Chapter 644 - 266: Return to the City of Light

When leaving Changsheng Tian, he still lay inside the coffin on the beach before being transported out.

This feeling was very strange. With Li Xiu’s sense of judgment, not to mention lying in a coffin, even with a few more layers of boxes, he should still be able to discern direction and position.

After just over an hour, Li Xiu felt the coffin stop, and then the coffin lid was pushed open by someone.

Once out of the coffin, he found they were already at a deserted forest outside the City of Light.

Sha Chu also came out of another coffin, and once they were out, eight individuals wearing Bronze Masks took the two coffins away.

Li Xiu closed his eyes and recalled the trip before heading back the same way. When he felt he was at the location where Changsheng Tian should be, he found it was merely a forest, with no beach or ocean in sight.

"There’s no point in searching, no one can find where Changsheng Tian is located." Sha Chu said beside him.

"If we don’t find the way in and out of Changsheng Tian, it will eventually be a problem." Li Xiu looked around, but there was no apparent path leading to Changsheng Tian, just remote wilderness with nothing nearby.

Unable to find the way, Li Xiu had to bring Sha Chu back to the City of Light.

Upon entering the City of Light, Li Xiu felt the city was vastly different from before. In such a short time, there were many newly constructed buildings within the city, people bustling on the streets, making it seem very prosperous.

"Chu Jun and A Fei did a good job." Li Xiu was greatly satisfied seeing the City of Light doing much better than before he left.

"City Lord!" Ye Yuzhen saw Li Xiu and happily greeted him.

"Looks like you’re doing well." Li Xiu said, patting Ye Yuzhen on the shoulder, noticing his luxurious attire.

"City Lord, I haven’t embezzled anything. These are things I exchanged for after killing demon spirits in the Land of Trial myself." Ye Yuzhen quickly explained.

"No need to be so tense, I’m happy that you’re all doing well." Li Xiu replied.

Back at the City Lord’s Mansion, Chu Jun, A Fei, Ye Xiyuan, and Ximen Guan came over one by one. Seeing it was about time for a meal, Li Xiu had A Fei arrange food, and everyone sat down to eat and chat.

"Old Guan, if I asked you to return to Changsheng Tian now, would you dare?" Li Xiu asked as Ximen Guan had nearly finished eating.

"Why would I go there?" Ximen Guan scoffed.

"Your Blood Seal Stone is still in Changsheng Tian, and the fact that you escaped is already known by their president." Li Xiu said.

"It was exposed that quickly?" Even though Ximen Guan was prepared for this, he couldn’t help but sigh heavily. "You don’t need to worry; if Changsheng Tian wants my life, let them have it."

"Old Guan, don’t be hasty, it’s not that bad. Death is not inevitable. If I asked you to go back to Changsheng Tian to research Demon Armor, would you be willing?" Li Xiu asked.

"What’s there to research? Changsheng Tian doesn’t care about Demon Armor at all." Ximen Guan scoffed.

"This time it’s different. The president of Changsheng Tian intends to fully develop Demon Armor. If you go, you’ll definitely be able to make a significant mark." Li Xiu persuaded.

"I know what the people of Changsheng Tian are like. They say they want to develop Demon Armor, but in fact, they despise it completely, and it’s all just for show. I’d rather enjoy life and live one extra day, rather than be manipulated within Changsheng Tian." Ximen Guan clearly made up his mind that he’d rather not go back to Changsheng Tian.

"I’m now the Commander of the Technician Group. The Magic Armor Master Brigade and the Magic Armor Research Institute are under my control; who would give you a hard time?" Li Xiu laughed.

Ximen Guan was taken aback and sniffed skeptically, "You’re a Commander? No way, you only just entered Changsheng Tian, how could you possibly become Commander? If you’re going to fabricate a story, at least make it sound believable. Technician Group, it sounds obviously fake. Changsheng Tian has groups of Longevity, Immortality, Detachment, Quest, Demon Spirits, Divine Pets; there’s no Technician Group."

"What’s wrong with the name? I think it’s quite nice, and I named it myself." Li Xiu said calmly.

"Are you serious?" Ximen Guan knew what it meant to have the right to name his own group, so he was even more skeptical.

"If you don’t believe me, ask Sha Chu." Li Xiu pointed at Sha Chu.

Ximen Guan looked at Sha Chu, who nodded and said, "Li Xiu is indeed the Commander of Changsheng Tian, the newly appointed Commander of the Technician Group, in charge of the Magic Armor Master Brigade and the Magic Armor Research Institute. There shouldn’t be anyone in Changsheng Tian who doesn’t know him now."

"You’ve really made it to Commander; if I follow you, it might be okay, at least I won’t have to suffer." Ximen Guan finally relaxed.

Li Xiu pondered, "Going to Changsheng Tian might not be a bad thing. If you join my Technician Group, I can legitimately retrieve your Blood Seal Stone for you. Moreover, the equipment, instruments, and resources of Changsheng Tian are far superior to those in the City of Light. Using their resources to conduct our research there is better than having nothing here, right?"

"Alright, I’ll go along with your plan. It’s not like I haven’t been there before." After considering for a moment, Ximen Guan slapped his thigh, deciding to follow Li Xiu back to Changsheng Tian.

"A Fei, you should also come with me to Changsheng Tian later." Li Xiu turned and said to A Fei.
