"Are you going to support me?" She looked at him and blurted out.
"It’s not impossible," he said without hesitation, "Supporting a hundred of you is a piece of cake." But his tone lacked warmth, as if fulfilling a duty.
"Of course not!" Faye Turner threw off the quilt and started changing her clothes, too. "A girl must be independent, a marriage reliant on a man won’t last."
"That depends on the kind of man you’re with, don’t generalize," Adrian said, picking up his phone and stepping out.
Faye Turner was left staring at his tall, slender back, wondering, when did he become like this?
He always gave her the illusion of love.
If she wasn’t careful, she could easily fall into his tender embrace, defenseless.
But Faye Turner was very clear that she needed to restrain herself and stay sober!
