Chapter 169 : Prepare Gift
Chapter 169 : Prepare Gift
A Long, Long Night
The long night stretched on. While some slept soundly, others tossed and turned, unable to rest.
He flipped back and forth in bed, not falling asleep until three in the morning. If he had slept through until noon, that might’ve been fine. But instead, he was jolted awake by a particularly sweet dream, laughing out loud as he did.
“Haha… Bro, you smell so good… Uh.”
Zhang Deyi opened his eyes and was greeted by a familiar sight within the bed curtain—only then realizing he had been dreaming.
“C.”
“7:47.”
Squinting at the glowing screen, Zhang Deyi muttered with a gloomy expression. Seeing that it was still early, he decided to turn over and go back to sleep. Maybe, just maybe, he could slip back into that dream again...
But no matter how he turned, he just couldn’t fall asleep.
By this point, Zhang Deyi felt on the verge of a mental breakdown. He suspected he had developed some kind of compulsive overthinking disorder.
And it all started because of a single post on Moments at 7 p.m. the night before.
He’d marked Su Yun as a “special concern” on WeChat, thinking he could track what she was studying by checking their chats. But out of nowhere, Su Yun—whose WeChat Moments had always been a ghost town—suddenly posted something.
Being the concerned bro that he was, Zhang Deyi clicked on it immediately.
And what he saw… left a mark on his soul that would never fade.
It was a selfie of the campus goddess and the school beauty—pressed closely together, making a heart sign with their hands.
Zhang Deyi felt like the heart gesture was aimed directly at him through the screen. The image was so beautiful, it nearly made his soy milk spill.
Of course, that wasn’t the real reason he couldn’t sleep.
“…Can’t sleep.”
Ten minutes passed and he still wasn’t asleep. Giving up, Zhang Deyi climbed out of bed. This was the earliest he had gotten up in half a month.
After a quick wash to clear his head, he sat down at his desk and pulled out his phone.
He scrolled and scrolled until he finally found an old photo of him and Su Yun.
It was from the Modern History final project—they had to go to the museum to research. That was the only time Su Yun had ever gone out with them.
Zhang Deyi stared intently at the picture, his eyes tracing every detail of Su Yun’s figure reflected in his pupils.
One minute passed.
He didn’t move.
Five minutes passed.
Still motionless.
Ten minutes…
He was done.
As in, he was done observing.
“She doesn’t really look like it... Bro Yun might be thin, but he’s definitely lean and muscular. Look at those arms—rock solid.” Zhang Deyi couldn’t take his eyes off those masculine muscles for quite a while.
If Bro Yun really looked that good in women’s clothing… well, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. No! Wait!
What was he even thinking?
Zhang Deyi put down his phone and shook his head furiously.
There was no way he wanted to go head-to-head with another guy… right?
But even after staring so long, he still couldn’t shake the doubts in his heart.
What doubt?
He suspected that Bro Yun had dressed up as a girl to make his girlfriend happy.
That school beauty’s joyful face… Bro Yun in a dress… It all lined up.
After all, that selfie on Moments? It definitely didn’t look like someone else took it. It had to be the person himself.
And it perfectly matched what Liu Fei had once said to him.
If that were the case, then all those times he’d spoken to Bro Yun about how much he cared for the goddess…
Bro Yun probably thought he was a disgusting pervert.
And that was one of the main reasons Zhang Deyi couldn’t sleep.
But just now, he had examined everything closely. The arms, the height, even a mole on Bro Yun’s face—none of it matched.
Could it be that Bro Yun was secretly seeing two people?
Zhang Deyi felt like he couldn’t accept either possibility, and spiraled into despair. He’d already messaged Bro Yun on both WeChat and QQ.
He couldn’t help it. He had to know. So he asked directly:
(Bro Yun, are you with Snow White?)
But hours had gone by with no reply. Zhang Deyi was on the verge of a breakdown.
“Could Bro Yun in drag really be that pretty…? No, it doesn’t seem right.”
In the class, Su Yun was usually a total nobody, a background character. But dressed as a girl, she had magically transformed into the campus belle.
And previously, he hadn’t even noticed this invisible classmate.
Now, that invisible classmate was coming back in a dress—to return the favor.
(Purely a product of Zhang Deyi’s overactive imagination.)
“Heh. Hehehe.”
His mouth hung slightly open. For some reason, his pants were moving.
