Chapter 1523 - 1526: I’m Not Just Some Stranger You Can Forget

Ling Yin was absolutely right; his private space was not somewhere he liked to let outsiders come and go. If he were to recover at home, he’d have doctors and nurses bustling in and out every day, given that he needed daily intravenous injections.

Even on normal days, he usually prepared his own breakfast, had lunch at the company, and often had engagements in the evening, rarely dining at home—perhaps only once a week. Therefore, he only had a housekeeper to clean once every two days, and cooking wasn’t necessary.

Hua Hua sat up cross-legged and glared at him. "Just say you don’t want to be discharged if you don’t want to, stop making so many excuses!"

Reaching for the remote on the bedside table, she pressed the power button and changed position, hugging a soft, comfy pillow while lying on the bed, flipping through channels until she found a show of interest.

"What do you want for dinner?" Ling Yin put down the book he was reading and asked after nearly half an hour of watching TV.

Hua Hua grumbled, "In such a romantic setting, aren’t you planning to have a candlelight dinner with me tonight? That’s how it usually plays out in the dramas, why bother to ask again? You humans are so pretentious."

Ling Yin: "..."

I hadn’t thought about that; did I flatter the wrong person again?

"Are you upset?" Ling Yin thought to himself: I just want to spend a few more days with you, sleeping in the same room.

Hua Hua shook her head indifferently.

"Are you really not mad?"

Hua Hua turned her head fiercely, "Can’t you tell?"

"..."

"Of course, I’m not mad!" Hua Hua huffed.

"Alright, alright, I’ll process the discharge papers tomorrow," Ling Yin surrendered with both hands up. "But my injury isn’t fully healed yet. Take care of me for one more week at home. Can we do that?"

"No problem." Hua Hua’s face suddenly brightened up, followed by a brotherly smile, "I feel like seafood paella tonight and get an extra serving for Crimson Shadow too; they love it!"

The next morning, when Yan Feng arrived at the hospital to visit, he was surprised to find the ward empty. Perplexed, he asked the nurse, "Where is everyone?"

"Boss Ling went home to recuperate."

"His recovery was so quick?" Yan Feng wondered.

The young nurse reported truthfully, "It seems Hua Hua couldn’t stand the hospital smell, so Boss Ling decided to recuperate at home, taking his attending physician and two nurses with him!"

Yan Feng’s expression froze as he felt a headache: Damn, femme fatale!

...................

Hua Hua, munching a carrot, laid back larger than life on the sofa with crossed legs, shouted to Ling Yin in the kitchen, "Brother Ling, is lunch ready? I’m starving and my stomach is growling!"

"Ten more minutes."

Ling Yin stood in the kitchen, roasting chicken wings in the oven, brewing soup, and making two steaks, served just as the ten minutes were up.

He arranged the cutlery and glanced over at Hua Hua, who was sprawled on the sofa like a big kid, "Hua Hua, go wash your hands, time to eat."

The dining room was filled with a delicious aroma, already stirring Hua Hua’s appetite.

She jumped up quickly, shut off the video on her iPad, laughingly washed her hands, then sat across from him, "Smells fantastic; I can’t get enough of the steaks you make, ever since the last time—Brother Ling, you’re amazing!"
