Careful, Your Authority Does Not Extend To This Place
James was sitting on the floor with a gun in hand, pointing at Jason.
Jason stopped in his truck and raised his hand in surrender. James, still pointing the gun at Jason, stood to his feet cleaning the blood coming from his broken nose with the back of his free hand.
"Now, you will do exactly as I say, else you will die here, and your body will be found tomorrow with a bullet between your eyes," James warned, and Jason only stared at him coldly. "You are going to untie Julia from the bed and tie her hands behind her back. Put that jacket hanging there over her and push her to me," he instructed.
Jason stood there still with his hands in the air with no attempt to do as James said.
"Did you hear me? Move now," James yelled, and Jason turned towards the bed Julia was lying on like he was about to go carry James's orders but, in his turn, he quickly delivered a kick to James's hand with his back facing James and spun around to take a stand facing James.
The gun flew into the sky and landed on the bed next to Julia and she screamed. The door flew open at that very moment and Peter walked in and stood at the entrance.
James moved backwards, putting some distance between himself and Jason. He had never seen Jason fight, so he never knew he was very skilled at fighting. Jason had a well-formed body stature, broad biceps and a broad chest, which only meant he goes to the gym regularly but nothing about fighting.
"Now, get out," Jason ordered sternly. "And take your clowns with you," he added coldly.
"I will make sure you end up on the street like in Florida," James warned on his way out.
Peter moved out of the way to allow James and his two men to exit the room.
"Careful, your authority does not extend to this place," Jason reminded James, causing him to halt in his steps.
"But I have contacts," James said, looking over his shoulder.
"So do I. Now get out," Jason said sternly, and James went out of the room with his men following him like a duck and its ducklings.
Jason walked towards the bed and untied Julia. He removed his jacket and covered her with it. She hugged him sobbing as he tapped her back gently.
"Did he do anything to you?" Jason asked, his voice very calm, and Julia shook her head in a no but then pulled away from him, lowering her head.
"I don't know," Julia replied, recalling she had passed out a while earlier.
Julia was unconscious and woke up half-naked and tied to a bed. It didn't feel like something had happened, but she could also not tell what he did while she was unconscious. Jason carried Julia out of bed and they both exited the room and headed for the elevator. Peter pressed the button for the basement.
"It will be the best place to exit this hotel," Peter explained, and Jason nodded.
The elevator door opened in the basement, and they walked towards the exit, making an appearance behind the hotel. They went round it to find the parking lot. Peter quickly opened the back door for Jason, and he first put Julia inside before joining her. Julia rested her head on Jason's shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around her protectively. Peter quickly got behind the wheel and they drove towards their apartment.
Meanwhile, James waits in his car for Jason and his people to leave. Once he saw their car exit the compound, he returned to the hotel.
"You are a bunch of idiots. You allowed a single man to beat you like you are two little girls," James said angrily.
"Sorry boss, we were caught off guard," replied one of James's men.
"Off guard? Off guard, you say? Aren't you supposed to be on guard?" James yelled, turning to face the man who had said that once they were in front of his room. "You are not getting paid this month," he said, and entered his hotel room, banging the door in the face of his two men.
They stepped back with their arms folded in front of them as they guarded his door. James sat on the bed, cursing himself for not sleeping with Julia before Jason appeared. He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialled his mum's number.
"Hello Mum," James said as soon as the call connected.
"You have her?" asked Mrs Haward.
"At least, ask me how I am doing?" James said.
"Fine, I am sorry. How are you?" Mrs Haward played along.
"Good, just had my nose fractured," James replied.
"Fractured? Jason?" Mrs Haward questioned, immediately suspecting Jason had something to do with it.
"Yeah, " James replied.
"How did he find you? Where are you?" Mrs Haward questioned and James hesitated before replying.
"In a hotel?" James replied weakly.
"Where?" Mrs Haward questioned, not hearing him.
"In a hotel," James repeated, but still weakly.
"You will tell what?" Mrs Haward questioned, still not getting what James was saying.
"In a hotel," James said, his voice a bit clear.
"James, what is wrong with you? You are supposed to pick her up and bring her to Florida. How did you two end up in a hotel?" Mrs Haward yelled. "Do you know what is at stake?" she yelled some more.
"I know, I will find her," James assured.
"I don't even get you, why do you want her?" Mrs Haward questioned, knowing the only reason why James took Julia to the hotel.
"Because I like her," James replied quickly, sounding honest. "I can't get her out of my mind. I think about her every day. I think I am in love with her," he said in resignation.
Mrs Haward laughed so hard at the other end of the phone.
"Of course, you are. Just like Delilah was crazy in love with Samson," Mrs Haward said, still laughing, and James rolled his eyes. "James, you don't love her. You are simply intrigued by her. Now get your fake love sick behind out of the hotel and find Julia," she ordered.
"Sure, I will," replied James before ending the call. "Fuck! I had a fine opportunity and I stupidly let it pass me by," he hit the bed with his fist.
"I guess it will be a lot easier if I move her to Florida. Jason will not find me that easily," James thought, and got up from the bed and entered the bathroom.
Jason and Peter took Julia to a nearby hospital to have her checked. Aside from her vitals, which were a bit bad due to what happened, she was fine. They left the hospital and returned home.
Once they arrived at their apartment, Jason carried Julia out of the car, and he asked Peter to prepare hot chocolate milk for him. He continued to their bedroom and laid Julia on the bed, covering her with the blankets. Peter knocked on the door and entered with a cup of hot chocolate drink.
"Thank you, Peter," Jason said, and Peter acknowledged.
Meanwhile, in Florida, after Mrs Haward ended the call, she dialled a number and spoke at length with the person. She ended her conversation by asking the person to be on standby ready.
In Croydon, Jason, after ensuring Julia had finished her hot chocolate milk and was sleeping, dialled a number on his phone and spoke briefly with the person and ended the call requesting the person to be very discrete about it.
Jason ended the call and turned to look at Julia, who had finally managed to fall asleep. He sat on the sofa watching her.
