Honour Your Side of the Deal

"Boss, this doesn't look good, especially for Ms Julia. Is there anything you would like me to do to ensure Ms Julia's safety?" Peter asked on the other end of the call.

"Find out how he escaped and who is the strange woman the media is talking about. I want every detail on," Jason said and the call ended.

Jason stood in front of the door for a while before returning to the room to be with Julia and his baby. Julia noticed the sudden change in his mood and decided to ask.

"Is everything okay?" Julia asked with concern.

"My mum was admitted to the hospital today," Jason said in one breath and Julia looked at him surprised.

"What happened?" she asked sounding surprised by the news.

"Not sure. The doctors are still investigating," Jason replied not ready to share the details with Julia, about how Mrs Wellington made an attempt on her life because her husband refused to forgive her.

"I am so sorry, my love," Julia said, lovingly rubbing Jason's shoulder.

Baby Jason was in Julia's arms, and he was sleeping peacefully. Jason took baby Jason and laid him in the cot. He held Julia's hand and they both headed downstairs for lunch leaving the baby monitor on.

At Haward's International, Mirenda had just closed a meeting and was heading back to her office when her phone buzzed. It was Henry calling.

"Hey love, are you okay?" Henry asked with concern.

"Yeah, I am fine. What happened?" Mirenda asked with concern, reading the worry in Henry's voice.

"Well, James escaped prison. It's all over the internet," Henry informed her and Mirenda frowned.

"How?" she asked hurrying her steps to her office.

"I don't know, but I coming to get you. We will find out the details later. If James is out, there is only one thing on his mind, revenge. So get ready, I am coming to get you," Henry said.

"Okay my love," Mirenda acknowledged and ended the call.

Back at Southwest Ranches City, Fiona had put the baby to sleep. James was relaxing on the bed wearing just a boxer shorts.

"So I am a father?" James said staring at the sleeping baby on the bed.

"Yes, I didn't even know I was pregnant till I went into labour. I found out I was pregnant, the same day I had the baby," Baby said and stood up from the bed.

"She looks so much like me. A female version of me," James said ignoring what Fiona had said as he had his eyes fixated on the baby.

"I need to go to town and get you some clothes, and you can't stay here. If you do, it is only a matter of time before Mirenda or Vera will find you. I have some money. I am going to rent an apartment and you can move in there," Fiona suggested but it appeared James didn't hear her as he was still staring at the baby.

There was no response from him. Fiona was about to call James but her phone rang and it was from Mirenda.

She raised her hand asking James to be quiet after showing him her phone screen. Mirenda's name flashed on her screen. James looked at her briefly and returned his gaze to the baby.

"Hello," Fiona said.

"Hello, Fiona. Hope you are okay now. Look, I just got to know that James had escaped prison with the help of some strange woman. I just called to let you know. Please be extra careful. He may come for you," Mirenda said and chills ran down Fiona's spine hearing the mention of a strange woman.

"Look, on second thought, you can come over to my place. I don't think it is safe to stay alone in that huge apartment," Mirenda suggested noticing how silent Fiona was on the call.

"Okay, I will call you back," Fiona said and ended the call immediately trembling.

"Oh my God," Fiona said and James lifted his gaze to look at her.

He frowned seeing how pale she had suddenly become, trembling like a leaf.

"They know you are out. Mirenda just called to warn me. And it is all over the internet," Fiona said showing one of the news on James' prison break from the internet to James.

"Someone is doing something. I got out just this morning and news had already spread about my escape. No, someone is behind this news," James said, getting down from the bed.

He began to pace up and down hearing the news accompanied by what Fiona showed him, but he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"How much money do you have in your account?" James asked, walking towards Fiona who was standing next to the bed.

"Why? What do you have in mind?" Fiona asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed ensuring she didn't wake the baby.

"A surgery to change my face. I wouldn't have to hide," James said and sat down next to her on the bed.

"That will empty my account?" Fiona complained, staring at him.

"You are on the line too. So this is what is going to happen. You give me the money for the surgery and I will get you protection. I can ask Black to get rid of the footage, if not, I escape and give you away to the police," James threatened and it suddenly dawned on Fiona the terrible mistake she had made.

It has only been a couple of hours and James is already issuing treats, but she felt she was already in and she had to continue. Again, she wanted to be with him. She just nodded to his request.

"Good girl," James said. "Give me your phone," he requested and Fiona gave the phone to him.

"Hello Black, it's me, James. I am out of prison, and I need you to arrange for face surgery for me," he said as soon as the call connected.

"How soon?" Black asked.

"Tonight. I am paying in cash," James said.

"Consider it done, boss," Black said.

"Now, you be a darling and go to the bank and get the money," James said to Fiona.

At another location, in Florida, Maria had just returned home and was on a call with someone.

"Mrs Haward is demanding you honour your side of the deal," the person said.

"Tell her not to worry. I was looking for a huge distraction and her son did just that," Maria said and kicked her shoes off her feet heading for her room.

"I will make sure the news is delivered," the person said.

"And you know what to do," Maria reminded before ending the call.

She tossed her bag to the bed and dropped her phone on the bedside table. She took off her blouse and strode into the bathroom. She returned to the bedroom after a few minutes and found herself something to wear. She sat down on the bed, retrieved her phone and placed a call to someone.

"We have a better distraction. Jane is in the hospital, and Mr Wellington, I heard is dejected believing Jane attempted suicide because of him. James escaped prison and I hear, the family is running to safety keeping an eye out for James. It's a perfect time to get Mrs Haward out to the place I showed you. No one will be watching. You already know what to do," Maria said and ended the call.

"Killing two birds with one stone," she said with a smirk as she tapped her chin with her phone.

Outside, Fiona was at the bank making a withdrawal.

"Ms Fiona, that's a huge amount of money you are withdrawing from your account any specific reason why?" the manager asked.

"It's for a treatment. It's personal, I can't share with you," Fiona said and lowered her head.

After a few questions, the manager approved the withdrawal believing Fiona's story. She walked out of the banking hall with a bag of money. She returned home and ran into Mirenda.

"I came to get you," Mirenda said and Fiona turned white like a sheet.

James was in the apartment and the baby was with him. She was holding the bag in her hand as she stood frozen at the entrance facing Mirenda.
