Why do I keep attracting Villainesses?

Chapter 25

Chapter 25

Chapter 25.

I pushed with everything I had, feeling my muscles bulge and strain. I heard her let out a small grunt of surprise as she was tossed backward.

I scrambled to my fin, gasping for breath, ready to keep swimming.

But then I froze. My face turned pale, and the blood in my veins felt like it had turned to lead.

As she floated there, righting herself in the water, I saw something I wished I hadn’t.

A long, red claw wound was stretched right across her beautiful face.

In my blind panic, in my desperate attempt to get her off me, I had actually struck my mistress and clawed at her face.

She floated there in total silence. The water stayed still around her. It was like the whole ocean was holding its breath.

She looked stunned, as if she herself couldn’t believe that I, her pet, her "dogfish," a mere human, would dare to raise a hand against her.

Her right hand moved slowly, almost like it was moving through honey. She reached up toward her face, her fingers shaking slightly.

She touched the blood leaking out from the scratch on her cheek. She pulled her hand back and stared at the red on her fingertips, still looking like she couldn’t believe it was real.

But then, her eyes changed. They began to tremble, and a dark, burning rage filled them.

"You ungrateful wench!!!!" she screamed.

BOOM!!!

The water exploded outward in a massive shockwave as she shot toward me like a cannonball.

I couldn’t even blink, let alone react. She was on me in a fraction of a second.

Grabbing me by the throat and waist, using her insane speed to drive me backward.

She slammed me through the coral bed, using my body like a plow. I felt countless reefs shatter against my spine.

My skin being torn away as she dragged me through the jagged rocks.

I couldn’t even scream because of how she was strangling my throat at the same time..

The pain was so intense it just felt like a white-hot fire consuming my entire body.

Every bone in my body felt like it was ready to snap.

BAM!!!

Eventually, she struck me against a huge rocky outcrop. The sound of the impact was like a thunderclap.

I felt the rock behind me give way, spiderweb-like cracks spreading across its surface from the force of my body hitting it.

I slumped against the rock, struggling to catch even a tiny bit of breath, but the real hell was only beginning.

She didn’t let go. Her eyes were still trembling with that terrifying, mindless rage. She pulled back her fist and began to rain blow after blow upon me.

Each punch felt like being hit by a sledgehammer.

My head snapped back against the rock over and over again. I felt my nose break. my ribs cracking.

Each blow forced me to spit out blood into the water, the red mist becoming so thick I could barely see her face anymore.

As more of my blood filled the water, that familiar bloodlust tried to emerge.

but it was quickly beaten back into submission. Her blows were so heavy and ruthless, that my body couldn’t even focus on being a predator.

It could only focus on the agony.

The shark didn’t want to come out anymore; but wanted to hide in fear.

It’s wasn’t a lie to say that I couldn’t fight back at all.

I couldn’t even lift my arms to protect my face.

After the first few blows, I was already teetering on the edge of passing out.

My vision was stained in the deep red of my own blood, and my ears were ringing so loud it drowned out the sound of the ocean.

I was just a punching bag for her without being able to resist.

I don’t know how long it lasted. It felt like hours, but it might have only been minutes.

When finally, the brutal assault stopped.

My head hung low, my chin touching my chest.

My left eye was swollen completely shut, so bruised and puffy that I couldn’t see anything through it.

With my hazy, blurry right eye, I looked up. I saw her floating a few feet away, panting heavily.

Her chest was heaving, and her hands were completely covered in my blood. It was dripping off her fingers, staining her pink hair and the scales on her waist.

She stayed there, catching her breath, the silence of the deep returning to the reef.

Feeling my gaze on her, she shifted her red-shot eyes toward me. She looked like she was ready to start again, but then she truly took in my appearance.

She looked at my broken body, the way I was slumped against the cracked rock, and the massive cloud of blood that surrounded me.

She froze in silence.

The silence continued to persist until eventually, A look of frustration, maybe even a tiny bit of something I couldn’t tell, flashed across her face.

" Look what you made me do!!!"

" Idiot! Idiot idiot! All you had to do was kill it!"

" Why did you have to make me do this!" She yelled out me, her frustration growing even more.

" ARRRGH!!!" With one final scream, She gritted her teeth, her jaw tight.

a booming sound that shook the water as she turned and swam off into the dark blue without saying another word.

I watched her figure vanish into the distance, becoming smaller and smaller until she was gone.

Only then, when the fear finally left my body, did I let my eyes close.

The darkness rushed in, and I fell unconscious, drifting alone in the blood-stained water.

I didn’t know if I was going to wake up. Honestly, as the coldness of the ocean started to seep into my broken bones, a part of me hoped I wouldn’t.

This world under the sea wasn’t a fairy tale. It was a nightmare one I didn’t want to see ever again.
