Chapter 183 - 184 Destroyed by a Man Part 1
He Xiaoyan and another girl named Wang Qi approached Chenxing. Xiaoyan slowly squatted before Chenxing, holding an umbrella over her head, "Chenxing?"
Chenxing seemed not to hear.
He Xiaoyan’s hand touched hers and found her body cold as ice; she exclaimed in shock, "What should we do? She’s so cold!"
Wang Qi had the best relationship with Chenxing at school. Seeing Chenxing staring blankly at the tombstone, not knowing what had happened nor how to comfort her, she simply squatted down and hugged her, "Chenxing, what happened? It’s snowing so hard. You’ll freeze if you kneel here."
In the dark night, Chenxing lifted her head in a daze and turned to Wang Qi, "I failed my parents. I let them down. Qiqi, I’m not a good daughter, I’m not..."
Wang Qi helped her cold body up, "Chenxing, stand up first then speak. It’s too cold here, you could get frostbite. Are these your parents? Have they passed away? Your kneeling here like this, if they saw it, they would be worried even in heaven. Can you bear to make them worry for you?"
While helping her up, Wang Qi said to He Xiaoyan, "Xiaoyan, please help me, I can’t pull her up by myself."
"Leave me be, I want to stay here. I want to stay here because only here do I feel warm." This place is her home!
People often say that wherever there are parents, that’s home. She also desired her parents to talk and laugh with her. She yearned for a time when she was worry-free in her parents’ arms, only for everything to be ruined by one man.
Tears she had been desperately holding back started to fall again. She turned away to wipe them, unwilling to show anyone her misery. She gritted her teeth and swallowed her pain.
"How can you feel warm in this snow and ice? Chenxing, listen to us. No matter what has happened, let’s leave here first. If you don’t want to go elsewhere temporarily, come to the student dormitory with us, OK?"
"But I want a home. Everyone has a home, but mine was destroyed. Dad, Mom, I want to go home..." she murmured, longing for home, longing for her parents, longing for the house she used to live in.
In front of their old house there was a big courtyard with a tangerine tree that bore fruit every year. The house was torn down two years ago due to reconstruction. The new house was given to her grandparents. She didn’t even have a place filled with memories.
Gu Shaocheng was waiting in the distance. After ten minutes, his brows furrowed. He couldn’t help but want to carry her away himself, but he feared that seeing him would break her down.
No matter how tough and decisive he usually was, he still knew to be considerate. If he forced her to leave now, it would only deal a heavy blow to her fragile heart.
Time passed, another half hour went by.
Finally, he saw movements by the graves.
Chenxing was being helped by her two classmates. He quickly hid himself and watched her leave the graveyard one step at a time. They got into the same car and he followed. He watched her drive to school, to the gates of the dormitory. In the dim light of the night, he saw her enter the dorm building with her classmates, to which he heaved a hidden sigh of relief.
"Sir, shall we go?" The driver who had been waiting quietly for half an hour couldn’t help but ask.
