Zombolution: Unleash the Undying Power

Chapter 64: Race To Level 3 Zombie

Chapter 64: Race To Level 3 Zombie

Zorvax, standing a safe distance from the chaotic battlefield, turned to Ophelia with a determined look. "We can’t fall behind," he said firmly, a strategic glint in his eye. "Now’s our chance to take it down."

Ophelia understood immediately, nodding once as she brought her sniper rifle to bear. She was a picture of concentration, her body steady as she lined up her shot with practiced precision. Her finger rested lightly on the trigger, ready to unleash the lethal combination she had in mind.

With a careful breath, she pulled the trigger, sending a wind shot whistling through the air towards the level 3 zombie. The bullet, empowered by her elemental manipulation, struck the joint of the creature’s knee with pinpoint accuracy. Without hesitation, she followed up with a fire shot, the two elements combining into a small but potent explosion that devastated the zombie’s knee.

The massive form of the level 3 zombie stumbled and then crashed to the ground with a thunderous impact, its roars of pain echoing off the desolate surroundings. Ophelia watched through her scope, a slight nod acknowledging the success of her handiwork.

Back in the command center, the officers monitoring the battle gasped in surprise as the level 3 zombie fell. "Sir, the target is down!" one of them exclaimed, turning to Beta with wide eyes.

Beta, who had been focused on orchestrating the next phase of the attack, spun around to face the monitors. His expression changed from one of tense anticipation to shock as he witnessed the fallen giant. "What happened?" he demanded, seeking answers to this unexpected turn.

One of the officers pointed to the screen, where the replay of Ophelia’s precise shots was being analyzed. "It seems there was another shooter, sir. They targeted the knee joint with unknown ammunitions," he explained, the awe in his voice reflecting the skill of the unseen sniper.

Beta’s mind raced as he absorbed this new information. It was clear now that Zorvax and his companion were not ordinary zombies—they were something else entirely. "Why would they target their own kind?" he mused aloud, his brows knitting together in confusion.

But there was no time to ponder the motives of their enigmatic adversaries. Decisive action was needed. "Send a squad of level 2 guards to secure the area around the level 3 zombie. Prepare to extract the core," he ordered, his voice firm and authoritative.

"We can’t let the core fall into their hands," Beta continued, his tone conveying the importance of the mission. He was convinced that Zorvax’s goal was to claim the powerful level 3 zombie core for himself.

The officers responded with a chorus of affirmative replies, quickly relaying Beta’s orders. A team of level 2 bionic guards, their own enhancements humming to life, marched out towards the fallen behemoth.

"Refill the bio tanks," Beta added, his gaze returning to the screens. "We might need another shot to ensure the creature stays down."

The guards advanced cautiously, their weapons at the ready, while the techs worked to reload the bio tanks with more zombie cores. It was a costly strategy, but Beta was prepared to pay the price for victory.

Meanwhile, Zorvax and Ophelia watched from their vantage point as the Bionic Corp scrambled to respond to the level 3 zombie’s downfall.

"Looks like they’re moving in," Zorvax observed, his voice low. His eyes tracked the progress of the guards, his mind already strategizing their next move.

Ophelia, poised with her sniper rifle, was the picture of deadly intent. The importance of the zombie core wasn’t lost on her—it was the key to power in this new world. She was ready to pull the trigger, to defend their claim to the core, when Zorvax’s hand gently pressed down on hers.

"Let me handle this," he said, his voice a soft command that halted her actions.

Ophelia looked up, her eyes meeting his. She saw the resolve there and nodded once, understanding. Her role was to support, and Zorvax’s plan was already in motion.

Zorvax lifted his other hand, summoning his unique ability. With the power of the Zombie Ruler, he reached out to the mindless undead scattered around the battlefield. Like puppets on strings, they responded to his call, a new hunger igniting within them as they turned their attention to the bionic guards.

The guards, caught off guard by the sudden shift in the zombies’ behavior, found themselves surrounded. The undead, driven by Zorvax’s will, attacked with a ferocity that the guards had not anticipated.

Meanwhile, Zorvax drew his colossal flame sword, the weapon an extension of his own undead strength. With a thought, his bionic suit responded, coating the sword with an extra layer of protective and enhancing material. The blade glowed brighter, a beacon in the night, as Zorvax prepared to join the fray.

The bionic guards fought back, their own weapons cutting through the horde of zombies. But for every undead they took down, more seemed to rise, called forth by Zorvax’s command.

Ophelia watched, ready to intervene if necessary, but Zorvax’s strategy was working. The guards were becoming overwhelmed, their formation breaking under the relentless assault of the zombies.

In the command center, Beta received the reports of the sudden surge in zombie activity with a growing sense of dread. "What’s happening out there?" he demanded, his voice booming over the commotion.

An officer responded, breathless from the urgency of the situation. "Sir, the zombies... they’re attacking in force. It’s like they’re... coordinated."

Beta’s grip on the console tightened, his knuckles turning white. "Coordinated? How is that possible?" he asked, though deep down, he feared he already knew the answer.

"It’s him," Beta realized, the picture of the zombie coming to him like a curse. "It has to be."

The battle for the level 3 zombie core had taken an unexpected turn, and as Zorvax and Ophelia enacted their plan, the Bionic Corp found themselves fighting on two fronts. The night, once calm, was now alive with the sounds of combat, a symphony of the living and the undead clashing in a dance of death and survival.
