Zombolution: Unleash the Undying Power

Chapter 71: Level 2 Regeneration Potion

Chapter 71: Level 2 Regeneration Potion

Zorvax, with only half of his body remaining, lay on the ground, his breathing steady despite his condition. Ophelia lay beside him, equally spent. Their exhaustion was not physical; it was mental fatigue from the intense battle they had just endured.

Zorvax turned his head slightly towards Ophelia. "I guess it’s time to use some of those zombie points," he said, his voice weak but tinged with a hint of humour. His face, though half-gone, still managed to convey a sense of resilience.

Ophelia, lying there, managed a tired smile. "Good thing you’ve been saving them up," she replied, her tone light despite the gravity of their situation.

Zorvax reached into his pocket and pulled out a small vial - a regeneration potion he had bought from the shop for 2000 zombie points. His movements were slow but purposeful. He looked at the potion with curiosity and hope in his eyes. "Never thought I’d need to use one of these," he remarked, a wry smile on his lips.

Carefully, he injected the potion into his remaining body. Almost immediately, his body began to regenerate at a rapid pace. Zorvax watched in amazement as his flesh started to knit back together, a look of wonder crossing his face. "I knew these potions were good, but I didn’t expect this," he said, his voice growing stronger with each passing moment.

Ophelia propped herself up on one elbow, watching the regeneration process. "Looks like you’ll be back on your feet in no time," she commented, relief evident in her voice. Her expression softened as she saw Zorvax recovering.

As Zorvax’s body finished healing, he sat up, marvelling at the effectiveness of the regeneration potion. He flexed his fingers, testing his newly regenerated limbs, a look of pleasant surprise on his face. "Feels good as new," he commented, his voice carrying a note of relief. He turned to Ophelia, his eyes showing genuine gratitude. "Thanks, Ophelia. Couldn’t have done it without you."

Ophelia, who was slowly getting to her feet, nodded in response. "Always," she replied, her tone steady and reassuring. There was a hint of pride in her voice, and her expression was one of unwavering support. "We’re in this together, Zorvax."

Zorvax, now fully upright, began to ponder their next move. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, a curious glint in his eye. "Now, let’s see which evolution path to unlock first," he mused aloud, his voice tinged with anticipation.

With the level 3 zombie core they had just obtained from the wind spear zombie, he already had 3 zombie cores. "With this, I’ve got three zombie cores now," he said, examining the core in his hand. His face lit up with excitement as he thought about the possibilities.

He then saw the system - his evolution list. Ophelia peered over his shoulder, curious about the options. Together, they looked at the list, considering their choices.

"Okay, here’s what we’ve got," Zorvax said, pointing at the list. His finger traced the requirements for each evolution.

---

[Evolution List]

-

[1. ???]

[Requirement to unlock:]

[- 5000 Evolution Points]

[- 3 Level 3 Zombie Core]

[- 3 Black Core]

-

[2. ???]

[Requirement to unlock:]

[- 5000 Evolution Points]

[- 3 Level 3 Zombie Core]

[- 3 White Core]

-

[3. ???]

[Requirement to unlock:]

[- Unlock First and Second Evolution List]

[- 10000 Evolution Points]

[- 5 Level 3 Zombie Core]

[- 5 Black Core]

[- 5 White Core]

"[1. ???] - Needs 5000 Evolution Points, three Level 3 Zombie Cores, and three Black Cores," he read out loud, his tone thoughtful.

"Or [2. ???] - Similar requirements, but it needs three White Cores instead of black ones," he continued, his brow furrowed in concentration.

"And the third one... well, we can’t unlock that yet. It needs both the first and second evolutions, plus more cores and points," he concluded, his voice a mix of determination and strategy.

Ophelia leaned in closer, her eyes scanning the list. "So, we have to choose between the first and second evolution. Black cores or white cores, huh?" she said, her voice reflecting the weight of the decision.

Ophelia, her brow furrowed in thought, took a deep breath, her eyes not leaving the list. "It’s hard to say without knowing what these evolutions could lead to. But maybe..." Her voice faded into silence as she considered the options.

Zorvax nodded, his expression serious. "Yeah, it’s a tough choice. Each path could lead to something different, something powerful." He paused, considering their options. "What do you think, Ophelia? Which path should we take?"

After a moment of contemplation, she turned to Zorvax with a curious expression. "What exactly are these coloured cores?" she asked, her tone reflecting genuine curiosity.

Zorvax paused, realizing he didn’t have a clear answer himself. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, his eyes narrowing as he pondered. "I’m not sure," he admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty. Then, a thought struck him. "The shop... it sells different colored cores. Maybe they’re related to elements?"

He looked back at the list, connecting the dots. "Each level 3 zombie we’ve encountered had its own element, right? So, these cores might represent specific elements," he mused, his voice growing more confident as the idea took shape.

Ophelia nodded, following his line of thought. "So, the color of the core could correspond to an element. That makes sense," she said, her face lighting up with understanding.

"But your evolution needs black or white cores," she pointed out, her eyes scanning the list again. "Black could represent darkness, but white... light element in a zombie?" She looked puzzled, her voice filled with wonder and a hint of skepticism.

Zorvax leaned back, crossing his arms as he thought. "Yeah, light element in a zombie seems odd. But maybe it’s something unique, something rare," he speculated, his tone now filled with intrigue. "Could be a game-changer."

Ophelia’s gaze returned to the list, her mind racing with possibilities. "If we choose the black core path, we might delve deeper into dark abilities. But the white core... it’s a mystery, an unknown path."

Zorvax nodded, his expression serious. "It’s a tough call. Darkness or light. Which path do we take?" His voice was steady, but the weight of the decision was evident in his eyes.

They stood there, side by side, lost in thought. The choice before them wasn’t just about evolution; it was about the direction their journey would take. Their faces mirrored each other’s contemplation, a mix of uncertainty and excitement about the unknown possibilities that lay ahead.
