Who Made Her an NPC?!

Chapter 241 : Bai Fu: I Want to Fight Ten!

Chapter 241 : Bai Fu: I Want to Fight Ten!

Chapter 241: Bai Fu: I Want to Fight Ten!

From Ulysses to Boli, if it were an ordinary spacecraft, even with the route mapped out in advance, it would still take over ten days.

To catch the assassin as soon as possible, Bai Fu had no choice but to travel light. Aside from Silent Night, all other ships were left behind.

This time, accompanying her were Anya, Cypris, Cessia, and Yulia.

Among them, Anya and Cypris were essential. Both of them were psychics, giving them a natural advantage in apprehension and interrogation.

Scarlet Leaf did not come, though she very much wanted to. But it couldn’t be helped.

She was not an employee of Dark Moon Tide, but the branch head of Star Pact.

Since being appointed as branch head, she had long become a hands-off manager. While mundane daily tasks could be handled by Green Slime, for more critical matters, if she didn’t personally confirm, no one dared to act.

So, Scarlet Leaf had to return to the branch first.

She actually wouldn’t be gone long—at most a month.

But that was only “not long” to others. To her, even a month was too long.

Never mind a month—even two or three days was terrifying, okay?

Scarlet Leaf didn’t even want to imagine how thirsty Cessia must be now, after being restrained under her watch for so long. Catching this chance while she was gone, who knew how insane she would go.

If she didn’t leave some countermeasures behind, by the time she returned, Bai Fu might have already been pinned down and wrung dry by that damn perverted spider girl Cessia.

Just look at the size difference between Bai Fu and Cessia.

Even though Bai Fu was also big, next to Cessia… they simply weren’t in the same weight class.

Cross-class fights usually ended very badly.

To avoid such a tragedy, before leaving, Scarlet Leaf specially sought out Anya, hoping she could stay close to Bai Fu at all times to guard against any sneak attacks from Cessia!

She initially thought of asking Yulia, but then recalled that Yulia had come into contact with Cessia during an experiment, which made her uneasy.

What if Yulia got bribed by Cessia?

What if the two of them teamed up against Bai Fu?

In the end, Anya was the safest choice. She was young, easy to talk to, and as Bai Fu’s younger sister, had no ulterior motives.

She could definitely guard her!

“Don’t worry, Sister Scarlet Leaf! I’ll stay by Boss’s side the whole time—eating, sleeping, and bathing… heeheehee… In short, I won’t give that bad woman Cessia any chance!”

Anya patted her own little buns.

Good, that’s the spirit. Reward her!

Scarlet Leaf gifted Anya a pile of trinkets.

Just imagining Cessia helpless under Anya’s watch, left to sigh longingly at Fu, made her hum with satisfaction.

Wonderful, wonderful.

After Scarlet Leaf departed, Anya pursed her lips.

Even without Scarlet Leaf’s reminder, she wouldn’t have given Cessia any openings.

What a joke—Boss was hers!

But this worked out well. Right now, no one considered her a threat. Everyone thought she was just the Boss’s normal little sister, which gave her a perfect opportunity.

“I need to keep reinforcing this stereotype. Just like how Boss fools everyone into thinking she’s a saint, I’ll make Scarlet Leaf and the others truly believe I’m just her ordinary little sister. That way, when they’re all busy guarding against each other, even asking me for help, I can openly snuggle up to Boss!”

Anya giggled.

All thanks to Boss’s teachings—without her, she never would've thought of this kind of trick.

Ahem.

Aboard the ship.

Anya walked over to Bai Fu, who was studying a map.

“Boss, we haven’t bathed together in ages. Let me scrub your back!”

Bai Fu smiled and said, “I’m still looking at the map and planning our ambush route. You go ahead and wash up first.”

Anya shook Bai Fu’s shoulder. “It’s fine, Boss. You don’t need to do anything—just keep looking at the map. I’ll clean you inside and out!”

Anya-style service—satisfaction guaranteed!

Bai Fu turned to look at Anya, who was grinning from ear to ear.

Did you just say “inside and out”?

