Chapter 651: The Transformation of Divine Status

Chapter 651: The Transformation of Divine Status

Here, there was no direction, no clear sense of the passage of time, only an ancient, tranquil feeling, full of infinite vitality and possibilities.

At the end of this field of light, Duke’s gaze was firmly attracted by a figure.

It was the back of a woman, standing on the horizon of the sea of light.

She didn’t appear tall, yet it seemed she was the only real and true center and coordinate in the entire space.

Just this silhouette alone exuded an indescribable beauty and nobility.

It wasn’t the beauty derived from appearance or figure, but her very existence conformed to some supreme law of harmony and perfection, the ultimate image of everything positive like light, life, order, and hope condensed together.

Duke’s heart seemed to stop beating; he knew what he was seeing.

Even if it wasn’t the true form of the Goddess of Light, it was at least the most genuine imprint she left in this plane’s faith core.

The silhouette appeared to move slightly, not turning around, but rather as if speaking toward this boundless field of light, towards the direction where Duke was.

No sound came, nor any direct spiritual message.

Duke only felt a wave of intention or law fluctuation, immense beyond imagination yet subtle beyond comprehension, brushing across his entire being like a gentle tide.

Amidst his immersion in this simultaneously shocking and bewildering sensation, the distant beautiful silhouette seemed to become more blurred and faraway.

A gentle yet irrefutable power softly enveloped him, as if a mother laying an infant back into a cradle.

The light before his eyes circulated, the scenes rapidly retreating.

...

The cold touch of the stone slabs in the square returned, and the low murmurs of prayers from devotees in the distance once again surrounded him.

The glow of the setting sun fell on his face, carrying a warm aftertaste.

Duke suddenly opened his eyes; his pupils contracted in an instant and then returned to normal, as if just breaking free from an incredibly real yet fleeting long dream.

He still maintained a cross-legged posture, sitting on the white jade square outside the base of the statue of the Goddess of Light, position unmoved, as if only a moment had passed.

But it seemed some changes had occurred.

He immediately sank his mind into his Spiritual Sea.

The Light Divine Status, positioned at the core of the six-element compound spiritual crystal like a miniature sun, remained quietly suspended, emitting a steady and restrained radiance.

Duke clearly perceived that the connection between the Divine Status and his spiritual power crystal had undergone some fundamental yet indescribably precise change.

Before, though the Divine Status was situated in the crystal core and subject to his control,

it was like a rare gem embedded atop a scepter; though part of one entity, the gem was a gem, and the scepter was a scepter.

But now, that sense of separation had vanished.

Every fine thread of radiance emitted by the Divine Status resonated and integrated seamlessly with the spiritual power crystal.

It no longer seemed like a gemstone set into it but more like an inherent part of this unique six-element compound spiritual crystal, condensed through Duke’s cultivation.

As if when this crystal first formed, it was naturally meant to include such a core.

Duke attempted, as usual, to carefully draw upon the vast and immeasurable power within the Divine Status.

The result was the same. The vast, seemingly all-illuminating power contained within the Divine Status remained like an ocean sealed within the most solid crystal, calm and undisturbed.

He could sense its existence, could know it was closely connected to him, could even vaguely perceive the nebulous outlines of grand laws contained within.

But regarding that power far beyond his current level, Duke was still unable to wield it.

The root cause lay in his current Life Level being too low.

This state was akin to a baby inheriting the highest authority mark of an ancient kingdom.

The mark was blood-bound and unique, representing his undisputed ownership.

But with his current strength, he couldn’t even lift the greatsword symbolizing authority, let alone command any power within the kingdom.

However, unlike before, Duke now could more clearly feel that barrier.

It wasn’t rejection or sealing by the Divine Status itself, but seemed more like a natural safeguard and restriction based on himself.

The power of the Divine Status was too immense, and its status too high; forcibly invoking it in his current state would only result in self-destruction.

The greatest benefit of this close connection might be that in the future, when he grows enough to bear a hint of the Divine Status’s power, the barrier will naturally and seamlessly open the corresponding valve.

Evidently, the Goddess of Light in the Wizard Plane, which is also the plane’s will, had given Duke a hand.

The plane’s will naturally helps the native beings, especially those with potential.

If Duke could be selected as the child of the plane, he would receive even more attention and care.

Given that the plane’s will had inspected and found no issues, it proved that this Light Divine Status indeed had no hidden dangers.

The Goddess of Light also conveniently helped Duke better attune to the Divine Status’s power, paving the way for the future.

Duke stood up and solemnly performed a Knight’s salute towards the statue of the Goddess.

Then he turned and steadily walked away from the temple square, his figure blending into the thickening twilight and the first flickers of light in the ancient city of Kabro.

After leaving the Kabro City temple square, Duke didn’t linger in this city of light for long.

He only stayed here briefly overnight, planning to set off for another place the next day.

This place is Golden Flow City, a super commercial hub renowned for trade within the Seville Empire, gathering rare treasures not only from the East and West Coasts but from many planes.

It’s said that there, as long as you have enough magic stones and access, there’s almost nothing you can’t buy.

Duke directly purchased a Floating Airship ticket to Golden Flow City through the Thought Core, which indeed made things much more convenient as it avoided the need to go to the port to buy a ticket.

The next morning, at the break of dawn,

Duke arrived at Kabro City’s air harbor on time. A Floating Airship named Pioneer docked at the port, its streamlined silver-gray hull visible in the morning mist.

Through the VIP fast lane, Duke boarded the airship.

The first-class cabin was located on the upper front part of the airship, also designed as a private suite, but with a more minimalist design style, using a lot of matte alloy and soft light crystal to highlight functionality and privacy.

The exclusive butler was a half-elf with a gentle expression and impeccable manners, who, after a brief welcome and introduction, did not disturb him further.

The airship lifted off on time, passing through the clouds, leaving the sacred outline of Kabro City behind, speeding towards the northeastern hinterland of the Seville Empire.
