Julia's Terms and Conditions
"Now, here are my terms," Julia began and Mrs Haward interrupted.
"Your terms?" Mrs Haward repeated with a frown.
"Yes and as a reminder. I am Mr Johan's only child. My father, abandoned me, his only child because of you," Julia said.
"He cheated on me," Mrs Haward threw the words at Julia.
"Yes, he did. An honest mistake. Your first son was a result of a deliberate cheating action on your side. Out of respect for you, I was abandoned, but what did you do, you had another child for him from another man," Julia submitted.
"I was set up," Mrs Haward defended.
"Set up indeed. If you had stayed at home and taken care of your two sons how would you have fallen into that trap," Julia said with a smirk and Mrs Haward stared at her, clenching her fist beneath the table.
If not for the guards in the room with them she would have beaten the hell out of Julia, hearing the words coming out of her mouth right now. Julia could read the anger in her eyes but only smiled at her range.
"So yes, my terms. Either you accept or you go penniless. I will put that in the record and submit it to the court," Julia said.
"So now the flea is bold," Mrs Haward said with a smirk.
"Yes she is, Viper," Julia replied with a sarcastic smile.
"Please write these down for her," Julia said and a guard quickly moved to a seat holding a pen and a paper.
"My father did not request we give you a percentage of the property, so we will not do that. He only said the heir would take care of his wife till she was no more. That is exactly what we are going to do, take care of you," Julia said.
"I am going to rent a two-bedroom apartment for you. You will have a chef, two cleaners, a driver, two guards and a security man. The driver will take you anywhere you want. I will give you something like a pass card. You don't have to worry your head about the food and the household stuff, the servants will take care of that. If you need anything personal, like clothing, accessories, shoes, whatever, go to the shop of your choice and pick them. Ask them to send the bill to me for payment. You can visit any place for fun. Just ask them to send the bill to me and I will make payment. I will take care of your bills and all your expenses will be paid directly by me," Julia said and Mrs Haward raised an eyebrow.
"So I won't have a bank account and credit card?" Mrs Haward asked.
"I have not restricted you on the things you want to do that make you happy. I am just making all the payments for you. So you don't need a bank account and hence you don't need a credit card. You don't need money in your hand for anything," Julia clarified.
"How about privacy?" Mrs Haward said.
"The servants will not stay in the main house with you. They will come to work and go to bed. You have the privacy you want," Julia said.
"No, if I want to buy personal stuff?" Mrs Haward raised.
"If you want to buy personal stuff out of the category of personal stuff I mentioned, you will pay for it yourself. You can get a job. I am not searching for a job for you. I was asked to take care of you and that is what I am doing. It doesn't include finding you a job," Julia said and Mrs Haward frowned.
"I will put this into writing and send it over for you to read and sign. A copy will be sent to the court. I will keep a copy and you will keep a copy so you don't forget," Julia said. "Do you have any questions?" she asked.
"I will take your silence to me you don't. Have a good evening," Julia said and shifted her gaze to Jason. "My love, I am ready to go home," she said staring at Jason lovingly.
Jason smiled at her and offered her his hand which Julia accepted with a smile. They exited the room with the guards following them out.
Mrs Haward frowned. She had thought an account would be created and money would be pushed into it for her use. She had least expected Julia would handle all her expenses. It quickly dawned on her, it was a deliberate action from Julia so they could monitor all her activities. She has money, but none will be passing through her hands. It also means she could not pay people to carry out tasks for her.
"This Julia girl is just like her father. I will find a way to deal with you," Mrs Haward said through gritted teeth.
Outside, Jason and Julia sat in the car and were on their way back to Jason's apartment.
"I am proud of you," Jason said to Julia and she smiled.
"Thank you, my love," Julia appreciated leaning on Jason's shoulder with Jason's arms wrapped around her.
"I was very impressed by the way you handled everything. I like your idea. It is perfect. A perfect way to monitor all her activities, and also prevent her from engaging in anything illegal," Jason said.
"Such praise coming from you feels like an Oscar award," Julia said and planted a kiss on Jason's cheeks.
The driver immediately closed the divider to give them privacy. Jason smiled and kissed Julia on the lips.
"I am glad we met," Jason said and Julia giggled.
"Why are you laughing?" Jason asked also smiling.