Little kids shouldn’t say such weird things!

“Come on, come on. Back at the abandoned cooling plant, we bathed together to save water, didn’t we? Let’s relive those memories today. I promise I won’t do anything weird.”

Coaxing like a spoiled child, Anya managed to drag Bai Fu into the nearby bathroom.

She really didn’t intend to do anything weird.

Too much was as bad as too little!

Let Boss get used to the normal first—then doing the abnormal would come naturally.

Elsewhere on the ship, Cessia was looking for Bai Fu.

“Have you seen Bai Fu?” she asked Yulia, who was sitting at the bar sipping a drink.

Yulia said, “She’s with Anya.”

Anya was there?

Cessia felt a deep sense of regret.

That meant she couldn’t spar with Bai Fu.

She couldn’t very well have Anya watching and commenting while they fought, could she?

Her perversion didn’t lie in that direction.

“Those two sisters really are close. So enviable,” Cessia sighed.

Yulia said nothing and downed her drink in one gulp.

You won’t think it’s “close” for long.

But she didn’t plan to say it outright.

……

A few days later, the ship safely arrived at Planet Boli.

During the flight, Bai Fu kept in contact with that player named [In Love With Trains].

Perhaps for resupplying, or maybe because Boli was a good hiding place, the suspected assassin NPC hadn’t moved much these past few days.

Bai Fu quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Now she could catch him in one go and immediately refine him.

“Keep the ship in outer space—don’t get too close. The target’s too big, he’ll definitely get spooked. We’ll fly over directly.”

Once everything was arranged, Bai Fu carried Anya and flew toward Boli’s atmosphere.

With Anya’s current S-rank strength, flying wasn’t difficult, but she was too slow. Bai Fu had to carry her.

As for Cypris, she simply latched onto Bai Fu’s back. Bai Fu originally wanted Cessia to carry her, but Cessia said she couldn’t get along with spiders, so Bai Fu gave up.

The five moved quickly. With psionic energy wrapping them, they left no trace while piercing through the atmosphere.

Soon, Bai Fu found In Love With Trains at the agreed location.

“Fu fu fu fu fu fu……”

“Shh.”

Bai Fu gently pressed her finger to her lips, signaling In Love With Trains to stop shouting.

Then, she handed over a bottle of Rose Blossom Potion as a thank-you.

“Take me to that alien.”

“Roger that!”

Suppressing his excitement, In Love With Trains led Bai Fu to a secluded courtyard at the city’s edge.

Through the window of a dilapidated two-story house, Bai Fu saw an NPC who clearly didn’t resemble the native Bolians, nervously operating a square mechanical box.

Bang bang bang!

The NPC occasionally punched the box, muttering in a local dialect from the Taim Civilization.

[Main Class]: Streamlight Shadow Lv9 [+110], Taim Death Warrior Lv10

Bai Fu glanced at the attribute panel revealed by Spirit Vision.

Calamity-class, and the class included a Taim Death Warrior. No need for further investigation—she was 99.9% sure this NPC was the assassin who killed the leader of the Taim Civilization.

“Close the net.”

Bai Fu conjured a Prison Domain card and a Dark Vortex card out of thin air.

Swoosh—

The cards turned into countless stardust, and in the next second, the courtyard where the assassin resided was completely sealed off.

……

At the same time, in the second-floor bedroom.

N2 stared dead at the miniature ultralong-range communicator in front of him.

Bang!

He slammed his palm on the communicator, producing a harsh noise.

“What did you say at the beginning? You said as long as I cooperated and played the fugitive game for two to three months, you’d find a way to send me to the Supernova Battle Group. And what now, is this a game? Those chasing me are really trying to kill me! And this chase has been going on for eight months—eight damn months! Do you know what I’ve been through in those eight months?”

For the past eight months, he had been fleeing all over the unfamiliar Dark Region, barely enjoying a moment of peace. He didn’t dare rest, fearing that even a slight lapse would lead to real capture.

He had enough—completely enough of this life.

Had he not luckily found a civilized planet, he would’ve already lost his mind by now.

