Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1712 - 1709: Trading Barbs

Chapter 1712 - 1709: Trading Barbs

"Hey, what’s going on between Lin Tian and Teacher Xu? It seems like they know each other?" The classmates couldn’t hear their conversation clearly, but noticed the pair glaring at each other again, which seemed odd.

Ning Wenbin ran up, pulled Lin Tian and started heading back to the group: "Brother Lin Tian, he’s the teacher, having a conflict with him doesn’t benefit you. Come on, let’s get back to class."

"Hey, didn’t you just say you wanted to teach the person who stole your spotlight a lesson? That’s him." Lin Tian looked at him speechlessly.

Both of them were quite tall, so they stood in the last row where Ning Wenbin whispered: "Brother Lin Tian, don’t you feel it?"

"Feel what?" Lin Tian asked, puzzled.

"Even though I’m a big man, and don’t want to admit it, this guy’s stern face is kind of intimidating. I don’t even feel this way facing my cousin sister," Ning Wenbin cautiously said, still a bit puzzled.

Lin Tian’s heart skipped. Could it be the invisible suppression of the zombie aura? After all, zombies feed on human blood, aren’t they natural predators? He couldn’t help but ask, "What about if I put on a stern face, would you be scared?"

"Stop joking, Brother Lin Tian, let’s just get back to class." Ning Wenbin shook his head with a smile.

Lin Tian paused slightly, realizing that even with the same zombie class and similar strength, the feelings were different. Was it due to Zhang Lingyu’s spell?

He raised his hand and looked at his palm; Zhang Lingyu had once drawn a talisman there, saying it could conceal his aura. Students were more afraid of Xu Feibai, probably for this reason.

Of course, Xu Feibai was a zombie several hundred years old, having long been at the top of the food chain, naturally forming an intimidating atmosphere over time, like someone in a high position developing authority from being in power for long.

"First time in class, I’ll take attendance to remember faces. When your name is called, respond. If you miss roll call, it’ll count as an absence and I’ll reflect this in your semester grades," Xu Feibai said coldly.

Having lived for hundreds of years, Xu Feibai could master any profession he wanted, being a teacher posed no challenge.

However, his words caused a wail among some classmates: "So strict, no chance to skip class anymore."

But a classmate quickly rebutted: "Even skipping P.E.? What’s the point in that?"

"Wu Mingming..." Xu Feibai began reading names.

"Here..." a short boy called out.

There were more than thirty students in the football class, and Xu Feibai read the names quickly.

"Ning Wenbin..." Xu Feibai glanced up and read aloud.

"Here!" Ning Wenbin responded enthusiastically.

After calling his name, Xu Feibai paused inexplicably, looked up at Lin Tian, and surprisingly showed a hint of a smile: "Lin Tian..."

Naturally, Lin Tian found his grin punchable, so he slowly replied, "Here..."

Xu Feibai had no visible reaction, simply closed the folder, and then said, "We’ll need a lot of footballs for class. Lin Tian, please go fetch them from the equipment room."

"Not going." Lin Tian immediately refused, showing no respect to Teacher Xu, who was always flaunting mystery, making Lin Tian want to punch him.

His sheer refusal impressed his classmates, but they all looked at Xu Feibai, curious about how the strict teacher would handle Lin Tian.

With a "snap," Xu Feibai tossed the folder to the ground, the sound causing everyone’s hearts to jolt, the atmosphere seemed to grow tense, everyone held their breath, hearts pounding with anxiety.

"Lin Tian, if you don’t cooperate with the teaching work, I’ll show it in your semester grades too," Xu Feibai said with a mock smile, seemingly ready to spar with Lin Tian.

Of course, Lin Tian wasn’t afraid of sparring, carelessly replied, "Fine, I don’t mind failing the course, I’ll retake another P.E. class as long as I have enough sport credits. But I’ll also give you a bad review in the teacher evaluation at the end of the semester, your teaching methods aren’t good enough."

Nowadays, teacher-student evaluations are mutual in many universities; teachers can grade students, and students can rate teachers. At prestigious schools like Jinghua University, such timely evaluation systems are certainly in place.

"Teacher Xu, Lin Tian didn’t nap well, talking nonsense. We’ll go fetch the footballs now." Ning Wenbin waved his hand, then pulled Lin Tian away.

Meanwhile, he whispered in Lin Tian’s ear, "Brother Lin Tian, since you don’t like him, might as well not face him. Go check out some beauties, it’s good for the eyes."

"Where’s the equipment room?" Lin Tian frowned.

"Over by the volleyball court," Ning Wenbin pointed to the other side of the wire fence.

"Then let’s go." Lin Tian’s attitude shifted noticeably, very decisively.

The two left the group, and when they walked far enough, Ning Wenbin chuckled: "Seems beauty is more enticing, otherwise I’d fear you fighting with Xu Feibai."

"Why fear him? If it’s a fight, then let’s fight," Lin Tian replied irritably.

"I’m just worried you’ll get expelled. If both you and Xu Feibai get expelled, you lose out since you’re still a student," Ning Wenbin said loyally.

Lin Tian patted his shoulder, laughed: "Thanks." Though he wasn’t afraid of expulsion, Ning Wenbin was a true friend for saying that, anyone else would just enjoy the spectacle.

"By the way, what’s your cousin sister’s name?" Lin Tian asked casually, since Ning Wenbin had mentioned his cousin sister earlier.

Ning Wenbin glanced at Lin Tian with amusement, "What, does Brother Lin Tian want to hit on my cousin sister? I’ll tell you, it’s hopeless, no man can get close to her, even though you’re tough, facing her you’ll end up in the hospital immediately. Plus, I was abroad for a while and haven’t seen her for long."

Lin Tian raised his brows but didn’t argue. Ning Wenbin thought Lin Tian was afraid, and didn’t mention his cousin sister’s name again.

The two passed through the wire fence gate, reached the basketball court, and continued along the fence until they arrived at the volleyball court.

"Wow, it’s Lin Tian..." The girls’ shouts suddenly reached Lin Tian’s ears.

Then, the girls training in the volleyball court turned around, all eyes were on Lin Tian.

"Lin Tian looks so handsome in sportswear!"

"He’s even more handsome than the teacher earlier."

The girls chatted openly, Ning Wenbin looked frustrated and unhappy: "I must not have checked the almanac before going out today, my limelight’s always stolen by you and Xu Feibai. At this rate, when will Xiuluo pay attention to me."

Lin Tian chuckled and shook his head. This guy was deeply obsessed, unable to escape, but Lin Tian didn’t pay much attention, instead, his eyes searched the volleyball court and saw Xiao Manxuan.

The little girl holding a volleyball ran out to Lin Tian, showing a different charm after exercise, a few fragrant sweat beads hung on her cheeks, her fair skin flushed, vibrant and full of life, certainly more charming.