"Technically, we didn't meet. I don't know what to call our situation," Julia said. "I saw you as a rude person and later you became terrifying, but the more I was with you I realized those were just firewalls," she added.
"What," Jason reacted with a smile. "Firewalls?" he repeated.
"Yeah. I thought you were rude, but you weren't and you always had that mean terrifying look, but I realized you are a man with a pure loving heart. You give cold vibes to drive away unwanted people," Julia explained playing with Jason's button. "That is firewall," she added with a shrug of her shoulder.
"So what was your first impression of me that morning?" Julia asked.
"Well, I was angry. I thought it was a set-up and someone wanted to use you to get to me," Jason said and lowered his head. "You had such beautiful skin and I felt bad messing it up. I realized you were scared of me, but your presence gave me peace within. I love seeing you," he said and Julia was surprised to hear this confession.
"I know I have not completely healed from the trauma, but I am comfortable with you," Jason said and Julia kissed him.
"I love you," she confessed.
"I love you more," Jason replied.
"Sir, we are home," the driver announced using the intercom.
The door opened and Jason got down first and held out his hand to Julia. They walked towards the house and walked through the front door.
"Thank God you are back," Mirenda said hugging Julia. "Thank you, brother," she said to Jason who was standing on the side.
"You are still here," Jason said.
"You guys were visiting hell to see the devil, how can I go home and sleep," Mirenda complained.
"How did it go? I hope she didn't make silly demands," Mirenda asked staring at Jason.
"My wife handled her like a pro," Jason said and Mirenda shifted her gaze to Julia.
"Well done, Julia. Now I regret not coming along," Mirenda said.
"Well, I will say we had a fruitful discussion and we will do the paperwork tomorrow," Julia said not giving so much detail and Jason smiled within.
"Paperwork?" Mirenda asked surprised.
"Yes, we decided our agreement should be on paper. So that is the paperwork I am referring to. This is to foster a peaceful relationship," Julia explained.
"That is great," Mirenda said and Henry who was standing at a distance away from Mirenda listening to the conversation felt very proud of Julia.
He knew if it was Mirenda in Julia's place, she would have given all the details of the what transpired, but he sees Julia just giving out what is needed.
"Julia was perfect for Jason," Henry thought.
"When I heard she was out too, I was scared for you. We came around to ensure you are fine," Mirenda said. "I know you are her target to get to my brother," she added.
"Thank you, Mirenda. It's late. You two can stay and leave tomorrow," Julia suggested.
"Don't worry, we will be fine," Mirenda said. "We will borrowed the service of two guards," she added.
"That is fine," Jason said and headed upstairs.
"Okay, thanks for passing by," Julia appreciated and also went upstairs.
She went to the nursery and checked on the baby. Little Jason was peacefully sleeping in his cot. Julia picked him up and headed for their bedroom. Jason was standing in the room shirtless. Julia placed baby Jason in the cot inside their room and went to hug Jason from behind. He turned around and kissed her pulling her closer to him. Julia threw her hands around his neck responding to his kisses.
At another location, in the abandoned building, James was sitting on the bed as the bandages were removed from his face. The doctor handed him a mirror once he was done. James looked at his new face and smiled. He looked different.
"Now you need to work on your mannerisms," the doctor advised.
"No problem," James acknowledged. "Black will fly you out of this country. We never met," James added and he got down from the bed.
He headed for the door and went out of the building. He requested a ride with Black's phone to Southwest Ranches.
At Southwest Ranches, Fiona was sitting in the living room watching a telenovela. Her phone buzzed and it was from the security man at the gate.
"Ma'am, there is a man here, Mark Smith. He wishes to see you. He said he is here to help you get your TV channel," the security man said.
"James," Fiona whispered.
"Please I didn't hear what you said," the security man said.
"I said let him in," Fiona said.
"Okay, ma'am," the security man acknowledged.
Fiona stood up and went to the door and stood there staring at the elevator. It finally opened and this stranger walked in.
"How do you I look," James said.
"James?" Fiona asked.
"One and only," James replied.
"From now on, you address me as Mr Mark Smith. Did you get my message?" he asked.
"Yes, the Wellington business has an open vacancy for an office assistant. You can have a look if you would like to apply," Fiona said.
"Good, I will do that tomorrow. Now I need you and rest," James said and Fiona knew what he meant. "How is the baby," he asked heading for the staircase.
Fiona turned off the TV and followed him to the bedroom.
