After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family

Chapter 396

Chapter 396

Qin Xian felt a bit awkward after Qin Jing’s dejected expression lingered on him. He couldn’t reveal the truth just yet, so he had no choice but to endure his younger brother’s somewhat resentful gaze.

Qin Chao, however, pressed on. “Breaking up over this? That’s even more suspicious. Qin Jing, you really need to think this through—it’s too fake.”

Qin Xiaoyu, unable to bear seeing her brother so upset, suggested, “Maybe she’s just… really quirky?”

Qin Chao rolled his eyes. “We can’t know what’s real unless we investigate. Let Second Brother help you find her. Once you meet her in person, you can decide if you want to patch things up.”

Wen Bo walked back just in time to hear this and froze in terror.

Luckily for him, Qin Jing shook his head. “No, I still want to respect her. Even if it turns out to be a scam later, at least I’ll know I respected our relationship.”

“You’re too… kindhearted,” Qin Chao muttered, nearly cursing out loud when he noticed Wen Bo visibly relax.

“Yes, respect is important,” Qin Xian finally said, his tone neutral.

Qin Jing forced a weak smile. “It’s my fault for wanting to meet her too eagerly. I should apologize and hope she forgives me.”

Wen Bo immediately softened and said, “I’m sure if you sincerely apologize, she’ll forgive you.”

"Are you kidding me?! Making Qin Jing apologize? You’re shameless!" Ji Fei thought, biting her tongue to keep quiet as she saw Qin Chao’s futile attempts to intervene.

"Maybe I should just steal his phone and expose everything to Qin Jing and Qin Xiaoyu myself," Ji Fei mused.

Qin Xian’s expression darkened slightly, signaling his own dissatisfaction. Out of nowhere, he asked for Wen Bo’s contact information.

Wen Bo looked startled. Even though he knew Qin Xian was asking for his “normal” number, the string of recent events had him on edge.

“There’s a game endorsement opportunity at Qin Corporation that I think you might be suitable for,” Qin Xian said calmly.

Ji Fei nearly exploded. "No way! Don’t give this scumbag an endorsement deal. If we expose him later, we’ll lose money!"

Qin Chao and Qin Rong exchanged glances but trusted that Qin Xian had a plan.

Qin Xian, sensing his wife’s frustration, gently patted her back while addressing Wen Bo. “Of course, there’ll be an interview process before any decisions are made.”

Qin Xiaoyu, thrilled that her boyfriend was being recognized by her Second Brother, excitedly encouraged Wen Bo to give his number. Wen Bo, realizing this could bring him closer to Qin Jing, eagerly complied.

“I’ll have my team contact you later,” Qin Xian said, pulling out his phone to make the arrangements.

Ji Fei leaned over to whisper, “He’s no good. I don’t like him.”

Qin Xian turned to her, whispering back, “Don’t worry. I just want to investigate who’s getting close to my family.”

Ji Fei’s irritation melted away, and she kissed him on the cheek. “Such a responsible big brother.”

The affectionate gesture caused Qin Xian’s body to tense briefly. With a darkened gaze, he returned the kiss, only for Ji Fei to get distracted again. "Hehe, once we uncover the truth, it’ll all fall into place. I hope it happens soon."

Unhappy with her wandering thoughts, Qin Xian bit her lip lightly, making everyone at the table awkwardly look away.

Soon after, Wen Bo received a text from the supposed Qin Corporation contact, asking him to review a contract. Although Wen Bo quickly clicked on the link, the document was too long to read immediately. The person assured him they could discuss the details tomorrow, so Wen Bo set his phone aside, unaware that it had already been compromised.

On Qin Xian’s end, everything was ready. He could monitor Wen Bo’s system and messages remotely, just waiting for the right moment to expose everything.

The evening’s entertainment continued, with the team captain inviting members to speak onstage. Qin Xiaoyu beamed with pride, watching her boyfriend bask in the spotlight. Qin Jing, however, sat glumly, staring at his phone.

The team decided to include a gaming interaction segment, allowing the audience to challenge members. Qin Xiaoyu asked if anyone at their table wanted to participate.

Ji Fei immediately declined, unwilling to showcase her skills on the big screen.

Out of nowhere, Qin Xian said, “Qin Chao wants to play.”

Caught off guard, Qin Chao blinked but quickly understood his brother’s silent cue. “Alright, I’ll challenge Wen Bo.”

Qin Xiaoyu laughed. “Prepare to lose.”

Qin Chao smirked. “We’ll see about that.”

Although Qin Chao didn’t know Qin Xian’s exact plan, he had a gut feeling that things were about to take a turn for the worse for Wen Bo.

The games began, with players connecting their phones to the big screen for everyone to watch. Even Wen’s mother, though clueless about the game, was part of the audience.

As Qin Jing continued to send apologetic texts and make calls, Wen Bo was in the middle of a match. Just as he skillfully landed another kill, prompting cheers from the crowd, a message notification suddenly popped up on the screen for all to see:

"Baby, I’m really sorry. You know I truly like you. Even if we can’t meet, I’m willing to wait. But my invitation to the family banquet was sincere. My sister’s bringing her boyfriend, and I’d be the only one alone. That’s why I got so anxious."

The moment the message appeared, the room fell silent. The festive atmosphere froze as everyone stared at the screen in shock.

Wen Bo’s mind went blank. Acting on instinct, he quickly swiped the notification away, but it was too late.

Qin Jing hadn’t noticed anything, but Qin Xiaoyu, seated nearby, had seen everything clearly. She was so stunned her brain short-circuited.

What was that?

Did it mean what she thought it meant?

There’s no way it’s just a coincidence. Who else could it be? And why would the message appear on Wen Bo’s phone?!

Even as her mind struggled to process, Qin Xiaoyu couldn’t deceive herself anymore.

Just as Wen Bo tried to act as if nothing had happened, continuing to play the game, Qin Xiaoyu shot up, rushed to the stage, and snatched his phone.

“Xiaoyu, no!” Wen Bo panicked, trying to grab it back, only to be blocked by Qin Chao, who had appeared behind him.

The audience erupted. They all knew Wen Bo and Qin Xiaoyu were dating, but the message clearly wasn’t from her.

Did their team captain cheat on his sponsor girlfriend? Was he two-timing while benefiting from her support?

And yet, no one expected that an even bigger bombshell was about to drop.
