When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster

Chapter 388: Nanny Warren Arrives

Chapter 388: Nanny Warren Arrives

Adrian Lancaster waved him off, and he bowed before leaving.

Taking off his apron, Adrian came to his wife’s side, pulled her closer by the shoulders, and said, "Quick, go wash your face and brush your teeth. I’ll wait for you to try my culinary skills."

Five minutes later.

The two sat across the table, which was laden with a lavish breakfast: toast, milk, steak, sandwiches, and snow fungus with lotus seed porridge...

"Why did you cook personally? And get up so early." She was touched.

Adrian Lancaster brought a slice of steak, using a silver fork, to her lips, his gaze profound and affectionate. "I just learned, wanted to show off a bit in front of you."

The girl opened her mouth to bite into the meat, gently chewing and savoring it. "As expected of President Lancaster, your learning ability is impressive. I still remember when we first met, you even burned the dumplings."

"Are you complimenting me?"

The girl’s eyes held a smile. "Why wouldn’t it be a compliment?"

Seeing the glint in her eyes, the man curved his lips into a charming smile. "Going to accompany Dad later, just don’t tire yourself out. Your own health is what matters most."

"I know, I’m just going to take a walk and chat with him. How exhausting could that be?" Faye Turner truly was kind-hearted. "Don’t worry about me, focus on work."

"Faye, when do you plan to start the medication?"

"No rush." She had her own thoughts. "I want to gain his trust first. He doesn’t feel secure around people. Adrian, do you trust me?"

"In what aspect?"

"I’m saying he can stand up, he is aware. Do you believe me?" Faye Turner still trusted her own judgment.

Adrian Lancaster held a milk glass, met her gaze. He wanted to believe, but such things were indeed astonishing.

His hesitation made her understand that it wasn’t about belief or disbelief; it was truly too unbelievable, hard to believe.

"That’s alright, you just need to trust me. I’m genuinely doing this for your good, and I’m trying my best; that’s enough." The girl smiled warmly.

Adrian Lancaster had complete trust in her.

He nodded, trusting his judgment and instincts.

"Thank you." Faye Turner was very moved; she was just his flash marriage wife, yet he trusted her unconditionally.

After breakfast, Adrian Lancaster received a call, and he bid farewell to her before heading to the company.

Faye Turner walked him to the yard, watching as he got into the car. "Mr. Kerr, be careful on the road, goodbye."

Watching the Lamborghini drive out of sight, Faye Turner was about to walk back inside when a car was stopped at the gate.

She froze for a moment, and her phone rang soon after.

She glanced at the display and then looked towards the gate, swiping to answer. "Hello, this is Faye."

"Miss Turner, this is Nanny Warren. I’m at your gate, I saw you in the yard. I want to meet you, I’ve come alone. There’s something very important I need to tell you!" Her voice was slightly trembling, a little urgent.

After hanging up, Faye Turner thought for a full minute before walking towards the gate.

She wasn’t alone now, she had a child, and she had promised Adrian Lancaster to protect herself.

"Let her in." Faye Turner arrived at the gate and spoke softly.

But the bodyguards felt uneasy, looking at each other before lowering their heads, not taking action.

Nanny Warren was anxious, and embarrassed.

"It’s okay, let her in." Faye Turner said to them again.

Still, no one let her in.

One of the bodyguards apologized, "Madam, it’s not your call; she’s associated with the lady, and we’re here to prevent the lady."

Having said that, it became even more awkward.

But Nanny Warren didn’t care about the awkwardness and quickly explained, "Miss Turner, I came today without the lady’s knowledge, not at her direction. I truly have something very important to discuss with you alone—it’s about Caleb Lancaster!"

Those three words hit her heart like a heavy hammer!

Faye Turner directly reached out, took Nanny Warren’s hand, and pulled her inside with determined steps.

"Madam!" The bodyguards were anxious but didn’t dare stop her, choosing instead to take out their phones.

"Don’t call Adrian Lancaster. He has very important matters this morning."

Faye Turner stopped and turned her eyes. "In our own place, it’s impossible for anything to happen, and I won’t be the only one in the living room."

After speaking, she led Nanny Warren further inside, and Nanny Warren felt deeply apologetic.

"Miss Turner... I... I’d rather not go into the living room. Let me give you a brief explanation here in the yard."

Nanny Warren abruptly stopped in her tracks. "They’re acting on orders, and they can’t bear this responsibility if something happens to you. Let me discuss with you under their watchful eyes."

Nanny Warren insisted on stopping and freed her hand from Faye’s palm.
