Chapter 6: Suppressed
Chapter 6: Suppressed
Inside the executive suite at Chujiang Hotel.
In the afternoon, Zhao Yanxi originally planned to explore the museum until closing time, but there were just too many people. People were trying to chat her up, asking for photos, and some were even secretly taking pictures of her with their phones, which annoyed her greatly.
Wenjing huddled behind her the whole time, like a frightened rabbit.
Before four o'clock, the three of them fled back to the hotel in a sorry state.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom; Hua Yue was taking a shower.
Zhao Yanxi had already taken a shower and removed her makeup. Wearing a loose, pure white short-sleeved shirt, she was hopping around on the large mattress in the master bedroom, her two straight and slender legs bare.
Without her cosplay makeup, she exudes less of the deliberately created allure, revealing a more natural, youthful, and beautiful appearance.
She was a natural beauty, with fair and radiant skin, relaxed eyebrows and eyes, a high nose bridge, and long, wet, black hair cascading over her shoulders, with tiny water droplets clinging to the ends, swaying gently as she danced.
The hem of her short-sleeved shirt only reached mid-thigh; with each leap, the hem fluttered up, revealing a glimpse of her firm, white buttocks…
"This bed is so comfortable!"
Zhao Yanxi jumped high again, then threw herself into the soft bedding, letting out a satisfied sigh.
I picked up my phone, and on the screen were the meticulously edited photos Ding Heng had sent me that afternoon.
She carefully looked through the photos, selected one of herself turning her head to the side with a lively look in her eyes, and neatly set it as her new WeChat profile picture.
Then he picked up the hotel brochure on the bedside table and his eyes lit up as he looked at the pictures of the heated swimming pool, rooftop bar, and spa center.
"If I had known the afternoon session would be this boring, I would have preferred to stay at the hotel... This pool looks amazing, and that rooftop restaurant, they say the view is unbeatable... What a rip-off."
After muttering her complaints, she turned her gaze to the headboard.
Wenjing hadn't had a chance to shower yet, but she couldn't bear to wear that rough-made cosplay outfit anymore.
The wig, bowler hat, dress, sleeves, and boots were all taken off and carefully draped to one side.
Only the pure white pantyhose remained clinging to her skin, wrapping around her from her toes all the way to her waist.
The silk, as thin as a cicada's wing, shimmered with a hazy, pearly sheen under the overhead light, clearly outlining the soft lines of the girl's legs, as well as the delicate contours of her slightly undulating pink knees and ankles.
The edge of the stockings was cinched at the waist, forming a faint boundary with the fair skin.
She wore only a light blue cotton short-sleeved shirt that she had brought with her. The shirt was slightly loose, but it was still supported by the full curves of her chest, creating a breathtaking shadow that formed a suggestive area between the hem and her white stockings.
Zhao Yanxi moved over silently and suddenly hugged Wenjing from behind, resting her chin on Wenjing's thin shoulder.
"ah!"
Wenjing was so startled that she almost dropped her phone.
Zhao Yanxi grinned mischievously: "How far have you been chatting with your photographer? You've been so distracted all afternoon."
"What nonsense are you talking about!"
Wenjing hurriedly locked the screen: "We didn't talk much at all. After sending the photos, he didn't send any more messages."
"Yeah?"
Zhao Yanxi clearly didn't believe her, poking Wenjing's burning cheek with her finger: "Then what were you doing all afternoon, glued to your phone, seemingly lost in thought?"
"I...I'm replying to messages."
Wenjing quietly defended herself, then turned the screen back on and showed Zhao Yanxi the chat history: "Look, it's my sister. She asked if I wanted to work part-time during the summer vacation. A newly opened McDonald's is hiring short-term workers, and the hourly wage is decent... Yanxi, do you want to go?"
Zhao Yanxi glanced at it casually, showing little interest.
She suddenly tilted her body and unceremoniously rested the back of her head on Wenjing's smooth, firm, and perfectly fitted white silk thighs.
"Hmm...it's quite soft."
Zhao Yanxi looked up, her vision filled with a huge shadow, from which she could vaguely glimpse the snow-white skin and delicate collarbone, rising and falling slightly with her quiet breathing.
She reached out as if possessed and gently poked the soft edge that was so close to her.
"Hey! Zhao Yanxi, what are you doing!"
Wenjing blushed and slapped away her best friend's mischievous hand, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
"Tsk, stingy."
Zhao Yanxi pouted, still resting her head on Wenjing's soft and comfortable thighs, her tone suddenly becoming serious.
"I'm saying, are you really planning to take a summer job? Spending the whole summer in a fast food restaurant, sweating buckets, that's such a waste of time."
"What's been delayed?"
"Let's date!"
"I...when did I say I wanted to be in a relationship...?"
"Still pretending?"
Zhao Yanxi rolled her eyes: "Don't tell me you have absolutely no feelings for that Ding Heng?"
Wenjing instinctively wanted to retort, but something seemed to be blocking her throat.
She lowered her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly: "I...maybe I really just meant well..."
"Kindness?"
Zhao Yanxi suddenly sat up, grabbed Wenjing's shoulders with both hands, and forced her to look at her.
