Chapter 496: Clingy Like a Plaster (Part 6)

Ignoring the glaring scene over there, Sheng Jianan got up and forced a smile: "Anle, I’m leaving now. I’ll come to pick up Xiao Yi at eight tomorrow morning to see the exhibition."

After Sheng Jianan finished speaking, he didn’t even glance at Shen Jiyan and strode out.

As his figure disappeared at the doorway, Shen Jiyan suddenly lifted his leg and chased after him.

"Ji Yan..."

Su Anle couldn’t help but speak, but Shen Jiyan walked straight out as if he hadn’t heard her.

Sheng Jianan had just entered the elevator, and before the door closed, Shen Jiyan was already hot on his heels.

Without Su Anle present, the two men, both equally strong in aura, instantly seemed to be on the brink of confrontation.

Sheng Jianan narrowed his eyes, a chill radiating from him all over, yet Shen Jiyan wasn’t afraid of him, pressed "1", and the elevator moved downward.

Walking out of the hotel entrance, Shen Jiyan finally called out to Sheng Jianan: "Jianan, can we... talk?"

Sheng Jianan raised an eyebrow, his handsome features appearing vibrant under the moonlight and lamp lights.

Can’t lose face, can we?

Discussing matters between men doesn’t always require a café or a serious, formal restaurant setting. They drove to the riverside, where Sheng Jianan got out of the car and bought the most expensive, yet in his eyes ridiculously cheap, beers from a chain convenience store by the roadside.

Both leaned against the car, each holding a can of beer, gazing at the river surface, and Shen Jiyan spoke: "Really not planning to let go?"

Sheng Jianan shot him a sidelong glance, lazily throwing out two words: "Nonsense."

Shen Jiyan wasn’t annoyed. There was an indescribable subtlety to their relationship; they had actually known each other from a young age, just like Zhou Chengze and Xu Muyun, but Shen Jiyan felt different from them.

Like Sheng Jianan, Shen Jiyan had been surrounded by a halo since childhood. Perhaps two people standing at the top of the pyramid both had some sort of Achilles and Hector complex, evidently supposed to be brothers but often ended up seeming like strangers.

But whenever there was any cooperation, there was an indescribable tacit understanding between them.

Shen Jiyan chuckled: "OK, I’ll be frank. There’s nothing between her and me."

Sheng Jianan remained in his lazy posture, but the corner of his mouth curled up slightly: "I know."

"I’ll tell you something, as an equivalent exchange, help me find someone."

Sheng Jianan squinted, seemingly unimpressed.

What nonsense, could he be impressed? Even if he believed that Shen Jiyan had nothing to do with that woman, they had spent three years together, which was enough to irritate him just thinking about it.

Sheng Jianan snorted coldly: "Do I, Sheng Jianan, need you to tell me anything I want to know?"

After speaking, Sheng Jianan casually added: "If you want to negotiate terms with me, forget it. Goodbye."

Just as Sheng Jianan turned and was leaving, he heard Shen Jiyan’s equally casual remark: "Oh? Then I want to ask, do you know why she left with me back then? You know, your Miss Tang and I were just nodding acquaintances."

These words successfully halted Sheng Jianan in his tracks. He knew Tang Yanqi had left with Shen Jiyan on his private jet, but he really didn’t know the specific reason.

As Shen Jiyan had said, they were just nodding acquaintances. Given that woman’s personality... it didn’t make sense no matter how you thought about it.

Sheng Jianan turned back, squinting as he looked at Shen Jiyan: "Speak!"
