Finding Julia

"Do it now," Jason commanded and Mr Dickson grabbed his phone and dialled the number of the guy he asked to spy on Julia.

"Put it on loudspeaker," Jason commanded coldly.

Mr Dickson, quickly obliged, putting the call on speaker.

"Hello sir," came the voice of the spy.

"Have you found Ms Harrison?" Mr Dickson asked trying to sound normal.

"Kind of," the spy replied. "My contact tells me the car with the specifications I gave you was seen around the airport," he added.

Jason left the office immediately without a word. Mr Dickson was more relaxed when Jason left his office

"Follow them," Mr Dickson said, ended the call and stood there wondering if he should still keep Jason as his deputy as he tried to recover from Jason's dangerous move on him just now.

He thought about all the achievements the company had made since Jason joined and wondered if it would be a good idea to terminate him because of what just happened. Thinking about it, he knew he would have reacted in the same way as Jason did if someone had done what he did to someone he cared about. Recalling Jason saying Ms Harrison is his wife; it was obvious he didn't know she was a Haward too.

"Oh, gracious, Jason is married to his sister," Mr Dickson thought but then he remembered the news. "Jason was adopted. So does it mean he married Julia to become heir?" he thought.

"If that is so, then the news could be right about Jason being a scammer but he has also proven to be different working with him these past few months. If anything, he is hard-working and very committed to his duties," he thought.

He sat behind the desk and dropped his head into his palm in frustration not sure what to do right this moment.

Jason hailed a cab to the airport as soon as he was out of the building. On his way to the airport, he tried Julia's phone but it was switched off. Just when he was about to dial her number again, Peter's call came through. He answered the call thinking something bad may have happened to him too.

"Hello Mr Haward, Mrs Haward has been taken," Peter announced as soon as the call connected.

"How did that happen?" Jason questioned.

"I... I... I....." Peter stammered and Jason immediately suspected by his hesitation, he left Julia alone in the house.

"You don't know because you were not there?" Jason questioned.

"Yes please," Peter answered and gulped.

Jason ended the call not saying anything further to him. Peter on the other end of the call, having worked with Jason for that long, knew he was very angry.

The car soon arrived at the airport and Jason stormed out of the car not taking his change from the driver after paying him. The driver called after him but he ignored, hurrying his steps into the airport.

Jason only had one suspect in mind, his brother James, and if that was true, he knew he would only be taking her to one place, Florida. He first checked the flight time for Florida and the plane was taking off in less than 30 minutes. He knew they were done checking in by now. He quickly moved to the ticket area to purchase a ticket to Florida. He got one but the flight was scheduled for late afternoon. He sat in the waiting area at the airport with nothing more to do except wait. His phone rang and it was a call from the person he had spoken to on the phone the night before.

"Speak," Jason said as soon as he answered the call and brought the phone to his ears

"Sir, it appears your stepmother has found out about your wife's identity. She sent James to bring her back to Florida. She intends to make her sign some documents making your stepmother the sole owner of the Haward's fortunes," the person said.

"Why?" Jason asked coldly.

"I am not entirely sure sir. I only deduce one thing from all her moves, your stepbrother and sister are equally not Haward's. I am yet to confirm this but looking at Haward's rule of inheritance, her move only tells me your wife is the only true Haward," the person replied.

"Confirm your theory and get back to me," Jason said and ended the call.

Jason sat at the airport in complete silence till the check-in for his flight started. He stood up from his seat and went through it.

"Sir, your luggage?" asked the security person.

"I didn't bring one," Jason replied and they allowed him to finish going through the checkpoints.

Soon he was on the flight back to Florida. Sitting on the plane, his thoughts wandered to James abusing Julia and his aura became colder causing the gentleman sitting next to him to shift in his seat away from him.

Back in Croydon, Peter hailed a cab to Jason's office. He went to the reception and asked for Jason but he was told he had left hours ago. Slowly walking out of the building, he was thinking of where he might go. He had never known him to care so much about a woman but for some reason, he does care about Julia even though he acts coldly towards her, his affection and show of concern are evident.

"Peter," Mr Dickson called out.

Peter stopped at the entrance and turned to find out who had called him.

"I know you came to look for Mr Haward, he left for the airport," Mr Dickson said looking at Peter.

"Thank you," replied Peter and he was about to leave when Mr Dickson stopped him again.

"Is Ms Harrison, Mr Haward's wife?" Mr Dickson asked.

Peter frowned wondering why he wanted to know. He was sure Jason would not share such information with him. Mr Dickson reading the disapproval on Peter's face defended his question.

"Is nothing, he said so himself. I just asked because I thought I may have heard him wrong," Mr Dickson said trying not to bring up the fact that he was thinking Julia was he, Peter, his wife. "He didn't go in the car?" he said, handing the car keys to Peter.

Peter collected the keys from him and drove the car out of the company. He already knew where Jason was heading, Florida. He also suspected James had something to do with Julia's disappearance but he could not understand what James wanted with Julia.

Looking at the time, there is no point in going to the airport. It was too late, he was sure, he was not going to see Jason at the airport. He parked the car in the garage and went inside the apartment feeling guilty. He saw the noodles he had gone to buy still lying on the kitchen counter. He angrily took it and smashed it into the wall and went into his room.

Back in Florida, James had already communicated to his mother, he was bringing Julia as she had requested. Mrs Haward upon receiving this news made a call to the same number she had called the night before.

"Be ready, things will change soon," Mrs Haward said with a smile and ended the call.

She felt there was someone behind her so she turned to find out who it was only to see Mirenda standing at the entrance of her bedroom door.

"How long have you been standing there?" Mrs Haward inquired.

"Long enough to hear everything. What are you planning again mum? Why can't you leave Jason alone," Mirenda complained.

"I am planning your future," Mrs Haward replied and moved towards her bed and sat on it. "You concentrate on your relationship," she added.

"Now get out, I need to rest," Mrs Haward said and Mirenda left her room but instead of going into her room, she went out of the apartment.
