Chapter 927: A Heart Softened
Chapter 927: A Heart Softened
She spat out the snow from her mouth, patted her mouth, dusted off the snow from her body, looked up, and gave Maxwell Saxon a mischievous smile: "I’m fine, let’s continue!"Just like Maxwell Saxon said, skiing is a pretty fun sport.
Even though Scarlett Yates had fallen many times and her whole body hurt, the joy skiing brought her outweighed everything else. Even if she had to fall ten more times, she would be willing.
"Are you really okay?" Maxwell Saxon frowned as he looked at her, hesitating for a moment before suggesting, "Why not take a break first? Skiing isn’t something you can learn in a moment, so there’s no need to rush."
"I’m really fine." Scarlett Yates was in high spirits and wouldn’t bear to stop, shaking his hand ever so slightly, her tone naturally tinged with a hint of coquettishness, "Maxwell Saxon, you said you could teach me in an hour, don’t go back on your word. I’ve just learned a bit; if I rest now, I’ll forget everything when I come back. Let’s continue; I want to learn quickly."
She was dressed in a red ski suit, her body wrapped in thick clothing, with a helmet on, revealing only part of her face, making her dark eyes appear particularly large.
Those big, bright eyes gazed at him longingly, her small hands tugging at his arm, gently shaking...
With that gentle shake, Maxwell Saxon’s heart softened into a puddle.
His heart swayed along with hers, as if her hand wasn’t holding his arm but was instead gripping his heart and shaking it.
"Are you really okay?"
"I’m fine, really."
"Does your body hurt from the falls?"
"Not at all." Scarlett Yates patted her thick ski suit, "These clothes are so thick, falling is like landing on cotton, it doesn’t hurt at all."
Maxwell Saxon was amused by her words, his lips curling into a light smile, "Alright then, I’ll continue teaching you, but if you get hurt from falling, don’t push yourself."
After another seven or eight falls, Scarlett Yates finally managed to slowly ski with some proficiency.
Having just learned how to ski, she found it incredibly fun and hadn’t had enough even after two hours of playing.
It wasn’t until she was truly exhausted that she collapsed onto the ground and gasped for air in big gulps.
This is being tired but happy.
Scarlett Yates was extremely tired, yet felt extremely happy.
All around was pure white, snowflakes drifted down beside her ears, as if feathers brushing by.
The surrounding was occasionally filled with cheerful laughter as she lay motionless in the snow, too tired to even wiggle a finger.
Feeling a familiar, chilly presence beside her, Scarlett Yates didn’t turn her head to look and simply closed her eyes to rest.
After resting with her eyes closed for a while, she slowly opened them and softly asked, "Maxwell Saxon, did you choose to come to the snowy mountains because you know I love snow?"
"Yes, I promised you," Maxwell Saxon’s voice was soft, with a faint smile, as he splayed out beside her on the ground, his helmet discarded to the side.
"All these years, you still remembered. Can I take this to mean that in your heart, I’ve always been important?" Scarlett Yates turned her head to glance at him, meeting his slightly surprised gaze.
They exchanged a look, she curved her lips into a smile, turned her head back, and in a lowered voice said, "If you really like me, could you promise me not to harm Matthew Saxon’s life no matter what?"