“Damn it all, let’s make this clear right now—if you don’t send someone to take me to the Supernova Battle Group and end this farce like you promised, I’ll expose the truth behind the assassination! Don’t think I don’t know who’s really behind this, and don’t even think about silencing me—could a brainless Death Warrior ever ascend to Calamity-class?”

“Answer me, damn it, why aren’t you… huh?”

N2’s body suddenly stiffened. His eyes fell on the top-left corner of the screen, where the signal indicator numbers were fluctuating erratically, staying at a very low level.

Someone was jamming his signal!

Was it the natives of this planet?

No.

They didn’t have that capability. Then it must be—

“No need to guess—it’s me. I found your little speech just now quite interesting. Would you mind telling me who ordered you to assassinate the leader of the Taim Civilization, and who ordered them?”

The door was suddenly pushed open, and a girl in black high heels walked in with a cheerful smile.

The smile on her face was as warm as spring wind, but N2 didn’t feel warm at all—instead, he felt like he had fallen into an icy pit.

Because he carried a miniature ultralong-range communicator, he had some understanding of recent events in the Fringe Worlds.

And the tight-suited girl who had just entered was none other than the famous Bai Fu.

She had torn down Secret Tower with her bare hands, kicked the Calamity Legion, and drove Bloodthorn to flee in panic.

Such a Bai Fu was in no way comparable to a mere weak Calamity-class like him.

Why was she here?

It’s over!

The overwhelming difference in strength left N2 with no desire whatsoever to taste Bai Fu’s fists or feet.

All he felt was despair and resentment toward those who sent him.

Was Bai Fu sent by them to silence him?

Maybe not. But if they had kept their promise, he wouldn’t be cornered by Bai Fu here in the first place.

Huff huff—

N2 panted heavily.

As Bai Fu raised her right hand, ready to give him a taste of her power, he suddenly asked, “Did those who ordered me send you here to silence me?”

Bai Fu shook her head. “No.”

“Good.” N2 gritted his teeth. He chose to trust Bai Fu, because her reputation was simply too solid. Until now, no one had heard of her deceiving or bullying anyone. “Since you came to me, it must be for the truth. Who sent you? Never mind, that doesn’t matter. I can tell you everything you want to know, but you have to promise me one condition.”

“What condition?”

“Escort me out of the Dark Region. I’ll tell you everything once I meet the person who sent you. But I must warn you—it won’t be easy. Those who ordered me have surely developed the intent to kill me by now. They placed special marks on me. No matter where I run, they can find me. So you’ll have to endure their encirclement and pursuit to bring me to the one who sent you.”

“If I don’t agree, are you planning to give up and let it all go, since either way you’re dead?”

“Exactly.” N2 took a deep breath. “To show my sincerity—if you agree to cooperate, I’ll immediately tell you half of the answer. That is, the true identity of those who ordered me.”

At that moment, a task notification rang in Bai Fu’s ears.

[You have triggered the Taim Civilization main quest: [The Führer’s Wrath]]

The task required uncovering the truth behind the assassination.

The rewards for this quest far surpassed those of the previous main quest, [Deep Sea Underflow].

Although the EXP reward was only 50 million, there was a special reward—

A random psionic skill (Calamity-class exclusive)!

It seemed that N2 was hiding something serious.

Bai Fu didn’t agree immediately and instead asked, “If those people come to kill you, how many will they send, and what’s their strength?”

N2 quickly answered, “They won’t act too publicly, so at most they’ll send a small ship. As for strength, I’m sure there’ll be at most one upper Calamity-class among them. As for weak Calamity-class, maybe a few, but not too many—they don’t have that kind of power.”

One upper Calamity-class and a few ordinary weak Calamity-class?

Bai Fu was instantly reassured.

Forget having Cessia to support her—she wouldn’t be afraid even alone. She hadn’t been honing herself all this time for nothing!

“Deal!”

N2 let out a long sigh. “The ones who ordered me to assassinate the leader were the Glorious Forces. You’ve probably heard of them. As for the true mastermind behind the Glorious Forces, I’ll only tell you once I meet your employer, as agreed.”

