Zombolution: Unleash the Undying Power

Chapter 85: The End of Beta

Chapter 85: The End of Beta

The battlefield had transformed into an arena for the epic confrontation between Zorvax and Beta. Zorvax, with his right arm transformed into a cannon, unleashed a barrage of shots, each one powered by the level 2 zombie cores he had collected. His face was a mask of concentration, his eyes locked on Beta with unwavering focus.

Beta, displaying agility that belied his enhanced form, dodged the oncoming attacks. His movements were swift, a blur against the backdrop of the raging battle. With each evasion, he countered, his flame sword slashing through the air, sending waves of fire towards Zorvax.

But Zorvax was equally adept at dodging. He moved with a grace that seemed almost unnatural, his body weaving through the attacks with an ease that frustrated Beta. "You’re quick, I’ll give you that," Beta grunted, launching another series of attacks.

Zorvax, in response, merely smirked. "It’s going to take more than fire to stop me," he retorted, his voice steady even as he continued to fire his cannon.

Their duel was a spectacle of speed and power, a relentless exchange of blows and counterblows. The intensity of their fight was such that it created a vortex of destruction around them. Zombies and bionic humans alike were caught in the crossfire, unable to escape the ferocity of their leaders’ battle.

As Zorvax fired another shot, Beta deflected it with a swift swing of his sword, the impact sending a shockwave that rippled through the nearby combatants. The air was filled with the sounds of their struggle – the booming of Zorvax’s cannon, the whoosh of Beta’s flame sword, and the cries of the fallen.

The ground around them was littered with the bodies of zombies and bionic humans, casualties of their relentless fight. The smoke and dust from the battle hung heavy in the air, but neither Zorvax nor Beta showed any signs of fatigue.

"This ends now!" Beta’s roar thundered across the battlefield, resonating with a determination that seemed to shake the very air. He surged forward, his flame sword ablaze, cutting a fiery arc through the sky.

Zorvax, his eyes narrowing in concentration, responded with remarkable agility. He executed a swift, fluid backbend, dodging the deadly blade by mere inches. The heat from the sword left a trail of singed air above him, a testament to the closeness of the strike.

Seizing the moment, Zorvax reached into his pocket, drawing out two level 2 zombie cores. His eyes, still fixed on Beta, flashed with resolve. "Time to up the game," he declared his voice a calm contrast to the chaos around them.

As he consumed the cores, a surge of energy rippled through his body. His hands began a startling transformation, flesh and bone metamorphosing into gleaming metallic cannons. The barrels, menacing and precise, pointed unwaveringly at Beta. The sight was both mesmerizing and terrifying, a stark display of Zorvax’s power.

A sinister smile crept across Zorvax’s lips. "Checkmate," he sneered, his voice dripping with confidence and a hint of malice.

Beta, momentarily caught off guard by the dramatic transformation, let out a curse. "Damn you, Zombie," he growled, his eyes flickering between Zorvax’s face and the deadly cannons now aimed at him.

Zorvax’s response was immediate and ruthless. He unleashed the fury of his newly formed cannons. Twin blasts of concentrated energy erupted, tearing through the air with a deafening roar aimed straight at Beta.

Instinctively, Beta sprang into action, leaping to the side with agility belying his size. The blasts missed him by inches, their force so immense they sent him hurtling through the air. He crashed against the solid dome of the human camp, the impact resounding through the area like a thunderclap. Dust and debris rose into the air, momentarily obscuring the scene.

As the dust and debris began to settle, Zorvax approached the fallen figure of Beta, his steps heavy with purpose. The air was thick with tension, the aftermath of their fierce confrontation.

Standing over Beta, Zorvax’s voice was a blade of ice. "Where’s Ophelia?" he demanded, his tone brooking no argument.

Beta, lying amidst the rubble, coughed as he struggled to prop himself up on one elbow. His face, smeared with dirt and blood, twisted into a defiant sneer. "She’s not here," he managed to spit out, his voice a ragged growl of defiance.

Zorvax’s eyes narrowed, the intensity in them burning like coals. "Where is she?" he pressed, each word laced with a lethal calm.

Beta, locking eyes with Zorvax, replied with scorn. "Over my dead body," he challenged, his voice carrying the weight of his resolve.

The standoff between them was palpable. Zorvax, his arm transformed into a cannon, aimed it directly at Beta. The air seemed to crackle with energy, charged with the impending threat.

Beta, despite the pain and his battered state, glared back with unwavering determination. "You won’t find her, not without going through me," he said, his voice a blend of defiance and resignation, acknowledging the gravity of his situation.

In the suspended moment, Zorvax’s finger hovered over the trigger. A smirk curled the edge of his lips as he made his decision. With a swift movement, he fired the cannon, the blast piercing the air towards Beta.

The shot hit with devastating accuracy, propelling Beta backward with violent force. His body crashed against the dome once more, the sound resonating like a thunderclap across the battlefield.

As Beta lay there, defeated and broken, the area around them fell into an eerie silence. The other combatants, both zombies and humans, ceased their fighting momentarily, their eyes drawn to the outcome of the duel between their leaders.

Zorvax stood over Beta, his cannons still emitting wisps of smoke. His victory was undeniable, but his expression was one of frustration rather than triumph. The question of Ophelia’s whereabouts weighed heavily on him.

"Where have you hidden her, Beta? Tell me!" Zorvax demanded, his voice echoing in the sudden quiet of the battlefield.

Beta, with what little strength he had left, laughed bitterly. "You think you’ve won, Zorvax? The game is far from over. Ophelia... she’s beyond your reach."

Zorvax’s jaw clenched, his frustration mounting. He leaned in closer, his cannon still aimed at Beta. "I’ll ask one last time. Where. Is. She?"

Beta, his eyes fading, whispered, "Find her... if you can." With those final words, his head slumped to the side, his consciousness slipping away.

Zorvax straightened up, his gaze sweeping over the battlefield. The silence was slowly replaced by the resumed sounds of combat, but for Zorvax, the noise was a distant hum. His mind was racing, piecing together the puzzle to find Ophelia’s location.

With a final, lingering look at Beta, Zorvax turned and strode away. His determination was as strong as ever, his resolve unshaken. He knew his search for Ophelia was far from over, and he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
