After she visited the Phantom Assassin Guild, Jane returned to the Sparks Mansion while Mr. Hiroshi and Kazuki proceeded to the villa arranged for them by Nathan. Abigail would be staying with them for a while.
Jane was unusually quiet as she entered the house. Ethan immediately noticed her dispirited mood.
"Mom, are you okay? What's wrong? Why are you sad?" Ethan softly asked her, giving her a hug.
Jane smiled faintly, stroking Ethan's hair.
"Mommy is fine, Baby. I'm just tired." Jane was still affected after learning the truth, but she didn't want to dwell on it any longer. Forgiving Mrs. Frost was one way to unload her emotional baggage. She had something more important to focus on– dealing with Monica.
"By the way, where is your Dad?" Jane searched for Nathan.
"I saw him talking to Uncle Axel earlier. They were accompanied by his colleagues. They went out for an important meeting. He will be back in an hour." Jane pouted her lips. She wanted to see Nathan. She needed to recharge. But since Ethan was there, her mood finally brightened up.
"Let's go upstairs, my dear son. I'm going to teach you how to play our favorite video games." Jane decided to relax and unwind. Her son was her happy pill.
The two of them headed to Ethan's playroom. They started to play as Jane opened up a conversation with him.
"Baby, you must stay at home with Mommy and Daddy, okay? Don't leave the house without informing us." Jane was very cautious. Black Rose and the other ladies informed her that Monica planned to kidnap Ethan next.
"Yes, Mom. I won't go anywhere without you and Dad. I'll stay by your side. I don't want to be separated from either of you." Ethan reassured her. "I won't do anything reckless. I promise."
"Oh. My smart boy." Jane cupped his charming face and kissed him.
"Of course, I'm your son. Like mother like son!"
Jane giggled. "Eh. It should be like father like son."
But Ethan stuck his tongue out. "No. I want to be like my mommy!"
Nathan's eyebrows twitched when he heard that. "I won't swim. I'll just accompany you."
Ethan raised his eyebrow and said, "Are you letting Mommy and I swim alone in the vast ocean? She brings her sexy bikini."
Nathan fell silent, glancing at Jane with an indescribable expression. After a few seconds, he grabbed his phone and dialed Axel's number.
"Axel... reserve me a yacht. We are going to the beach." Nathan ordered Axel urgently.
Both Jane and Ethan watched him in puzzlement.
"Dad, why did you ask for a yacht?" Ethan asked him expectantly.
Nathan glanced at Jane meaningfully and said matter-of-factly, "I can't let other guys see your mommy in her bikini."
Jane was at a loss for words. She didn't expect to hear that from Nathan.
Meanwhile, Ethan giggled, giving his father two thumbs up!
"Dad! You are the best. I love your idea. It only means you only want Mommy to wear her bikini in front of you. So clever, Dad! So clever." Ethan started teasing the two.
Nathan maintained his neutral expression. He neither denied nor confirmed it. Instead, he held Ethan's hand and placed his other hand on Jane's back. "Let's go. We can stay by the sea overnight."
Jane could only follow him with a satisfied smile. She had already noticed the changes in the way Nathan treated her—he was becoming softer and sweeter.
'Damn, Nate. You're a sweet talker! You make me want to ravish you right now. You're making my heart go wild,' Jane thought to herself, feeling her heartbeat race. Her cheeks blushed as she imagined spending quality time with Nathan.
'Gosh. What the hell am I thinking? Ethan is with us. I need to behave.' Jane reprimanded herself inwardly.
They were at the door when Nathan whispered to her in his husky voice. "I'm looking forward to seeing you in your sexy bikini."
Jane's cheeks reddened further and she felt goosebumps spreading across her spine. When she gazed at him, she caught Nathan's mischievous smile.
'Damn you, Nate. You are such a tease!'
