Chapter 1020 - 1039: A Harmonious Scene in the Kitchen

Lin Mubai didn’t show any displeasure on his face due to the other’s deliberate provocation, remaining indifferent, as if he wasn’t the one being provoked.

"Is that so?" Gathering up the disappointment and struggle on his face, An Liyang’s lips curled into a slightly charming arc.

He then continued speaking: "Then why don’t you tell me what you’ve guessed, let me analyze it for you and see if you’re correct."

Lin Mubai looked at the person in front of him, the flamboyant aura suddenly emitted around him gradually merged with the An Family’s eldest son from many years ago, realizing that he truly was the same person from back then, only having learned to deliberately hide and restrain.

The disdainful glow appeared again at the corner of his mouth; although unwilling to admit this fact, he still felt that some things are better laid out clearly. So he said to the other without hesitation: "You like Nannan, don’t you? Your return is also because of this reason."

While saying this, he subtly noticed the shift in the other’s eyes, as he expected, a flicker of struggle passed through them, followed by an indifferent demeanor: "I don’t know what you’re talking about? I already have a fiancée. How am I supposed to explain if she hears you say this."

As the other denied it, Lin Mubai didn’t continue to press the matter, directly stepping away towards the kitchen though his voice still reached the other’s ears: "When you figure it out, you can come find me."

For a man having unusual thoughts about his wife, he shouldn’t have been so amiable; however, for someone with such experiences, he couldn’t be too harsh, only trying his best to persuade himself.

Seeing Lin Mubai walk in, An Nan, who was helping in the kitchen, had a hint of delight in her eyes: "What brings you in here?"

Lin Mubai lightly smiled, then spoke: "I came to see if you’ve destroyed the kitchen."

"No way, I behaved well, didn’t I? Ask Uncle Liang and Aunt Fu if you don’t believe me."

Amidst his wife’s complaints, Lin Mubai affectionately tapped her nose and continued laughing: "Looks like lunch will be even more delicious today."

An Nan’s puzzled gaze remained on his face.

Lin Mubai continued to laugh and explained: "With wife’s hard work involved, how could it not be delicious? Right, Uncle Liang, Aunt Fu?"

An Nan, apparently not expecting him to speak like this in front of Uncle Liang and Aunt Fu, had her cheeks flushed, reproaching him: "How shameless you are, daring to say anything." Speaking like this in front of Uncle Liang and Aunt Fu, it’s simply embarrassing.

As soon as An Nan finished voicing her complaints, the kitchen resounded with resonant laughter.

The laughter also attracted An Liyang from the living room, though he stood outside the kitchen door without stepping in. If you closely observed his eyes, you’d notice the pain and struggle flickering briefly upon seeing the harmonious scene in the kitchen, then he unhesitatingly turned and left.

An Liyang made his way through the mansion’s living room, the front door, the garden, returning to his car.
