Chapter 179: Zombie Wolves Evolution
Chapter 179: Zombie Wolves Evolution
The hall of Zovania Citadel buzzed with an eerie energy, the kind that made the air itself feel alive with anticipation. Ophelia and Drakina, now Tier 4 entities, stood proudly, their newfound power almost tangible in the dimly lit room.
Ophelia’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she played with a strand of her hair, her gaze shifting to Zorvax, who sat with an aura of serene authority on his Dark Throne.
"Hey Zorvax," she said in a playful tone, "Now that we’re all big and strong Tier 4s, don’t you think it’s time our soldiers got a taste of the fun? Just picture it – a whole army of evolved zombies! The chaos would be absolutely delightful!"
Zorvax, ever the picture of calm composure, regarded her with an unchanging, contemplative expression. His fingers tapped a slow, deliberate rhythm on the armrest, echoing softly in the vast, shadowy hall.
"You raise an interesting point, Ophelia," he responded in a steady, measured tone. "Enhancing our forces could indeed prove advantageous to our cause."
At his words, Ophelia’s face lit up like a child who had just been promised a new toy. She clapped her hands gleefully, her laughter echoing around the room. Beside her, Drakina stood like a silent sentinel, her stoic face and unyielding posture starkly contrasting to Ophelia’s animated expressions.
Zorvax’s gaze swept across the room. "You, General Ophelia, and you, General Drakina, have shown the true extent of your power by reaching Tier 4. Our sergeants, Blackie and Grymlock, have not been far behind, ascending to Tier 3. It is only fair that our soldiers follow suit."
He shifted his attention back to Ophelia, his sharp eyes locking onto hers. "Please, bring in the troops. It’s time we commenced their evolution."
Ophelia, practically bouncing with excitement, signaled for Sergeant Blackie. The formidable Shadow Wolf Zombie responded with a quick, solemn nod, then turned on his heel and left the hall with purposeful strides.
The hall soon filled with the rhythmic march of heavy boots. Sergeant Blackie returned, leading a hundred Wolf Zombies whose eyes glowed eerily in the dim light. The soldiers’ faces were a mix of trepidation and excitement, their bodies tense with anticipation.
Rising smoothly from his throne, Zorvax’s movements were both graceful and commanding. He looked over the assembled soldiers, his lips curling into a subtle smile that seemed to promise both danger and excitement.
"Welcome, brave soldiers," his deep voice resonated against the ancient stone walls. "Today marks the dawn of your transformation. Today, you transcend your current selves and emerge as harbingers of a new era."
Ophelia, unable to contain her glee, clapped her hands, her laughter ringing out once more. In contrast, Drakina simply watched the soldiers, her eyes sharp and calculating, silently assessing the potential that lay before her.
Zorvax, exuding his characteristic calm aura, stood before the grand Zombolution system. With a flick of his wrist, the system came to life, casting a ghostly glow across the chamber. The screen, a vast canvas of digital intricacies, displayed an intricate web of evolution paths for the Wolf Zombies.
Zorvax glanced sideways at Ophelia, who was practically vibrating with excitement next to him. "Ophelia, your thoughts? Which evolution would best serve our Wolf Zombie ranks?"
Ophelia leaned in closer, her wild hair almost touching the screen. Her eyes, wide and sparkling with enthusiasm, darted from one option to another, taking in the myriad of possibilities. She bit her lip in concentration, then suddenly her face broke into a wide, almost childlike grin.
"Oh! Look here, Zorvax!" she exclaimed, pointing at a particular route at the bottom of the list. "Dark Wolf Zombies! It’s like fate, don’t you think? Blackie’s a Shadow Wolf Zombie; his soldiers transforming into Dark Wolf Zombies... it’s like a shadow coming to life!"
Zorvax observed the screen, his eyes reflecting the dim light. A thoughtful expression crossed his face, and then, slowly, he nodded. His lips curved into a subtle, almost imperceptible smile. "A fitting choice indeed, Ophelia. Dark Wolf Zombies will be a formidable addition to our army." His voice was soft yet carried an unquestionable authority.
