Chapter 835 - 838 I’m Not Worthy 6
It was quite coincidental, but the Yan Family and Kevin’s freedom army base were conducting a military trade, and just as he had taken over the family business, many deals were still not on track. Therefore, he liked to personally attend to these matters, to gain experience and build connections. Unexpectedly, he encountered the freedom army receiving orders to evacuate immediately.
Hearing that they were in trouble and that the entire base needed to move quickly, he decided to forgo unloading the military supplies he had transported. This deal might even fall through, and he did not want to face being laughed at by his family upon his return.
Chenxing, having been put on an evacuating plane by others, clung to the aircraft, refusing to leave. Emperor Yan enjoyed making friends, especially with someone who dominated Canada—a beneficial alliance. He took the initiative to bring Chenxing along to provide support, which led to this scene.
Building his own network of connections was something he urgently wanted to accomplish—a prerequisite for standing on his own in the future.
Gu Shaocheng smiled and patted his shoulder twice, "I owe you my life; this token of gratitude is too grand."
Gu Shaocheng wasn’t one to be trifled with. Having escaped the initial danger, he found a safe place. The first thing he did was surgically remove the tracking device from Luo Xi’s back.
A minor surgery took a full three hours, but they successfully extracted the tracker from her body and implanted it into a large wolfhound’s belly, before letting the hound loose in the mountains.
Gu Shaocheng and Kevin then began to plan how to tie up loose ends, while Emperor Yan had already moved away the military goods.

Three days later.
Chenxing lay in a hidden villa, eating cold medicine while anxiously watching her cousin. Before she could say anything, Luo Xi was called out by Yan Fengchi.
The wound on her back had caused a high fever, which was inevitable, but she wasn’t a weakling and could bear it.
On the backyard lawn, Luo Xi saw Yan Fengchi hesitate to speak and simply sat down on the grass. She felt complex emotions and a strong premonition she didn’t want to confront.
Because she had a sense that the upcoming topic might be quite heavy.
Yet that heaviness was different from what she had anticipated.
"Since when did you start planning?" Yan Fengchi asked a question. Looking at Luo Xi, his eyes held an inquiry, but mostly, a confirmation.
She couldn’t hide after all? In truth, she hadn’t intended to.
Her gaze shifted, dodging meeting his directly.
Yan Fengchi felt a suffocating frustration and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it. From a commanding position, looking down at the woman squatting at his feet and seeing her long avoidance of an answer, he harshly inhaled the smoke, "Don’t lie to me, Luo Xi. None of us are fools, especially the eldest brother!"
"You calculated to include us in your revenge plan—to become pawns in your game. When did you start harboring this idea?"
"Was it a recent idea? Or did you approach me from the very beginning for revenge?"
Yan Fengchi had never spoken so calmly in his life. He questioned her word by word, even pausing in between. His voice wasn’t loud, very low, even soft, like he was reluctant to let those words escape from his mouth.
Luo Xi took a deep breath and rose slightly before his icy gaze.
She asserted decisively, "Never."
And repeated, "Never have I ever."
