Zombolution: Unleash the Undying Power

Chapter 88: Meeting Former Teammates

Chapter 88: Meeting Former Teammates

Zorvax’s progression through the labyrinthine corridors of the human base was marked by an eerie silence. His footsteps, despite his size and strength, were barely audible, even to his own keen ears.

The walls surrounding him were cold, impersonal, and unwelcoming, a harsh contrast to the raging chaos outside. He moved with the grace and precision of a predator, each step calculated, every sense heightened, and every instinct sharply honed.

Navigating the dimly lit hallways, Zorvax’s destination was not yet clear, but his movements were purposeful, guided by an internal compass shaped by years of survival and combat. The journey through the base was like navigating a complex puzzle, but Zorvax was undeterred, his focus unshakable.

Eventually, Zorvax arrived at a nondescript door, indistinguishable from the countless others he had passed. He paused briefly, his hand resting on the handle, a sense of anticipation coursing through him. With a swift, fluid motion, he pushed the door open and stepped into the room beyond.

The room, cloaked in an oppressive darkness, seemed to swallow the faint light from the hallway. Zorvax’s bionic eyes, however, pierced through the gloom, rapidly adjusting to the lack of light. He scrutinized every corner of the room, searching for any signs of danger. Despite the apparent emptiness, the charged silence hinted at hidden threats.

His instincts, honed over countless battles, suddenly flared a warning. Reacting with almost supernatural speed, Zorvax dodged to the side as a bullet sliced through the air where he had just been. The sound of the gunshot, loud and jarring, echoed off the walls, heightening the tension in the room.

Then, cutting through the lingering echoes of the gunshot, a voice, laced with mockery and contempt, rang out. "So, the infiltrator thinks he can just waltz in here," sneered Sera from the shadows.

Zorvax’s muscles coiled in readiness, his mind racing. The voice was unmistakably Sera’s, dripping with disdain. "Sera," he acknowledged quietly, his tone betraying no emotion.

Before he could further assess the situation, a sudden force slammed into him. The impact sent him crashing to the floor, the air knocked from his lungs. Brock’s presence was unmistakable – his brute strength had always been his defining characteristic.

As Zorvax struggled to regain his footing, a blinding light filled the room, followed by an intense heat engulfing him. Alicia’s fiery attack was as swift as it was ferocious. Zorvax could feel the heat scorching his skin, the flames licking at his body.

Despite the onslaught, a wry smile touched Zorvax’s lips. "The whole gang’s here," he thought, a touch of irony coloring his internal monologue. They were oblivious to the fact that their target was their former teammate, a fact that Zorvax found bitterly amusing.

Sera’s voice taunted him again from the darkness. "What’s wrong, infiltrator? Can’t keep up?" Her words were sharp, designed to provoke.

Brock, looming somewhere in the shadows, let out a deep, mocking laugh. "Looks like this one’s not as tough as we thought," he jeered, his voice echoing menacingly in the confined space.

Alicia, her voice cold and detached, added, "Let’s finish this quickly. I have better things to do than deal with intruders."

Zorvax rose to his feet, his body language calm and composed despite the attack. To his former teammates, he was just another enemy. They had no clue they were facing Zorvax, their past ally.

Now intermittently lit by the flames of Alicia’s attacks, the room cast eerie, dancing shadows across the walls. Zorvax’s eyes, glowing faintly, scanned the room, pinpointing the locations of his assailants.

In the dimly lit room, the tension was palpable. Brock, fueled by adrenaline and determination, charged again at Zorvax. His movements were a blur, his body enhanced by bionic strength, making him a formidable opponent.

Sera, utilizing her superior eyesight, pinpointed Zorvax’s location for Brock. "He’s to your left!" she called out, her voice sharp and focused.

But this time, Zorvax was ready. A smile crept onto his face as he anticipated Brock’s move. As Brock lunged towards him, Zorvax swiftly sidestepped and caught him in a firm grip. The speed and precision of his movement were a testament to his own enhanced abilities.

Brock’s shock was evident. His eyes widened in disbelief as Zorvax easily countered his attack. "What the—?" Brock stammered, caught off guard.

With a fluid motion, Zorvax used Brock’s momentum against him, slamming him down onto the hard floor. The impact resonated through the room, a clear sign of Zorvax’s strength.

Sera and Alicia, witnessing the scene, were stunned. Brock, known for his physical prowess and further augmented by bionic enhancements, was rarely bested in combat. "How did he—" Alicia started, her voice trailing off in disbelief.

Sera, her eyes narrowed, studied Zorvax more closely. "There’s something different about him," she muttered, a hint of uncertainty in her tone.

Brock, lying on the ground, grunted as he pushed himself up. "This guy’s no ordinary intruder," he growled, his pride wounded but his resolve unshaken.

Zorvax, standing over Brock, remained calm. His expression was one of cold determination, his eyes focused and alert. "You’re out of your league, human," Zorvax said coolly, his voice betraying no emotion.

Sera, stepping forward, readied herself. "Don’t underestimate us," she warned, her stance defensive yet poised for attack. Her eyes flickered with a mix of anger and determination.

Alicia, recovering from her initial shock, summoned flames to her hands, the light casting flickering shadows across her face. "We’re not done yet," she declared, the flames reflecting in her eyes.

Zorvax, prepared for their next move, stood ready. He knew he couldn’t underestimate his former teammates. Despite their past, they were now his adversaries, and he had to be prepared for anything they might throw at him.

The room, charged with the energy of the impending battle, seemed to shrink as the tension mounted. Each combatant was acutely aware of the others, their senses heightened, their reflexes primed.

In this standoff, past alliances were forgotten, replaced by the harsh reality of their current situation. Zorvax, once a member of their team, was now their enemy, and they were determined to stop him at all costs.

But Zorvax was not deterred. His mission to find Ophelia overshadowed everything else. He was ready to confront whatever challenges Brock, Sera, and Alicia presented. The path ahead was fraught with danger, but Zorvax was undaunted. He was more than just a bionic zombie; he was a warrior driven by a singular purpose, and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goal.