“No, I…”
Cold sweat beaded across Zhang Deyi’s forehead in an instant. He felt that if he kept thinking like this, he might just lose control and do something stupid in the bathroom.
He had to get his mind off this.
So he quickly shifted his attention to something else that had happened recently.
Also from last night.
Chen Tingting had been exposed.
Within just half a day, practically the entire school was talking about her.
What happened was simple.
To put it bluntly, Chen Tingting’s entire private (meow) life had been exposed by her own roommate—on the confession wall.
She’d been dating over a dozen guys at once, partying every night, returning to the dorm only after 11 p.m.
Labels like that were utterly reputation-destroying for a female student.
And the whole scandal had started because Chen Tingting had bullied her roommate, who then aired everything out on the confession wall.
The video of the fight didn’t look fake.
With that kind of overwhelming “buff stack,” Zhang Deyi figured Chen Tingting wouldn’t last much longer at school.
Even if she wasn’t expelled… the timing of it all was too “coincidental.” Normally, confession wall posts didn’t gain much traction. The heat just didn’t build.
But this time, someone had specifically posted a detailed video breakdown. It felt like someone wanted to take her down.
Thinking of her downfall, Zhang Deyi’s eyes actually welled with tears.
It was just… too good!
After all the emotional manipulation he had endured, nearly throwing away his college future for her—there was no way he didn’t hold a grudge.
Still, he didn’t actually want to see Chen Tingting become a victim of internet bullying.
They’d spent six months together. Even as a loyal simp, he’d learned a bit about her.
He figured she was probably fragile inside. If something like this made her jump off a building…
Well, he didn’t want that.
All he could say was—he wouldn’t add fuel to the fire.
“Finally stopped thinking about that…”
With his mind finally emptied out, Zhang Deyi eagerly climbed back into bed.
Time to get back into that dream!
Meanwhile.
In a rather cramped little room, Su Yun lay sprawled across a fluffy comforter, convinced that this had been her best night’s sleep ever.
It was so comfortable that she didn’t wake up until nearly 11 a.m.
“So soft… Hehe.” Still in a daze, Su Yun wriggled toward wherever felt most comfy.
Her hand brushed across a soft, round curve, which she instinctively squeezed.
Then, still half-asleep, she buried her head into a large plush pillow for another ten seconds.
“Ugh… my eyes…”
She blinked her sleepy eyes open—and was met with the sight of a bulging white dress shirt.
Beneath it… there was a faint, rosy tint.
“?”
Ugh. What a misunderstanding...
Flustered, Su Yun buried her head deeper under the blanket.
It wasn’t until she caught the familiar milky scent that belonged solely to Qin Xue that she fully realized what she had been doing.
“…”
In that instant, her entire body went rigid.
This wasn’t the time to panic.
Staying calm, Su Yun peeked out from the older girl’s warm embrace, spotting her closed, beautiful eyes.
Sister Xue was still asleep. Thank goodness.
She immediately tucked in all her limbs, planning to shrink her body and slip out from beneath the blanket like some martial arts master escaping a trap.
“Don’t go, wifey… Keep… keep touching me…”
Just as Su Yun was halfway through the escape maneuver, a sleepy yet seductive female voice drifted down above her.
“?????”
Su Yun froze, terrified.
Did Sister Xue just… call her wifey?
Had she been caught?!
Her cheeks were burning, but she didn’t crawl back in. Instead, she kept wriggling downward until she finally emerged from the blanket.
Standing beside the bed, Su Yun saw that her previous position had now been taken up by a bundle of blankets.
“Hmph, Sister Xue was talking in her sleep.”
“Whew…” Su Yun let out a sigh of relief.
To be honest, she still didn’t feel like what happened yesterday was real. It was like just a moment ago, Sister Xue had still been that gentle older sister.
Would being in a relationship really feel any different from having a close bestie?
Just as she had that thought, Su Yun subconsciously squeezed her thighs together.
“…Okay, maybe a little different.”
“Big piggy, keep sleeping.”
Before heading out the door, Su Yun stuck out her tongue at the slumbering girl on the bed in a playful gesture.
Once she reached the living room, she sat quietly on a chair, lost in thought.
She remembered from videos she’d seen before—wasn’t this the kind of time when you were supposed to give your partner a gift?
Yesterday had been a rush. Today seemed like the perfect time to prepare.
But… what kind of gift would Sister Xue like?