Bai Fu frowned slightly.

She had suspected something was off about the Glorious Forces ever since reading their intel. Now it seemed she was right.

Could the true mastermind be one of the three major universe-level civilizations?

No.

If that were the case, the reward for this task would have increased dozens of times over.

“No time to waste. Let’s leave now.”

N2 had no objections.

Bai Fu took him and a group of players who were still on Planet Boli and headed back toward the Fringe Worlds.

Came in a flash, gone in a flash.

Two days later.

Somewhere in the Dark Region’s starry sky.

Silent Night gradually reduced engine output, slowing the ship’s speed.

Through the porthole, Bai Fu saw a shuttle-shaped ship appear in the distance. For a spacecraft to suddenly appear in the desolate Dark Region, it was almost certainly a team sent by the Glorious Forces to intercept N2.

“Get off the ship.”

Bai Fu said to N2 and Cessia.

She had no interest in engaging in ship-to-ship cannon warfare. If her ship got blown up first, she’d have to wait for Scarlet Leaf to come pick her up—what a waste of time.

Seeing Bai Fu leap out of the ship first, the people from the opposing ship were not to be outdone.

They followed in quick succession—ten people in total.

All ten exuded incredibly powerful life force. Clearly, they were all Calamity-class.

“Ten Calamity-class!?”

N2 exclaimed through the communicator, his face turning pale in an instant.

That was more than half of the Glorious Forces’ elite combat power.

Ten people—even Bai Fu couldn’t possibly stop them, right?

He was doomed.

N2 never imagined the Glorious Forces would send so many people just to kill him. Were they spooked by his shout over the ultralong-range communicator, claiming he knew the true mastermind?

Now he regrets everything.

If he had just kept quiet, with Bai Fu’s protection, he would’ve had a real shot at escaping.

But now, it was too late for anything.

“Ten people, huh? That’s a bit much, but since there’s only one upper Calamity-class, it’s manageable.”

Unlike N2, Bai Fu actually breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing so many opponents appear all at once.

No Sovereign present—that made everything negotiable.

She quickly did the math. N2 could handle one, Cessia would take two, her Psionic Legion would handle another two. As for herself—was taking on five Calamity-class enemies really that hard?

Weak Calamity-classes were called “weak” for a reason—compared to upper Calamity-classes, they really were weaker.

“You’re going to fight seven?”

N2 was dumbfounded, wondering if he’d misheard something.

“Five!” Bai Fu tried to correct him. What her Psionic Legion fought and what she personally fought were slightly different matters.

N2 didn’t care about such distinctions. “Seven Calamity-class enemies—that’s not something you can just…”

“Let’s get started then. If it gets too much for you, just give me one. With my ability, even if three of them gang up on me, I won’t die right away,” Cessia cut him off. “Tch, Scarlet Leaf, that deserter—if she were here, this would’ve been so much simpler.”

Bai Fu deeply agreed.

Crude words, but sound logic. If Scarlet Leaf were here, she could stall two Calamity-classes. Bai Fu would only need to take on three—wouldn’t that be a piece of cake?

Wait—were they even listening to her?

N2 was getting anxious.

But Cessia gave him no time to panic. “Stop dawdling. If you think one’s not enough for you, I’ll give you one of mine.”

N2 immediately shut up and rushed ahead, quickly picking an opponent whose ability didn’t counter his own.

Aboard the ship.

Watching Bai Fu’s back as she stood alone against seven enemies, the players who had just joined Silent Court were all stunned.

[Fu Fu is that strong?]

[Did she activate it?]

[Not turning it off means it’s on?]

[Why are you still standing around? Start the stream already.]

The players aboard the ship all scrambled into action.

The calmest person aboard was none other than Anya.

You guys are always so easily shocked—this is Boss Fu Fu we’re talking about. So what if she’s fighting seven?

Let’s have some freshly chopped melon while we’re at it.

Anya and Cypris happily munched on melon, not noticing a shadowy figure silently watching Cypris from the darkness.