"Wenjing, we've graduated from high school and are adults now! Can't we be more realistic? Ding Heng gave the three of us free, professionally edited photos and let us stay in a five-star hotel suite. Do you think he did it out of kindness?"
To put it bluntly, he definitely has feelings for you!
"Don't, don't talk nonsense."
Zhao Yanxi stirred up the ripples in Wenjing's heart that she had deliberately ignored.
There was a secret joy mixed with even more unease and shyness.
Zhao Yanxi's eyes suddenly lit up, and she adopted a tone that was half joking and half serious.
"Hey, Wenjing, can I talk to you about something?"
"W-what?"
"If you're really not interested in him, or don't want to talk about it for the time being... then how about giving him to me?"
Wenjing was completely stunned, staring blankly at Zhao Yanxi, her mind unable to process what was happening.
"Can we still give in on this?"
"Why can't it be?"
Zhao Yanxi shrugged, exuding a reckless boldness.
"Let's get to know each other, see how it goes. If we get along, great; if not, forget it. At worst, I'll just sleep with you!"
"Me, you!"
Wenjing was stunned speechless by her best friend's blunt and inappropriate words.
Zhao Yanxi chuckled instead, reached out and ruffled Wenjing's hair, speaking in a deliberately mature tone.
"Didn't I tell you? I've been so bored during my three years of high school. I absolutely have to have a first love after graduation, the kind that's passionate and intense! This Ding Heng seems to perfectly fit my initial screening criteria."
Zhao Yanxi was indeed severely suppressed.
Strict parents and heavy academic pressure meant that all the restlessness and fantasies of adolescence were suppressed under thick sets of exercise books.
Now that the shackles have been removed, those suppressed thoughts have grown wildly like weeds.
She has many suitors, but they are either immature, boring, or have such strong ulterior motives that they make her uncomfortable. None of them can arouse her interest.
Wenjing asked curiously, "Why Ding Heng? You two have only known each other for a short time."
Why?
Zhao Yanxi counted on her fingers: "First, he's handsome and pleasing to the eye."
Secondly, having a little money means one won't be stingy.
Third, be courteous, know when to advance and retreat, and avoid being disliked.
Fourth, he's a great photographer. If he became my boyfriend, wouldn't he be able to take amazing photos of me for free, without limit, anytime, anywhere?
Wenjing retorted irritably, "Just because of these things, do you think people are that shallow?"
"Am I superficial?"
Zhao Yanxi retorted, unconvinced, "Xiao Jingjing, all those precious comic books in your drawer, which male protagonist isn't handsome, rich, and devoted? Why don't you say those authors are superficial?"
"I...that's different!"
Wenjing was speechless after being rebuked, and her face turned even redder.
Comics are a beautiful fantasy, but reality is never that simple.
"What's the difference?"
Zhao Yanxi snorted softly, raised her hand and slapped Wen Jing's white silk thigh lightly, making a soft "smack" sound.
"what!"
Wenjing, being quiet and sensitive, pulled her leg back.
"It's settled then!"
Zhao Yanxi made the final decision: "If you have feelings for Ding Heng, I, your sister, will definitely not compete with you! If you don't, just send me his WeChat contact information, and I'll add him and chat with him myself."
The bathroom door clicked open, and Hua Yue came out, drying her hair. Curious, she asked, "What were you talking about?"
Wenjing felt a strange tightness in her chest, a bittersweet feeling, as she sensed the eager glint in Zhao Yanxi's eyes.
In the end, she opened her phone, found Ding Heng's business card, and sent it to Zhao Yanxi.
"Add it yourself."
Then, as if fleeing a disaster, Wenjing grabbed the change of clothes she had prepared in advance and rushed into the bathroom.
Ten minutes later.
After taking a shower, Wenjing changed into her usual T-shirt and casual pants and walked out of the bathroom, only to see Zhao Yanxi looking dejected.
"What's wrong?"
Wenjing dried her hair with a towel and asked softly.
Zhao Yanxi looked up, her expression sullen: "He has set his privacy settings so I can't add him directly via his business card."
"what?"
Wenjing paused in her movements.
Zhao Yanxi immediately jumped out of bed, rushed to Wen Jing's side, hugged her arm, and rubbed against her like a spoiled big cat.
"Little Jingjing~ So Jingjing~ You're the best! Please help me!"
"How...how can I help?"
"Why don't you talk to him about it? Try recommending my WeChat account to him."
"This... how could I possibly ask?"
"Then what else..."
Zhao Yanxi's eyes darted around, and an idea came to her.
"Invite him out for lunch tomorrow, it's on me!"
"Want to meet up?"
Wenjing looked completely bewildered.
Zhao Yanxi had already prepared an excuse: "Let's just say it's to formally thank him for what happened at the hotel room today, and also to apologize properly. After all, didn't you feel bad about misunderstanding him before?"
One sentence pinpointed Wen Jing's feelings, and that heavy sense of guilt surged up in her heart once again.
An apology is indeed appropriate.
Alternatively, if it's just a simple meeting...
Finally, Wenjing took a deep breath.
"All right……"