As Zorvax’s fingers deftly selected the Dark Wolf Zombies’ evolution route, a mysterious and transformative energy began to fill the hall. The gathered Wolf Zombies, standing in orderly rows, were suddenly engulfed in a whirlwind of black mana. It spiraled around them, like dark clouds rolling in on a stormy night, creating an aura of ominous power.
Ophelia, her eyes sparkling with excitement, couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. She clapped her hands together, the sound echoing off the ancient walls, and leaned forward eagerly. "Look at this!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of awe and thrill. "It’s happening!"
A few steps behind, Drakina observed the scene with a calm intensity. Though she didn’t speak, her eyes, sharp and focused, followed each movement meticulously. The corners of her mouth twitched slightly, hinting at her approval of the unfolding spectacle.
The Wolf Zombies, now encased in cocoons of dark energy, stood motionless. The hall, usually echoing with the sounds of the undead, fell silent, as if holding its breath. The cocoons themselves seemed alive, pulsating with the power coursing through them.
Ophelia, unable to stand still, moved closer, her head tilting this way and that as she tried to catch every detail of the transformation. "They’re changing! Can you feel it?" she whispered, more to herself than to anyone else.
In stark contrast, Zorvax watched from his position of power, his face a mask of serene contemplation. His eyes, however, betrayed a flicker of satisfaction at the successful evolution.
Then, in a dramatic crescendo, the cocoons started to crack. It began with small fissures, which quickly spread across the surface like lightning. The sound of cracking and splitting filled the air, adding to the anticipation.
With a final, powerful burst, the cocoons shattered, revealing the new forms of the Dark Wolf Zombies. They were magnificent and intimidating - larger in size, with fur as black as the deepest shadows. Their claws, now longer and sharper, gleamed menacingly in the dim light. Their fangs, more pronounced and fearsome, promised deadly efficiency.
Zorvax rose from his throne with a composed grace, his eyes methodically scanning the hall filled with the newly transformed Dark Wolf Zombies. As he walked closer, his gaze lingered on each of the fearsome creatures, noting their increased size and the lethal sharpness of their claws. "Impressive," he uttered, his voice calm yet carrying an undertone of satisfaction.
Ophelia, unable to contain her excitement, twirled around the new soldiers. Her movements were fluid, almost as if she was dancing to an unheard tune. She laughed, a sound filled with delight and a touch of madness.
"Look at them, Zorvax! Aren’t they just magnificent? Stronger, fiercer, and oh, so wonderfully dark!" Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she playfully mimicked their growls, enjoying the eerie chorus that reverberated around the hall.
The Dark Wolf Zombies responded to her energy, their low growls resonating through the stone walls. They shifted on their feet, muscles rippling under their dark fur, their eyes glinting with a combination of raw power and unwavering loyalty to their leaders.
Zorvax approached one of the Dark Wolf Zombies, observing it closely. He extended his hand, allowing the creature to sniff him – a gesture of acceptance and command.
"With this newfound strength, our army is more formidable than ever," he said, his voice steady, reflecting his strategic mind.
Turning towards Drakina, Zorvax’s face held a look of contemplation. "We are prepared for any challenge that lies ahead. Our enemies will think twice before crossing us."
Drakina, standing a few paces away, watched the scene with her usual stoic demeanor. Her eyes, however, betrayed a flicker of approval as she surveyed the Dark Wolf Zombies.
She stepped forward, her movements precise and measured. "They will serve us well," she said, her voice low but clear. "We must test their abilities soon."
Ophelia, still buzzing with energy, spun towards Drakina. "Oh, I can’t wait to see them in action! It’s going to be a spectacular show!"
Zorvax nodded, a subtle smile gracing his lips. "Indeed, Ophelia. Our enemies won’t know what hit them. Let us prepare for the battles ahead. Our ascendancy in this land is just beginning."
