Chapter 2533 - 2534: Yin Yang Master and the Crown Prince
Chapter 2533 - 2534: Yin Yang Master and the Crown Prince
Bai Ruozhu did not oppose this point; if a mistake is made, punishment must be accepted. Even if there are understandable reasons, a certain price should be paid.
The Astrologer soon released Yanzhi, and Bai Ruozhu observed that Yanzhi’s form had faded significantly, as if a mere breeze could disperse her.
Previously, when Ruozhu had seen Yanzhi, there was no noticeable difference from ordinary people, but now it was clear she was a demon.
How would a person become such a shadowy figure?
Yanzhi’s face was pale, and her eyes appeared spiritless. It seemed she had suffered greatly in the Locking Demon Bottle, or perhaps the process of purging malevolent Qi was highly painful.
"Master, is there news of my husband?" Yanzhi asked urgently upon identifying those before her.
"Not yet, but we’ve learned that someone conspired here to kill the old Patriarch of the Fushan Family, implicating both you and your husband. Therefore, Lord Bai petitioned for aid, intending to find a way to rescue your husband," said the Astrologer.
Yanzhi’s face brightened upon hearing this, and she hurriedly knelt and kowtowed. "Thank you, Master Astrologer, thank you, Lord Bai!"
"Don’t rush to thank us. Even if he’s rescued, he must go through punishment with you. Otherwise, if the malevolent Qi remains, he will eventually become a harmful demon," added the Astrologer.
"I understand. As long as we can be together, we’re willing to accept punishment," Yanzhi said while kowtowing twice more.
"Can you sense his location? Direct us so we can rescue him," Bai Ruozhu asked Yanzhi.
Yanzhi nodded, "I’ll try."
Yanzhi sat on the ground, her body forming an unusual posture as if it were a special stance used by demons to absorb lunar essence. She then chanted other spells, but Bai Ruozhu couldn’t understand a word.
"It’s the language of demons," Shanhu quietly explained to Bai Ruozhu.
Bai Ruozhu nodded, noting that although she could now understand much of the Fusang Language, she couldn’t comprehend even a bit; evidently, this was not a human language.
Before long, Shanhu opened her eyes and rose from the ground.
"He’s still at the Fushan Residence, and I can feel he’s in a lot of pain... very painful..." Yanzhi spoke as tears streamed down her cheeks, her form becoming even more ephemeral, almost on the verge of vanishing.
The Astrologer placed a talisman, "Enough, don’t speak any further lest he gets rescued only for you to disappear."
Bai Ruozhu quietly glanced at the Astrologer. Despite their reputation for being soft-hearted, the Astrologer wasn’t devoid of empathy, at least not holding a particular prejudice or disdain for demons.
Subsequently, everyone exchanged information, recounting the events Bai Ruozhu and others had experienced over the past few days. Meanwhile, the Astrologer’s team didn’t encounter anything particularly uncommon; they chased their target but ended up following an impostor, leading them to retrace their steps.
"So how should we enter the Fushan Residence now? Should we go publicly or stealthily?" the Astrologer sought Bai Ruozhu’s advice. Being open about this means revealing their identity, but it’s up to Bai Ruozhu to decide whether they’re willing to be exposed.
Bai Ruozhu pondered carefully and said, "We can enter openly, but we won’t show ourselves. I currently don’t want the Crown Prince to know that you and we are related, and I especially don’t want him to know I’ve come to Gangshan City."
"Alright, I’ll bring people over later then," the Astrologer agreed.
The Astrologer then proceeded to help Zhitian break the Yin Yang Curse, completing the task by afternoon. Following this, he took two attendants to the Fushan Residence.
"This is Master Astrologer, here upon hearing rumors of a fraud using his name for deception. He intends to investigate; does the Patriarch of the Fushan Family know anything?" one attendant addressed Fushan.
Confronting the Fushan Patriarch, the Astrologer showed no courtesy, maintaining a proud demeanor as his attendant spoke, not bothering to utter a word himself. The attendant’s expression was haughty, carrying hints of warning to the Fushan Patriarch.
Fushan’s expression shifted slightly, with a flicker of panic in his eyes. However, he quickly feigned surprise, "This is Master Astrologer? Well, I was truly deceived, and he even requested considerable payment from me!"
The attendant sternly reprimanded, "How dare you suspect my master? Now, tell us where that person is currently! Do not shield a charlatan!"
"He left days ago; I truly don’t dare deceive the master. That fraud swindled money from me; why on earth would I cover for him?" the Fushan Patriarch quickly replied, silently wiping away cold sweat, thankful the fellow had been sent away earlier, or his affairs would’ve been unearthed.
"Did he reside at your residence?" the Astrologer finally spoke.
Fushan hastily explained, "I really didn’t realize he was a fraud, so naturally, I hosted him kindly, allowing him to stay at the residence for a few days."
The Astrologer snorted, his cold aura startling Fushan.
"Lead the way; I want to see where he stayed," the Astrologer demanded.
"Uh..." Fushan hesitated, "We’ve tidied up the guest room where he stayed; it’s not in the state it was when he was here."
"When asked to lead the way, do so promptly. My master will surely locate clues, so don’t delay us!" the attendant asserted, showing no deference to Fushan.
Fushan ground his teeth, contemplating how his sister was also the Crown Prince’s concubine. What does a Yin Yang Master’s family head amount to, thinking they can boast here?
"Actually..." he dragged out his words, "The Crown Prince is currently residing temporarily at the residence, and no one is allowed to disturb him, so I truly can’t lead anyone to the backyard recklessly."
"Impudent!" the Astrologer scolded, "What’s going on in this residence? Not only is there someone impersonating me, but also daring to impersonate the Crown Prince. Why would a mere merchant host the Crown Prince here?"
Fushan felt a slight ego boost, thinking to test the Astrologer’s boldness further, and then revealed that his sister was the Crown Prince’s concubine and elaborated that the Crown Prince was here for mourning.
The Astrologer sneered, "If it truly is the Crown Prince, I can report to His Majesty about this later. It’s merely the father of a concubine, and he comes to mourn? Isn’t that an insult to the Imperial family’s image? The Fusang Royal Family traces its lineage to divine ancestors; why would they mourn foreign people?"
Fushan’s expression darkened as he suddenly recalled this contradiction.
"Stand aside; I want to see if it truly is the Crown Prince," the Astrologer declared, stepping forward. Fushan attempted to block him but was kicked to the ground by the Astrologer’s attendant.
He was now furious, pointing at them and shouting, "How dare you assault people! His Highness will surely stand up for me!"
The attendant mocked him with a laugh, "Really, now?"
The Astrologer ignored Fushan entirely, proceeding toward the backyard. The Fushan Residence’s guards intended to stop him but dared not act, all turning to Fushan for instruction.
Fushan clenched his teeth, refusing to believe that a mere Yin Yang Master could outweigh the Crown Prince!
"Men, block them!" he shouted.
The guards surged forward, surrounding the Astrologer and his group in the courtyard.
The Astrologer internally laughed coldly, thinking about the myriad evils committed by the Fushan Family. Perhaps they feared retribution, which is why they maintained so many guards; such numbers were rarely seen even in the residences of aristocrats in the Capital.
