When 'God' Decides To Start Over

Chapter 689 - 281: The Power of One Shot

Chapter 689 - 281: The Power of One Shot

On the city wall at a corner of Longevity City, Li Changyin and Han Minghui stood side by side, also observing the situation over there.

"As we anticipated, facing the Spirit Forging Level whose strength is unknown, even neutral ones like Mo Wuya and the old immortal wouldn’t dare to make a move easily, no one can help Li Xiu," said Han Minghui.

"The people of the Sun Family won’t easily get involved in such a conflict, Bodoss is cold and ruthless, even less likely to intervene. Without Wan Chaocun, Wan Chaoxin is still a bit lacking; his strength hasn’t reached true Commander Level. Even if he wants to help, he doesn’t have the capability," Li Changyin said mildly.

Li Changyin didn’t mention Li Kuan, since Li Kuan is part of the Li Family, it’s even more impossible for him to help Li Xiu.

"Huh? The old immortal wants to help Li Xiu?" Han Minghui frowned when he saw the old immortal walking over.

Li Changyin’s eyes flashed coldly, "Some people live too long and their minds become unclear."

"With the old immortal intervening, our plan might fail this time." Just as Han Minghui said this, he saw Li Xiu donning the Demon Armor and unexpectedly flying away alone from Spiral Mountain towards the Great Sound Gate.

"He refused the old immortal’s help and intends to face the Peacock War God alone?" Han Minghui turned in astonishment to look at Li Changyin, "Patriarch Li, is there truly no armor at the Magic Armor Research Institute that can rival the magic spirits at Spirit Forging Level?"

"Absolutely not," Li Changyin frowned and said, "Previously, when Bai Wanli was in charge of the magic armor group, nothing from the Magic Armor Research Institute could be hidden from him. Before Li Xiu came, the strongest armor at the institute could only compare to the Super Spirit level, not even having a set to rival the Light Base level armor. In such a short time, how could they create an armor capable of contending with Spirit Forging? Even if they could create it, the resources provided to the institute don’t include the materials and energy of Spirit Forging Level; they have no conditions to create it."

Though Li Changyin spoke these words, he felt something was amiss in his heart. Someone like Li Xiu wouldn’t do something so reckless; observing all his actions since coming to Longevity Heaven shows that while he seems to take reckless risks, he actually has calculations in mind.

"Then we need to watch closely what he plans to do," Han Minghui said slowly as he kept his eyes on Li Xiu clad in Light Armor.

Watching as the Peacock War God, riding a peacock, was about to rush out of the Trial Gate, the Magic Armor Masters coming to assist incessantly were bombarding from all directions with Demonic Light, which posed no threat to the Peacock War God.

As beams of Demonic Light fell outside the Peacock War God, who seemed like a Demon God, they were shattered by the golden glow without touching his body.

Among the residents of the nearby shantytown, many elderly, women, and children, though the Magic Armor Masters helped with the evacuation, there was simply not enough time.

Once the Peacock War God fully charges out of the Trial Gate, his power can be released recklessly, and the nearby area will likely be utterly destroyed by then.

"Hurry, everyone, hurry up, run for your lives." Hua Mei lifted the collapsed house to rescue the people inside, urging them to flee quickly, while glancing towards the direction of the Great Sound Gate. Seeing the magic spirit was about to rush out, the golden light brightened tens of miles around, making everything appear as if coated with a layer of gold.

The people desperately evacuating to the distance, seeing the massive figure like a Giant God, were filled with despair.

Such a terrifying magic spirit, even if it didn’t intend to kill them, just the aftermath of its battle could crush them to death.

"It’s too late," Hua Mei gritted her teeth, the Light Patterns on her body rose as she instantly soared into the sky, drawing a beautiful arc, her hands unleashed Demonic Light, blasting towards the Peacock War God like two laser beams.

Her armor was much stronger than that of ordinary Magic Armor Masters, capable of unleashing Super Spirit Level Demonic Light, yet even so, her Demonic Light still had no effect, exploding outside the magic spirit without penetrating the Body-Protecting Magic Light.

Hua Mei knew it was because the level difference was too vast; this magic spirit was unimaginably terrifying, beyond what she could handle.

Looking towards the direction of Longevity City, seeing no one of Commander Level appear, Hua Mei felt a burst of despair in her heart.

"With such a level of magic spirit emerging, logically there should be a Commander Level strongman to suppress it, yet not a single Commander Level person has acted, surely because of Li Xiu’s situation; that’s why those Commanders haven’t taken action..." Hua Mei couldn’t help but harbor some resentment towards Li Xiu.

If not for Li Xiu, if Bai Wanli still controlled the magic armor group, the Li Family wouldn’t stand by idly, they would surely send Spirit Forging Level experts to suppress this magic spirit.

Now that Li Xiu has become a Commander, they hate to see him die; how could they possibly step in to assist?

Li Xiu, holding the position of Commander, yet without a Commander’s competence, the ones to suffer will only be the residents of Wansheng Town.

Hua Mei, born in Wansheng Town, once part of the lowest tier Fishman, deeply understood how much harm the magic spirit bursting from the Trial Gate could inflict on those Fishmen.

In her childhood, she practically grew up in the fear of death. Every time a magic spirit burst out, it affected numerous residents of Wansheng Town to die, survival wasn’t based on one’s own abilities but purely on luck, hoping no magic spirit would burst forth from the Trial Gate near one’s home.
