Chapter 478: You’re Finally Back (Part 8)

Su Anle arrived at the airport, intending to buy the next flight back to France, but was informed there was a problem with her passport. She tried several times but to no avail, and Su Anle frowned.

This identity was given to her by Shen Jiyan. Although her everyday life and travel usually had no issues, it absolutely could not be scrutinized further. Therefore, whenever the airline said she should check her passport with the public security bureau, Su Anle could only retreat quietly.

Yet she had used this identity for three years without any problems. Why was it not working now?

Finding a place to sit down, Su Anle was about to buy tickets on her phone when a message popped up plainly.

[Anle, wait for me there. Sheng Jianan won’t let you go. Take care of yourself—Ji Yan]

Su Anle’s brows furrowed again. Before she had a chance to put down her phone, a series of horn sounds erupted outside. She looked over but couldn’t see clearly and could only witness a commotion among people, followed by the sight of a tall man leading them.

Causing chaos at the airport twice in one day—who else but Sheng Jianan could pull that off?

Sheng Jianan’s gaze tightly locked onto Su Anle amidst the crowd, striding towards her. His eyes were deep, and although his brows faintly retained the wildness of the past, he now exuded a steady aura that overshadowed his few remnants of brashness.

Sheng Jianan halted before Su Anle, looking down with eyes fixed firmly on her.

"Journalists are outside; shall I let them in, or will you come with me?"

Su Anle’s gaze was calm, yet her brow involuntarily furrowed.

"The identity you didn’t manage to expose three years ago—I don’t mind exposing it now."

Su Anle’s brows knitted completely. This man... this man, what else can he do besides threaten her?

First using airport security to threaten her, now using journalists.

She had noticed Sheng Jianan’s change; over three years, this man matured and became steady, his aura of a ruler even stronger than three years ago, as if with him around, the sky wouldn’t fall.

Yet the childish streak within him remained unchanged.

Sheng Jianan took a step forward, leaned over, his lips brushing against Su Anle’s ear, his voice low and alluring: "Yanxi, now that you’re back, don’t try to run. As long as I don’t let go, I guarantee you won’t step out of B City. Do you believe me?"

Finally, a trace of emotion surfaced in Su Anle’s eyes, her lips pressed together, and a hint of anger colored her gaze.

He was the one who told her to leave, and now this insistent stance that they must be together—is it a joke?

Or was it that his previous words were spoken in the heat of the moment, and now, calm written back on him, her leaving became defiance of his male dignity and pride, and thus he wants her to stay?

Su Anle’s hand involuntarily clenched. Actually, she knew that Sheng Jianan might have just been carried away by his emotions when he said those hurtful things. After all, she had seen the way he used to treat her well.

But when he was most sad and vulnerable, he didn’t want her. When his emotions surged, the person he hurt was her. What does that mean?

It means he likes her, but at most, it’s just liking.

Once, she risked everything for his mere liking, but now she gives up; she no longer wants it.

If he can’t give me deep love, why should I forgive and forget?
