Chapter 602 - 605: Shaocheng, I’m with you 6_1
"Chenxing, what are you doing?" Hua Hua asked loudly from behind them.
What the hell is this woman doing? Instead of persuading big brother, she’s just adding to the chaos. What the hell. Right now, big brother needs a warm greenhouse to alleviate the chill that surrounds him.
But he didn’t understand that Chenxing, at this moment, wanted more to get rid of the chill in his heart.
"How about you all leave? Leave me here alone with Shaocheng for a while. It’ll be fine. Give him some privacy."
Chenxing looked at Leng Tong, who handed her an umbrella. She consciously took the black umbrella and held it over Gu Shaocheng’s head.
A simple umbrella, at times, could provide shelter for two people under the same sky.
"It’s okay, you all can leave first." She didn’t know if she could persuade him, but she would try her best to shorten this time of venting as much as possible.
Leng Tong seemed to understand what Miss Chenxing meant. He glanced at the boss, then bowed to him and made a gesture. Everyone retreated together.
They didn’t really leave; they just kept their distance, stepping back a hundred steps, leaving the space to the two of them.
Hua Hua didn’t want to go, but Leng Tong pulled him away.
He said softly to Hua Hua: "Young Master Hua, let’s let Miss Chenxing try. Maybe she can persuade the boss. We’ll keep our distance and let them talk."
"But—"
"There’s no other way right now. I choose to trust her; she won’t disregard the boss’s physical resilience."
Hua Hua was about to say something, but his gaze fell on the two figures kneeling in the snow. He opened and closed his mouth then stomped his foot angrily before finally turning to leave.
How annoying!
If his second, third, and fourth brothers were here, he could brainstorm with them. Now, he only brought a little sister-in-law, who was foolishly kneeling with him. It was a waste to bring her!
------------------------------------------------------
Chenxing had a lot of questions. As far as she understood, it seemed that the arrogant and domineering Mrs. Xia was not Gu Shaocheng’s biological mother. The woman on this tombstone was Shaocheng’s real mother. Shaocheng had dug up his mother’s grave for a paternity test, which was a huge disrespect to the deceased. He had been punishing himself here for over two days without eating or drinking.
She’s yet to come to grips with the rest of it.
But she wasn’t a woman to ask a lot of questions. Even though she had many comforting words she wanted to say and lots of questions in her heart, seeing him in such a pitiable state, she swallowed those words back.
Shaocheng had always forbidden anyone to mention the matter between him and Mrs. Xia in his presence. Chenxing had also learned about some of it from Shaocheng’s mouth due to her own background, but she didn’t take it to heart. Because after meeting Mrs. Xia, she instinctively felt that woman didn’t deserve to be Shaocheng’s mother.
Knowing that she had a lot to say but swallowing it all back, Gu Shaocheng actually broke the silence.
"Mom, this is my girl." His voice was hoarse and rough, like being scoured by sandpaper. His tightly clasped fingers tightened more, "Chenxing, call her mom!"
