Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 653: Moon Well

Chapter 653: Moon Well

"Duke, although the Commerce Association has no goods at present, I do have a piece of potentially the most feasible information regarding the dark attribute..." He paused. "I wonder if you’re aware of the recent military and colonial movements of the Empire?"

Duke slightly shook his head. His focus in Anvil Castle and Goldstream City was primarily on knowledge, resources, and personal advancement, without delving deeply into the details of the Empire’s military affairs.

Moreover, the Seville Empire’s military actions were numerous, with countless subordinate planes under its jurisdiction, some already being conquered or developed.

"Just recently," Oliver said slowly, "the Empire’s expeditionary army’s vanguard has officially breached the barrier of a middle plane known as the Dark Elf Plane, which is a very unique plane."

"There, the conceptual sun does not exist. The eternal night is the main theme, with the only light source being three moons of different sizes, colors, and orbiting regulations, unique to this plane dominated by the Midnight Elves. Everything from life forms, social structures, to power systems bears the imprint of darkness and lunar essence."

"And at the core of supporting life and energy in that world," Oliver’s eyes gleamed with a hint of brilliance, "is a natural creation known as the Moon Well. They function like the heart and vascular nodes of that plane, absorbing the special dark energy showered from the three moons, transformed by plane laws, to nourish all things, drive magic, and even provide the vitality source for certain ancient inheritances."

On hearing this, Duke’s heart stirred, "The Moon Well... is in itself a high-quality dark attribute energy source?"

"Exactly!" Oliver affirmed, "Furthermore, it’s not merely a standard energy crystal. A complete Moon Well, especially those ancient ones worshipped and maintained through generations by Midnight Elf tribes, contains pure, stable dark lunar power with unique life activity and rule imprints. With the proper conversion, stripping and restructuring by our Wizard methods, it can wholly be transformed and elevated into an extremely excellent dark attribute Energy Well, possibly accompanied by some unexpected properties."

Hope appeared, but Oliver quickly changed his tone: "However, this is where the problem lies. This strategic resource, concerning a plane’s lifeblood, once controlled by the Empire’s military and subsequent colonial development agencies, is extremely unlikely to circulate to the market through normal commerce channels. They may either be requisitioned directly by the Empire for research or as rewards for meritorious service, or be reserved in advance, divided among major figures or organizations with extensive influence. Even if one or two allocations occasionally reach the auction house, the fierce competition and exorbitant prices would likely go beyond normal expectations with many variables."

As the unique energy and resource of the Dark Elf Plane, the Moon Wells are almost impossible to flow out to the market, at least initially.

Such things only circulate among a minority; ordinary people couldn’t purchase them even if they had the money.

Oliver gazed at Duke, his tone becoming significantly meaningful: "Thus, for those who genuinely want to ensure obtaining a Moon Well and transforming it into their own Energy Well, awaiting market circulation holds little hope."

Duke grasped the hint from the other party and directly questioned: "In your opinion, what is the reliable way?"

Oliver sat up straight, his tone becoming formal and clear: "Participation, Duke."

Across all forces within the Wizard Plane, there exists a consensus that what wizards obtain in plane wars belongs to them personally.

This is an agreed norm among all wizards, and no one would violate this rule.

This implies that as long as Duke can join the warfare in the Dark Elf Plane and personally acquire a Moon Well, it unquestionably belongs to him.

No one can seize that Moon Well from him, irrespective of who they are.

The current problem is that Duke is unaware of how to participate; generally, he might lack the qualifications.

Since this is an official military operation of the Seville Empire, it inevitably sets certain requirements for participants, and whether his breakthrough identity could assist him in joining remains unclear.

Duke was not opposed to this; he had participated in multiple plane wars and recognized that plane warfare was indeed the best means of acquiring resources.

For him, missing this opportunity meant it was uncertain when the next chance to obtain a dark attribute Energy Well would arise.

Duke possessed the Skill Tree and wasn’t worried about insufficient Spiritual Power for advancement to Level 2 Mage, only about the lack of corresponding resources.

Therefore, if there was an opportunity, he wished to try.

"This sounds more like a public, high-risk high-reward adventure suggestion," Duke said calmly, "But Oliver, as Deacon, you wouldn’t mention this without a more specific collaboration proposal, would you?"

"Talking to smart people is easy." Oliver applauded, ceasing to be indirect, "Duke, our Star Dome Commerce Association, as the Empire’s top resource and trade organization, naturally will not miss such a plane festivity. We have our channels, intelligence networks, and even deep cooperation and investment within the vanguard army. We are also recruiting capable individuals, participating as specially licensed explorers or collaborative mercenaries in the development of the Dark Elf Plane, seeking maximum benefits for our association and individual explorers."

His gaze rested on Duke, carrying a sense of evaluation and invitation: "Frankly, when you revealed your breakthrough identity, I took note. A breakthrough achiever who accomplished the ten consecutive S+ evaluations at Level 1, possesses potential and combat ability far beyond the ordinary at the same level; you precisely are whom our association wishes to recruit as a cooperation partner."

Duke understood; the revelation of information about the Moon Wells was not merely a sharing of intelligence but a targeted recruitment invitation.

"If I agree to participate in the war affairs of the Dark Elf Plane as a specially licensed explorer for the Commerce Association," Duke slowly inquired, "What do I get, and what do I need to bear?"

"What you get is a powerful logistical support platform," Oliver immediately replied, clearly well-prepared, "including: priority access to the latest and most accurate battlefield intelligence and maps of the Evernight Forest collected by our association; usage rights and some supply discounts at the association’s facilities in forward base; consulting and channel support for identifying, securing, transporting, and subsequently reforming spoils, including the Moon Wells; and when encountering non-combat troubles, seeking limited assistance from the Commerce Association’s diplomatic channels."
