reminds you of the torture you went through here at the hands of Iris," I told Markus, warning him with my eyes that I would no longer tolerate any delay.

He sighed on the call, staying a little too silent because with that he would have to work harder to take care of his new home.

They were such parasites, trying to mooch off my husband and his hard-earned money.

As for Kash, he had drowned himself in work. Now that Iris was not around, he had to take care of the brand himself.

And his children were fucking annoying. I hated the sight of them.

I had secretly warned them not to scream or run around, but they would always go and hide behind Zoe or Lady Vivian, and they would immediately take their side.

"Um... fine, I will do it," Markus responded before ending the call.

I growled.

Iris was long gone. I no longer feared her return, but this family was unbelievably clingy.

They were still sticking to my husband.

"Lara, the food is served. Come eat with us."

Lady Vivian arrived, smiling at me.

My door was open, and she thought it was an invitation.

"Um, I don’t want to be rude or anything, but shouldn’t you knock before barging into someone’s room?" I said, a slight mockery in my tone.

Her smile began to fade before she forced another one.

"Of course. I’m so silly," she said, slapping her forehead, probably not fully understanding that I was insulting her.

Of course they had seen me being overly sweet before, so it was going to take them some time to realize that I was not supporting their stay here at all.

I got up and walked downstairs with her.

Once we reached the table, my mood soured when I saw that Zoe was already sitting there like it was still her home.

I hated her.

Why wouldn’t she leave?

She should start her family somewhere else.

Every time I watched her use Kash’s money, anger flared inside me.

"The kids are sleeping?" I asked Lady Vivian, who nodded her head.

"Yeah, I fed them early. They played a lot in the garden today, so they were tired," Lady Vivian said, mentioning that she had already put them down for a nap.

I sighed in relief.

"Shouldn’t you also take care of them a little bit?" Zoe said. "I mean, they are your husband’s children, and since you love Kash so much, I think you should also show some affection for his children."

That came from the loser of a bitch, Zoe, the woman who couldn’t even keep her husband faithful.

I stared at her, all smiles, and nodded my head.

It was the kind of nod I gave myself right before I ruined someone’s entire existence.

"Speaking of responsibilities, don’t you think, Zoe, you should move out now?" I mumbled, straightening my posture in my seat.

I was not hiding behind a facade of smiles or excuses.

While taking a bite of my food, I noticed everyone fell silent.

When I looked up, I realized Zoe was watching her mother’s face, as if silently asking if she was listening to what I was saying.

"What? Why are you looking at your mother for support?" I asked sternly, not hiding my exhaustion and annoyance.

"This is my brother’s place. I believe I can stay here for however long I want," Zoe replied rudely, making me clench my jaw.

"Why are you two arguing? You two have such a great connection. You used to be friends, remember?" Lady Vivian jumped in, trying to reunite her dear daughter and the daughter-in-law she believed was obedient to her.

"Lady Vivian, if you please, stop acting like we are teenagers," I snapped, watching her face go pale.

"Lara, why are you talking to me like this?" she questioned, shifting in her seat beside me.

"It is her brother’s home. She can stay here for however long she wants," Lady Vivian added this time in a stern voice.

Of course, I knew she was only nice to me as long as I kept pleasing them.

That was something I was not going to do.

"But she’s married now. She has a husband, and my husband has no responsibility to take care of her or her husband," I continued.

"In fact, my husband already has too many responsibilities. He has a child coming soon, and he also has two children who are now his responsibility."

I rolled my eyes when mentioning Amy and Colin.

Lady Vivian watched my face with shock on hers.

However, Zoe gave me a look that suggested she already knew I had been pretending to be nice to her mother.

Well, good for her. I saved her from the shock.

"Lara, maybe your pregnancy is messing with you," Lady Vivian commented, keeping her voice low as if reminding me that I should not forget who I was talking to.

"No, it’s not. It has been on the back of my mind this whole time," I replied.

"I was just hoping you would be sensitive enough to realize that you cannot put all the pressure on my husband. But since you cannot, I have to say it." I grunted.

"My husband does not work this hard so she and her husband can sit on their asses and mooch off him." Everyone’s jaw dropped.

"And this goes for you too," I snapped bluntly, annoyed that she was trying to control me.

Lady Vivian gasped and placed both hands over her mouth.

"Don’t act surprised. You can drive anyone crazy," I muttered, enjoying the look on her face.
