Chapter 1091 - 1094: Hua Hua’s Furious Rage 4
Gu Shaocheng turned around, sat down next to him, and picked up another game controller.
It had been a while since he last played games. At first, he was no match for Hua Hua, but after half an hour, it was clear Hua Hua had started to lose ground. Neither of them said a word, fully absorbed in the game, during which Gu Shaocheng took a phone call.
Neither noticed when dawn broke. It wasn’t until the first rays of sunlight touched their faces that Hua Hua realized they’d played through the entire night.
The bad mood had dissolved within the game.
He grinned cheekily, "Bro, are you hungry?"
Gu Shaocheng put down the game controller, stretched lazily, showing his fatigue, and walked straight to the bed. He took off his jacket and lay down.
He gestured with his hand, "Come lie down. Let’s have a talk, just us brothers."
Hua Hua’s playful expression suddenly turned stone cold, his refusal unmistakable, "If you’re tired, go sleep, Bro. I’ll fix you something to eat, and once it’s ready, I’ll wake you up."
"Hua Hua." He called her back.
Hua Hua suddenly lashed out, "Bro! I don’t want to talk, can’t you see that? Do you really need me to spell it out to make you understand?"
Such a stubborn temper! Just like a piece of rotten stone!
He waved his hand dismissively and shook his head, saying, "I’m not hungry. I’m not here to talk about *that* thing. Just come over so we can chat about everyday stuff. It’s been ages since we’ve had a heart-to-heart as brothers."
Hua Hua’s eyes flashed with hesitation, but in the end, he compromised and lay down on the bed.
In truth, he was exhausted. His nerves had been stretched taut all night, constantly worried that his brother would bring up that obnoxious topic about further studies. As he lay down, he instinctively turned his back to Gu Shaocheng.
Gu Shaocheng tugged at his clothes and said, "Turn around."
Hua Hua, lacking resolve, turned back around, shutting his eyes. "Bro, what do you want to talk about now? I’m really tired. It’s been a whole night, my eyes are dry."
Even Gu Shaocheng himself didn’t know what he wanted to talk about. He felt like a walking contradiction. Over the years, he had wanted to spoil him endlessly, but at the same time, he wanted Hua Hua to become a real man who could stand on his own. On one hand, he desperately wished to control him, hoping that Hua Hua would obey his every command unfailingly—this way, Hua Hua wouldn’t go astray, and every decision he made for him would always be for his own good. On the other hand, he wanted Hua Hua to have his own opinions, to grow up, and to become capable and responsible.
"Go to sleep."
"..." Hua Hua suddenly didn’t know how to respond.
He opened his eyes and found his brother’s gaze fixed on his face. Hua Hua arched a brow, and Gu Shaocheng laughed, "Didn’t you say you’re tired? Go ahead and sleep. I’ll rest a bit too."
Hua Hua: "..."
Gu Shaocheng chuckled again, adjusted his sleeping position, and stared up at the ceiling. He said, "Honestly, I really hope you can grow up a bit more. Not that you’re bad as you are now. If men were compared to steel, you’re iron at best right now—not fully forged into steel. But I hope that one day I’ll get to see the steel side of you. That would make me proud. I’d feel genuinely accomplished. When introducing you to others, I’d be able to say, ’My brother is successful, capable, and resilient,’ instead of just saying, ’My brother looks good.’"
"Hua Hua, I don’t know if I can protect you for the rest of your life. I did say that as long as I’m around, you’ll always have me to rely on. But even I can’t guarantee my own future, so how can I promise that you can live life as a pampered idler forever? So, can you grow a little more? Don’t be so resistant to the idea, okay?"
