Chapter 957 - 976: Han Xiayang Alone in the Empty Chamber

When Han Xiayang received a call from An Nan, he was at his girlfriend Shen Mengqi’s house. Last night after investigating An Liyan’s matters, he returned home, managing to get into his girlfriend’s house as desired, and lay on her big bed. He originally thought that even if there wouldn’t be any action at night, at least he could have a good sleep with his beloved.

But things developed in a way that made him feel like crying. Wasn’t it agreed they’d rest together? How did it turn out like this?

He was left alone on the bed, guarding an empty room, while the one he thought would be with him—after smiling and welcoming him in—simply walked back to the room, took out a quilt, and seeing this, he was dumbfounded: "Darling, what do you mean by this?"

The latter casually raised her eyebrows, looking at him as if he was stupid: "Isn’t it obvious? I’m sleeping on the sofa bed tonight, so you can have the bed."

There was only one room here, and she promised to let him in at night, so she would stick to her word, but it didn’t necessarily mean sleeping together. Therefore, tonight she was on the sofa, and he got the bed.

Saying this, Shen Mengqi lay down on the sofa: "Go to sleep quickly, I have to go to work tomorrow morning."

Having left this remark, she didn’t glance at his aggrieved look anymore.

Han Xiangyang was still prepared to protest, but she, as if having a third eye, continued with her eyes closed: "Don’t negotiate with me, you have half an hour, if you don’t sleep now, get out."

Han Xiayang, scared, rushed into the room and lay on the bed, full of grievance: "Not good, not good at all, I feel terrible, I need a break tomorrow, a break!"

Though he continued to complain, he hugged the quilt tightly in his arms, breathing the occasional faint fragrance, then smiled slightly and drifted off to sleep.

The next day, he woke up on time, sat up suddenly from the bed, and dashed into the living room, but he was disappointed. He looked in the bathroom, the dining room, the kitchen, but didn’t see that woman. It was then that he remembered, she must have gone to work.

You should know, in her heart, An Nan was most important, secondly was work, and as for him, the boyfriend, he was tactfully shoved out of her priorities, far away, which made him feel stifled just thinking about it. Just a month ago if someone had told him he’d be so devoted to a woman, he probably wouldn’t have believed it.

Early in the morning, he couldn’t help but feel distinctly disappointed again. He crawled back under the covers, trying to comfort his wounded heart with the familiar scent of the quilt, burying his head in it, he started wailing: "Ahhhh, when will these days come to an end, when can I become the sole one in her heart?"

It became a lifelong struggle for him, working towards this goal, yet never quite achieving it.

Han Xiayang’s wailing didn’t last long. His phone rang, and he assumed it was a call from work, deciding not to pick up. But the phone kept ringing tirelessly, seemingly implying that if he didn’t answer, it’d never stop. Seeing it was An Nan’s number, he was instantly intrigued.
