Chapter 1718 - 1715: You’re the Junior
Chapter 1718 - 1715: You’re the Junior
The little girl gave Lin Tian a glare, then really turned around to go back to class, but only she knew her face was burning hot, afraid that Lin Tian would see it turning red.
The little girl’s temperament had always been so prideful; Lin Tian helplessly shrugged and turned back to the soccer field, and the spectators, seeing there wasn’t any drama to watch, dispersed as well.
Ning Wenbin walked over, not looking happy after the victory, but rather like he had lost all hope: "Brother Lin Tian, I realize I’m not as popular as I used to be. Clearly, I’m standing on the field, so why isn’t anyone cheering for me? Back in the day..."
"Hey, stop, don’t think about ’back in the day’," Lin Tian quickly gestured to halt his memories, feeling quite disdainful: "Back when you were chasing Wu Xiuluo, wasn’t that a big event in school? That’s like centuries ago, and it’s not exactly a good reputation, is it?"
"Who cares if it’s a good reputation or not; as long as it catches Xiuluo’s attention, I don’t care about the rest." Ning Wenbin waved his hand, looking quite indifferent.
Lin Tian shook his head helplessly, unsure whether to call him passionately devoted or deeply infatuated.
At this moment, Xu Feibai also came over, looking at Lin Tian: "You’ve injured the soccer club’s backup player, the principal might want trouble."
Before Lin Tian could retort, Ning Wenbin had already jumped in to defend him: "Teacher Xu, that’s not fair to say! They clearly provoked first and then hurt themselves; how can you blame Lin Tian for that?"
"Yeah, you can’t blame Lin Tian. We all can testify," other classmates came over, speaking up for Lin Tian.
"It’s not up to me; I reckon before class ends, this matter will be passed around," Xu Feibai shrugged, looking at Lin Tian with a bit of schadenfreude.
Lin Tian certainly knew what this guy was thinking: just wanting to see him take a fall, but Lin Tian really wasn’t afraid. If the principal dared to make a fuss, Lin Tian would dare to blow it up bigger—who’s afraid of whom?
The dispute over the field was just a minor episode; the soccer class continued. Although Xu Feibai came with a task, it must be said that the guy taught decently.
At least the other students listened attentively, even quite admiring him. As for Lin Tian, he was purely there to earn credits.
However, one thing Xu Feibai mentioned did come true: halfway through the soccer class, a male teacher walked onto the field. This male teacher wore dress pants and a shirt, along with shiny black leather shoes—clearly not here for exercise.
The male teacher walked to the edge of the soccer field and loudly asked, "Which one is Teacher Xu?" His tone was quite polite.
Everyone stopped their training; Xu Feibai walked over and replied, "That’s me. May I ask what the matter is, teacher?"
"Principal Yu has asked Lin Tian for a chat; please have him come along," the male teacher said truthfully.
Xu Feibai smiled and turned around, signaling Lin Tian: "Lin Tian, come over, let’s go to the principal’s office."
Lin Tian heard this and understood the situation, but he calmly walked over.
Ning Wenbin followed him, frowning, "Teacher Xu, Lin Tian hasn’t done anything wrong. Why are you asking him to go for a chat? I’m going with him to testify—it was the backup players who spoke rudely first."
"Teacher Xu, we’re going too!" other classmates gathered around.
The male teacher was slightly taken aback, not expecting this temporarily formed soccer class to be so united.
Lin Tian looked gratified, patted Ning Wenbin on the shoulder, and said to him and the others: "Good friends, loyal spirit, I appreciate your intentions. Let me handle this on my own."
"Brother Lin Tian, don’t worry; if the school dares to punish you, I’ll go find my dad and have him stand up for you." Ning Wenbin patted his chest and promised.
"Alright, I know the Ning Family is powerful, but really, you don’t need to bother with this." Lin Tian shook his head helplessly.
This guy looks like he has connections; don’t be too arrogant, yet he’s quite cute. Didn’t expect his silly personality to have reliable moments.
Ning Wenbin was taken aback, muttering: "How do you know about the Ning Family..."
Before he could finish, Xu Feibai interrupted: "All of you, go back to class. I’m going with Lin Tian; don’t mess around."
This time, it was Lin Tian’s turn to be stunned. He glanced at Xu Feibai, surprised: "Didn’t think you’d be quite considerate."
Xu Feibai raised an eyebrow and smiled: "Heh, don’t misunderstand me. Since the principal wants to talk to you, he’ll definitely need to understand the situation from me later, so it’s better to handle it in one go than have to go again."
"Alright, whatever the reason is, let’s go quickly, lest the principal gets angry and adds another charge." Lin Tian said indifferently.
Then he turned to Ning Wenbin and said: "Brother Ning, if Xiao Manxuan asks, don’t say too much. I’m really afraid that this little girl might tear the school down in anger."
Ning Wenbin broke out in a cold sweat, thinking: if Mr. Xiao really has the ability, how could I possibly stop her? But he nodded in agreement.
The few of them left the field and headed towards the administrative building, guided by the male teacher in front, who smiled slightly: "Actually, Lin Tian, you don’t need to worry. Principal Yu is a very personable person."
"Oh, I haven’t introduced myself yet. I’m Yang Weicheng, the principal’s secretary." The male teacher introduced himself.
"Let’s hope that’s true." Lin Tian didn’t say much; Yang Weicheng saw that both of them wore cool expressions and had no intention of conversing, so he didn’t say anything further.
The three quickly arrived at the administrative building, took the elevator to the top floor, and knocked on the door of the principal’s office.
Lin Tian wasn’t meeting the principal for the first time; during the opening ceremony, Principal Yu had appeared on stage.
Principal Yu wore a white shirt without a tie, with some gray hair, and was focused on reviewing documents. Upon seeing Lin Tian and the others come in, he stood up immediately.
As he stood, Lin Tian developed more admiration for this principal: one was his welcoming gesture, without airs, and the other was his lack of a beer belly, looking more like a scholar than an administrative leader.
You know, nowadays in any position, a leader without a beer belly is quite rare.
"Teacher Xu, you’ve come too—please, sit down." Principal Yu greeted the two warmly.
Lin Tian glanced at Xu Feibai and whispered: "Didn’t realize you’re quite valued, even the principal is polite towards you."
Xu Feibai whispered back: "I have multiple doctorate degrees. According to your school’s saying, I’m young and accomplished—a talent."
Lin Tian rolled his eyes: "Come on, I know you, don’t I? If I had lived for centuries, I’d have more doctorate degrees than you."
Xu Feibai wasn’t angry; he instead laughed: "You’re finally admitting you’re a junior. In our clan, you’re still a young one—learn to respect your elder, alright?"
Lin Tian rolled his eyes, but before he could say anything more, Principal Yu had already come over and sat in front of the two.
"Lin Tian, rest assured, calling you over this time isn’t to investigate responsibility," Principal Yu said straightforwardly after sitting down.
