Chapter 679: Oh no, so angry!
"She got a bit injured, it was Natalie Niles who did it.""Her whole family is now living in an old house in the countryside. Their neighbor is her uncle Robert Ginger’s family. We spent a little money, and Robert Ginger’s family spilled everything. The information is reliable, don’t worry."
"Also, when I was investigating, I happened to see Cora Ginger running to Peter Barnes’s house; the two might have reconciled. I’m still looking into the specifics."
Isabella Weaver finished reading and took a deep breath.
Those father and son are indeed con artists!
Isabella Weaver looked to Connor, who was driving in front, "Connor, did Cora’s brother and dad ask you to lend them money?"
Connor was surprised, "Young Madam, how did you know?"
"They also came to me."
Connor was just about to speak when Harry Hunter interrupted in a cold voice, "Don’t lend them any money! Both of you, don’t!"
Connor weakly replied, "Cora seems to be sick; I lent them a hundred thousand..."
"Do you have too much money to spend? Think I’ve given you too much? Acting like Prince Charming and throwing money everywhere? You’re crazy!"
Harry Hunter gave him a cold glance and then turned to Isabella Weaver, "Did you lend them money too?"
Isabella Weaver felt a chill down her spine from his icy gaze and quickly said, "I didn’t!"
Harry Hunter held her hand, "Good girl."
Isabella Weaver breathed a sigh of relief. She initially planned to lend them money but was angered by Zack Ginger’s attitude, so she didn’t.
Turns out the Eldest Young Master Hunter is quite stingy, even stingier than her. Connor lent them a hundred thousand and got scolded, while she almost lent them two hundred thousand.
As Harry Hunter withdrew his gaze, the pressure on Isabella Weaver dissipated, and her mind started working again.
"What Prince? Connor became Prince Charming?"
Connor laughed mischievously, "No, Young Madam, I’m still the Young Master’s bodyguard and driver!"
Isabella Weaver looked at him skeptically and then at Harry Hunter, but from the smiley Connor’s face and the icy expression of Harry Hunter, she couldn’t deduce anything.
She didn’t dwell on it and continued, "Connor, Cora is not sick. Her dad and brother lied, they’re scheming to cheat people out of money everywhere!"
"Not sick?"
Connor was a bit annoyed. What’s going on? They’re both deceiving him. Do they think he’s an easy mark?
"It’s odd; I lent Zack Ginger a hundred thousand, but he returned fifty thousand last night and sent me a message saying he’d return the rest in a few days."
Isabella Weaver paused, confused by this action.
Her mind was muddled, so she sought help from the brilliantly wise man beside her, "Husband, what’s going on? Why does this whole situation feel weird?"
"Let me see your phone."
Isabella Weaver instinctively handed her phone over.
Harry Hunter quickly scrolled through her text messages and read her conversation with Zoe Lewis, then asked calmly, "Connor, did Natalie Niles disappear last night?"
"Yes, don’t know where she went. When she returned, her back was soaked. I guess it was from her wound tearing and causing pain."
Isabella Weaver was shocked, "She’s staying at your place? She’s injured?"
Harry Hunter brought her closer, pulling her head to his chest, and holding her gently, said, "Natalie Niles went to beat someone up at the Ginger Family last night, that’s why they returned the money to you."
Connor was shocked this time, "Just for a hundred thousand dollars? She’s so badly injured, her eyesight only recently recovered, and she went out in the middle of the night to fight? She didn’t even claim back the thirty million she tossed into the Ginger Family before!"
Isabella Weaver now had a head full of question marks. What happened to Natalie Niles’s eyes?
Ah, so frustrating, these two know everything and don’t tell her a thing!
