Chapter 217 - 219 Tragedy, God’s Intention!_1

Li Xiao cursed under his breath as he pushed open the driver’s door, relentless rain pelting his face so hard it hurt. But what worsened his mood was that the military truck was stuck in a puddle on some low-lying ground. He went over to take a look, reaching his hand out to feel the extent of the trouble, but all he could feel was sludge. He couldn’t even see the truck bed’s bottom.

Enraged, he stood there, struggling, cluelessly pulling at his own hair.

Chenxing crawled out from behind, calling out loudly, "Li Xiao, what’s wrong?"

Wiping the rain off his face, Li Xiao stood up, looking at the muddy ground, and replied loudly, "The truck is stuck! The ground here is low and unstable, with mud everywhere. I doubt we can get it out. Damn!"

How unlucky could he get?

Seeing Li Xiao soaked through, Chenxing forced a smile, "Don’t worry. Why don’t you try first and if it doesn’t work, we’ll all get out and push the truck together. We should be able to push it out."

Li Xiao hesitated a bit, then reluctantly nodded at Chenxing, "That’s the only thing we can do now!"

Saying this, he got back into the truck and tried to start it. He tried multiple times but to no avail.

With no other option, everyone had to get out and help. The injured Americans also alighted from the truck. Everyone braved the rain and pushed the truck from behind, Chenxing, with her petite body, included.

It didn’t work. They continued.

Still failed. They continued again.

Chenxing’s legs sank deep into the mud as her face was completely soaked. She gathered all her strength, encouraging, "Everyone push hard, push hard, push hard..."

But everyone was exhausted and could only get back in the truck to shelter from the rain. Chenxing took off her boots. Even with the raincoat on, she was still half-soaked. She was busy removing the thick mud from her boots.

At that moment, they heard the sound of a car horn from behind.

Great, it sounded like a savior’s horn.

Everybody quickly lifted the tarp, waving at the vehicle behind.

Coming behind them were two supply trucks from other country’s peacekeeping troops. On normal days, they addressed each other as "brothers." Seeing the road blocked up ahead, the people alighted and everybody started brainstorming a plan.

At that moment, someone came over in the rain, patted Chenxing’s shoulder and asked her, "Are you a nurse?"

Chenxing nodded.

The man gripped her wrist instantly, "That’s great. Come with us. We are short of doctors."

"Huh? But I’m not a doctor, I’m a nurse."
