She was sincerely apologizing, yet all she received was Gu Shaocheng’s chilling voice.
"Don’t make me tell you for the third time, let go."
Wang Yuanyuan was disheartened, "Mr. Gu, have you truly become so ruthless and unwilling to give me a chance to correct my wrongs and start anew?"
Gu Shaocheng forcefully shook off her arm, took a step back to maintain a distance from her, and turned his head to the side, "What did I tell you before you left the Gu family?"
Biting her lip and with a heavy heart, Yuanyuan answered, "You forbade me from ever stepping foot into the Gu family again."
She continued. "I never entered Gu family property. You did not even let me step foot in City E, which was my home for several years. And it has now become forbidden territory for me. If any of our old feelings meant anything to you, you wouldn’t be so heartless."
"I’m giving you a new order." Gu Shaocheng spoke with cold determination.
Wang Yuanyuan looked up, her eyes filled with hope, "What is it? Yuanyuan will obey you."
"Disappear from my life, forever!"
The glimmer of hope in her eyes vanished instantly. She looked at Gu Shaocheng in disbelief but he had already turned and walked away. After a second, she chased after him and tightly hugged his waist from behind. Pressing her face against his back, she said in barely a whisper, "I can’t obey this order. The only way for me to disappear from your life is if you kill me!"
Gu Shaocheng turned and grabbed her neck, pulling her away from him and pressing her against the wall. His eyes narrowed dangerously and he spoke slowly enough to make one shudder, "Yuanyuan, don’t make me regret sparing your life. For the things you’ve done, I could have killed you a thousand times over."
Staring him down fearlessly, Wang Yuanyuan retorted, "Then kill me! This is a fate worse than death anyway... I love you."
The usually strong woman began to tear up as she said the last three words, "You are more cruel than a torturer. Dying by your hands would be a mercy compared to this."
As she said this, she could feel his grip tightening, making it difficult to breathe. But just as she neared the brink of death, he let go. Gasping for breath, she managed a bitter laugh, "Can I take that as you being reluctant to kill me? You’re right, Yuanyuan deserves to die a thousand times. But each time, you always showed mercy. She drew in a sharp breath, quickly retreated and hid behind the corner, looking closely to identify the figures. Her mind racing, she turned and ran away.
"Thump!" Gu Shaocheng forcefully pushed Wang Yuanyuan away and landed a hard slap on her face, disgust in his eyes. "You’re no longer under me. You have no relation to me and I won’t kill you myself. If you continue overstepping boundaries..."
Before he could finish, Wang Yuanyuan interrupted him, yelling, "Even if you don’t kill me, I won’t be grateful! Gu Shaocheng, if I could, I would make you taste all the pain I’ve felt. You may be ruthless now, but one day, I’ll make you pay!"
