"I will avenge your mother's death," Mr. Hiroshi mumbled with conviction.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Frost snatched the knife from Mystique's hand. She handed it over to Jane.
"I know I must pay for my crime. Jane... I understand if you can't forgive me. Nothing can justify my actions. I took away the precious person in your life. I can only give you my life, in return. I will appreciate it if I will die in your hands." Mrs. Frost closed her eyes. She was willing to die to pay for her sin.
Jane gripped the knife tightly as she stared at Mrs. Frost. She was in pain right now, hurt by her betrayal. But she couldn't bring herself to kill Mrs. Frost.
Jane was raised by her. She filled the gap in her heart when Mrs. Frost acted as her mother. Furthermore, she knew the life of an assassin.
Just like Mrs. Frost, Jane had killed so many people. And they were both following an order from their clients, in exchange for money. It was their way to survive and live.
Mrs. Frost killed her mother since she was the one who received the job order. Of course, she hated her. But at the same time, she still owed her. Mrs. Frost saved her life and took care of her.
Jane dropped the knife to the floor as she crouched down, pulling Mrs. Frost up.
"I won't kill you. I owed you my life. We are now even."
After saying that, Jane turned to her father. "Pa... I have no right to judge Mrs. Frost. Because just like her... I had become an assassin. My alias... is Phantomflake." Jane confessed to her father.
"Both of us killed for money," she added and smiled bitterly.
