Chapter 251: Tang Yanqi, Let’s Have a Child (Part 1)
It’s the evening rush hour, the car just moved a street before it was stuck, completely immobile. Tang Yanqi stuck her head out to glance at the relentlessly long rows of red taillights outside, hesitated for two seconds, handed money to the driver, opened the car door, and sprinted through the traffic jam like a cannonball.
At this moment, what flashed through Tang Yanqi’s mind was the kind yet stern face of Mr. Sheng and the profound fear Sheng Jianan showed last time at the hospital.
Tang Yanqi was small in stature, but she wasn’t slow when she ran. She hurried breathlessly to the hospital, dashed into the lobby, and came to a halt, hands on her knees, gasping for air. However, she didn’t pause for long, gritted her teeth, and headed upstairs.
The hospital lobby had an atrium design, allowing a clear view of the downstairs from above. Tang Yanqi didn’t know her figure had already been deeply etched into someone’s eyes.
She arrived at the door of the operating room, where all the Sheng Family members were present. As before, but this time, each face was filled with anxiety, and no one had the leisure to notice her.
Tang Yanqi looked at Sheng Jianan standing at the door of the operating room and walked over. Just as she got close, Sheng Jianan, who initially had his head lowered in contemplation, suddenly reached out and hugged her.
His arms were strong, even squeezing her slightly painfully, yet inexplicably, a surge of strength suddenly arose within her heart, an inexplicable force.
Mr. Sheng was Sheng Jianan’s weakness; Tang Yanqi knew this well. After pausing for two seconds, she reached out to embrace the man in front of her, wanting to give him some strength. Having his weakness exposed, Sheng Jianan was now as fragile as a child.
Tang Yanqi couldn’t understand where her confidence was coming from. Regardless, a voice in her heart was telling her that this was the right thing to do.
Sure enough, after feeling her embrace, Sheng Jianan held her even tighter; the two hugged openly and didn’t care who saw them, not letting go until the lights in the operating room went out.
Tang Yanqi felt completely numb all over, but now she didn’t care much. She listened to the doctor together with Sheng Jianan.
Tang Yanqi initially thought Mr. Sheng had a relapse, but after listening to the doctor, she learned that Mr. Sheng had actually fallen out of a wheelchair, resulting in a fractured rib.
Though this might not be fatal for the average person, it was definitely painful, not to mention Mr. Sheng’s old age, hardly capable of enduring such an ordeal.
Fortunately, the old man was blessed; though the injury wasn’t light, it wasn’t severe enough to be life-threatening.
Relieved by this news, Tang Yanqi let out a breath, whereas Sheng Jianan was brimming with anger.
His cold gaze swept over everyone behind him, his thin lips parting slightly, each word like Antarctic ice lasting a thousand years: "Can someone explain this to me? Hmm?"
Sheng Jianan’s gaze didn’t fall on Tang Yanqi, yet nevertheless, his cold tone involuntarily sent chills down her spine.
Mr. Sheng fell in Sheng Family’s place, a family with so many people, yet still allowed an elderly man to get hurt, it was understandable why Sheng Jianan was angry.
As expected, as soon as his words fell, a maid dressed in a white top and black pants "thump" knelt to the ground. Tang Yanqi clearly saw that she wasn’t kneeling to beg; her legs had simply gone weak.
"Young Master, I...I didn’t mean to...I didn’t..."
Sheng Jianan’s aura was too strong, leaving the maid frightened and struggling to speak properly.
