Chapter 1094 - 1097: Hua Hua’s Furious Rage 7
With a loud crash, Hua Hua was livid with rage, sweeping his hand across the bedroom desk, sending its contents tumbling to the floor.
He stood there like a helpless wild beast, completely losing his sanity and at his wit’s end.
Gu Shaocheng dragged his tired body home, grabbed something simple to eat, and returned to the bedroom to catch up on sleep.
Chenxing knelt by his side, massaging his legs. She sneaked a peek at his face and noticed that his complexion wasn’t looking good—pale and bloodless from a sleepless night.
"Chenxing, did Hua Hua hurt you?"
"Huh? What? No, not at all."
"Then why did he tell me he hurt you? What’s going on?"
Chenxing was taken aback. This Hua Hua, wasn’t he the one who didn’t want her to say anything? Why had he spilled it himself? Chenxing chuckled carelessly: "Not at all. That day, it was just because he heard about your illness and couldn’t handle it for a moment. He drank a bit too much, got drunk, and almost hurt me by accident. But he didn’t hurt me. Fei stopped him in time. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Fei—he didn’t lay a finger on me."
Gu Shaocheng nodded and continued to rest his eyes.
Seeing that he didn’t press further, Chenxing didn’t take it seriously. After some thought, though, a question nagged her, and she couldn’t help but ask: "By the way, when he was drunk, he scared me to death. He kept shouting for you to save him and started wielding a knife, stabbing randomly without consciousness. He said he had been kidnapped before and has some lingering trauma. Shaocheng, has Hua Hua been kidnapped in the past?"
Gu Shaocheng remained silent. Chenxing saw that he seemed too tired to want to talk further, so she refrained from pushing the matter, waiting until he was deeply asleep. Then, she quietly tiptoed out of the room and closed the bedroom door.
She decided to visit Huanhuan’s place to pass the time.
Before she even made it to Huanhuan’s house, she was intercepted by a furious Hua Hua.
When Hua Hua saw Chenxing, he showed no trace of friendliness. He stopped her, marched up to her, and snapped, "Little sister-in-law, I never imagined you’d be this kind of person!"
Chenxing raised a brow at Hua Hua’s words, confused: "What kind of person am I? Hua Hua, what’s gotten into you?"
Why was he using the expression of someone she owed millions to when looking at her?
"Don’t act dumb! Did you whisper something in my big brother’s ear, making him rush to send me away—to the desert, of all places?"
Chenxing’s eyes flickered, showing a trace of guilt.
She forced out an awkward smile: "That wasn’t my doing, really. It’s Shaocheng himself—"
Hua Hua let out a cold snort: "Still pretending! One flicker of your eyes and I know you’re guilty! Wow, after all the nice things I’ve done for you, you repay me by setting me up like this?"
Chenxing panicked instantly and hurried to explain: "It’s not true, Hua Hua! I just told Shaocheng that you seemed lonely and suggested he let you stay with us at the Gu Family’s home. Then... um..."
"Then what?" He glared at her intensely, putting immense pressure on her.
Chenxing stammered for a while: "Then Shaocheng didn’t agree. He said you’re too dependent on others, like a child, and lack discipline... and then... and then that happened..."
How was she supposed to know her good intentions would backfire so spectacularly? Afraid Hua Hua wouldn’t believe her, Chenxing practically wanted to rip out her heart to show him—it definitely wasn’t black inside: "Honestly, Hua Hua, I had no idea Shaocheng wouldn’t agree and would even think you need training. If I had known, I wouldn’t have said anything... I’m so sorry, really..."
