Chapter 1728 - 1725: Trash

Watching Ning Wenbin’s lonely figure depart, Xiao Manxuan regretfully said, "Is there really no possibility for them?"

"Did you see the way Wu Xiuluo behaved just now? They are from entirely different worlds. To put it seriously, there’s a difference between fairy and mortal, and the key is that Wu Xiuluo has no feelings for him at all," Lin Tian said helplessly.

Xiao Manxuan argued defiantly, "So what if there’s a difference between fairy and mortal? Isn’t the legend of Niu Lang and Weaver about their mutual love and union? They’re also a fairy and mortal separated by distance."

"Niu Lang and Weaver?" Lin Tian chuckled and said, "I’ve heard a different version. The legend goes that the Seven Immortals descended to bathe in a lake, and the old cow told its master, Niu Lang, about it."

"Niu Lang was just an ordinary young man, neither well-educated nor skilled at anything, and he wasn’t as hardworking as the common people, spending his days herding cattle, which a mere herdsboy could manage. It shows his ignorance and laziness."

"Someone like Niu Lang, upon hearing from the old cow that there were fairies bathing in the lake, didn’t hesitate to peep at them and even stole one fairy’s robe."

"Without the robe, the fairy couldn’t fly back to the Heavenly Palace. He threatened her, saying he would return the robe only if she married him. In such a helpless situation, the fairy agreed to marry him."

"The Queen Mother of heaven found out, and that was unacceptable. In a rage, she separated them with a celestial river, dividing them from each other forever."

"Just think, if a man today peeped at women in a bathhouse, stole one woman’s clothes, and said, ’Marry me or I’ll keep your clothes,’ what do you think would happen?"

"You can bet that man would get beaten to death or arrested by the police immediately. That’s the reality." Lin Tian joked.

Xiao Manxuan was taken aback, only responding after a while, "Lin Tian, where did you hear this story? It’s completely overturning the worldview."

"I saw it online; though slightly skewed, it seems more realistic. Reality is often cruel, so people tend not to overthink about it." Lin Tian said indifferently.

He didn’t know who first told this story, but it certainly was an eye-opener.

"Alright, the matter with Ning Wenbin and Wu Xiuluo could probably only be solved by Yue Lao." Xiao Manxuan said regretfully, and Lin Tian simply shrugged without speaking.

The two left the restaurant and walked towards their apartment dormitory. It was already around ten at night; few pedestrians were on the road. The dormitory was close to the teachers’ apartments, making the surroundings even quieter.

The streetlights, which were bright, cast a somewhat dim light on the ground after passing through roadside trees. As they walked into the shadow of a large tree, a middle-aged man approached them.

The man wore black, moved silently like a ghost in the darkness. His features, discernible in sparse light, were sparse eyebrows and narrow eyes, giving a sleazy aura, though a glint seemed to flash in his eyes.

Lin Tian glanced at the man, who also looked over. Their gazes collided in the dark.

"So it’s Lin Tian." The man suddenly stopped and said to Lin Tian.

Lin Tian took Xiao Manxuan’s hand and said, "Do we know each other?"

The man smiled, though the smile was somewhat sleazy, "You don’t know me, but I know you. I’m Ju Yuuzen’s teacher, Heichuan Jianyi."

"A Japanese? I think you’ve got the wrong person. I’m not interested in Japanese." Lin Tian retorted coldly, leaving behind a comment and quickly pulling Xiao Manxuan away.

Heichuan Jianyi watched the two leave, a glint flashing in his eyes. He didn’t attempt to stop them, only giving a silent, cold laugh before turning to leave.

He walked through the dormitory and arrived at the teachers’ apartment, went to the top floor, and knocked on one of the doors. A young man with a traditional aura opened the door, frowned upon seeing Heichuan Jianyi, and said, "Why are you here?"

"Mr. Feibai, with your esteemed presence, how could I not come to say hello, otherwise it would be impolite." Heichuan Jianyi said with a grin, though his grin seemed far from polite, more sleazy.

"If it weren’t for your incompetence, unable to find the true body of Jiang Chen after all this time, I wouldn’t have to come here." The one opening the door was Xu Feibai, his gaze towards Heichuan Jianyi was very contemptuous, his tone very unfriendly.

Then he turned into the living room, and Heichuan Jianyi followed inside, but was evidently choked by this conversation. He cautiously said, "Mr. Feibai, your family has been searching for the true body of Jiang Chen for so many years without success; you should know it’s not easy, otherwise you wouldn’t have hired us."

"First, watch what you call me when speaking. Don’t call me Mr. Feibai. Second, just because the family hired you doesn’t mean I also want to hire you. Moreover, you haven’t demonstrated the corresponding value."

"Regarding your recent activities, I am very displeased. What are you trying to achieve by instructing your students to attack the Martial Arts Club? Huaxia Martial Arts is not something you can meddle with!" Xu Feibai said coldly, wearing an authoritative look.

Heichuan Jianyi chuckled lightly and said, "Huaxia Martial Arts is nothing to me, just a set of routines. Even those celebrated fighting champions; I could take on ten of them alone..."

Suddenly, Xu Feibai slapped Heichuan Jianyi’s face; the speed was so fast Heichuan Jianyi couldn’t react, leaving a five-finger mark on his face.

"Mr. Xu, you..." Heichuan Jianyi held his face, looking incredulously at Xu Feibai, having been slapped for no apparent reason.

"To me, you’re just a dog, what right do you have to comment on Huaxia Martial Arts?" Xu Feibai spoke directly, filled with coldness.

Heichuan Jianyi’s face looked very unsightly; his fists clenched then relaxed repeatedly, seemingly on the verge of an outburst. Xu Feibai just coldly watched him, waiting for him to explode, but Heichuan Jianyi still chose to release his fists, not daring to strike.

"Useless, stop the Karate Club’s merger activities at once, and don’t provoke Lin Tian. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee you’ll survive." Xu Feibai scolded again, then coldly reminded him.

Heichuan Jianyi had originally come to make acquaintances, but instead, he was scolded head-on. Now being compared unfavorably to Lin Tian, he felt especially discontent.

"Just a mere student, no need for Mr. Xu to take him so seriously." Heichuan Jianyi responded defiantly.

"Humph, before you came to Huaxia, you should have done your homework and investigated thoroughly. Otherwise, you wouldn’t even know how you died; dying itself isn’t serious, but don’t ruin my big plans." Xu Feibai remained icy, contrasting the congenial manner he showed Lin Tian.
